Shoebox Thursday by Darlene

For today's project, Darlene had a cool fall card. My card ended up different as I wasn't thinking about it and started adding my colors with blending applicators to paper and when I finished realized dah! it was emboss resist which meant I had to emboss my images first before adding any ink!!! and since we were using clear embossing ink it didn't work the opposite way so I used colored ink for my leaves 😊

I got so busy playing with the inks that forgot to write them down all 3 colors were distress inks and the leaves were stamped with ground espresso, and it was a stamp part of a set by Stamp Oasis called leaf group. The folder on the top piece was SU's square lattice and on the bottom layer swirly vine by Sizzix

Amazing day

This was a clean and simple card. The stamp is layered poppy set by Rubbernecker, is one of those multi layer watercolor type but my OCD didn't let me use the other layers LOL so I just stamped the outline and colored in with Copic Markers, the butterfly is a confetti I found on my stash when I was looking for an embellishment and the message was stamped with tuxedo black ink and is from say birthday set by The Greeting Farm

SU Workshop

Today I attended another Stampin' Up workshop with one of the local demonstrators. It was a bundle class. By buying the month's bundle you get to take the class which is 3 cards using that bundle plus she also had other samples with the same stamp set & die. This month was hearts come home stamp set and hometown greetings edgelits dies. For the 3 cards we did we didn't use the dies just the stamps.

For this first card, we used night of navy ink & VersaMark ink with white embossing powder and the circle was done with 2-1/4" punch on their shimmery paper

For this card, we used smokey slate, cherry cobbler, garden green and we were supposed to use basic black but we used tuxedo black and two way glue to applied glitter on trees. I applied my glitter at home so I also applied on top of the roof of two of the houses and on the ground

For this last card, we used washi tape on the edges, the ovals were precut for us but my guess they were cut with their layering ovals framelits, cherry cobbler & old olive inks, the heart is regals enamel shapes and welcome I think is from banners for you set

Fabulous

I made these cards for special birthdays...mile stones, washi tape is from my stash and stamp as well as the die are SU. On red card I added the milestone year like the 50 but in red glitter

Thank you

These cards were for my donation box to Gray Matters Foundation they were a one sheet wonder type cards. This was the 12x12 sheet and I decided to be able to make more cards I would cut the sheets in 4 strips of 2" and 1 of 4" then the in 2" were cut in 5-1/4" and the 4" were cut in 1"  and 2"

so these were my cards

For these cards, I used thanks set by Honey Bee Stamps with tuxedo black ink

For these cards, I use massive messages set by Gina K Designs with tuxedo black ink and thanks stamp & cut set by Hero Arts also with tuxedo black ink

For this, halftone thanks set by Altenew with tuxedo black ink

and for these last cards, I used thanks stamp & cut set by Hero Arts with tuxedo black ink

Pretty Cat

Last month when I was working on Halloween cards I borrowed the swirly scribbles thinlits die set by SU with the intention of making at least one Halloween card I cut my pieces and when I was looking for papers and things to do the card I changed my mind and instead of Halloween I decided to make this particular card a birthday card. I used a ribbon for my bow and there is no cat party without mice so used Martha Stewart mice edge punch for that

Happy Thanksgiving

Hoping everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving Day.

Last month I borrow swirly scribbles thinlits by SU to work on some cards didn't really do much right away but one of the things I had planed was to do this card that I had seen on Pinterest. For Easter a stamping friend sent me a bunny card made with these dies that was cute, seen a lot of people had lots of fun creating things.

First I glued the pieces where I wanted them...the leaves are from little leaves shapeabililites dies by Spellbinders then I sponged carved pumpkin and peeled paint inks, for my message I used for all things set by SU with walnut stain ink

Happy Annivesary

This was a clean and simple quick anniversary card. I used leafy breezy steel craft die by Poppy Stamps then stamped a background with one of the stamps from simple stamped leaves set by Taylored Expressions with spiced marmalade (stamped off) and with the same ink full strength I stamped the message from vertical greetings by Gina K Stamps. On the back of the front panel I placed fall leaves background paper

SU workshop

Today I attended a SU workshop with one of the local demonstrators with 2 of my friends. We did 3 card.

This first card, was using the ombre DSP, the Santa is from hearts come home set with tranquil tide ink, the houses are from the bundle die hometown greetings edgelits and we added some glitter to it. The swirly are part of the snowflake sentiments set also with tranquil tide the original message was from this set but she forgot the stamp so when I got home I used one from the set to you and yours too and since I didn't have the ink I used evergreen which matched pretty good

for this next card, we used remarkable you set with tuxedo black ink and the alcohol markers. I can't tell if the markers are any better than before, honesty, the paper wasn't good with them before and that's what we used now and IN MY OPINION still not good paper for them plus the stamp we used was wood mounted and big which was hard to use with my bad hands so had to restamp on the other side which I never do, yes I HATE doing that but it's a workshop and paper is provided for me. At home I just grab another piece of paper, anyway, it bled so first NEVER do that, is just paper so grab another piece!! and second do not use SU paper with alcohol markers

and for this last card, we used winter wonder textured impressions embossing folder, swirly snowflakes thinlits and the message is from hearts come home set with night of navy ink, rhinestones and the ribbon I think is 3/8" weave soft sky

I used vintage leaves set by SU with bamboo leaves, desert sand and tangelo inks; wickedly sweet set from Paper Pumpkin Sep. 2015 with peanut brittle and pistachio inks and the message is from simple wonderful SAB set with walnut stain ink. I cut my top layer with stitched square die by The Stamps of Life

Gold leaf

This is one of the card designs I used for my Thanksgiving cards this year it was a quick and easy card but I liked it. Gave me a chance to use my peel-off stickers and a new die.

All of these came out of one sheet of peel-off stickers, the stamped message is part of a stamp by The Cottage Stamper with ground espresso ink and the blessings die is from the stamp & cut by Hero Arts

on these two, I used the stamped words from wonderful stamp & cut set by Hero Arts

The sheet only had to make 6 but I had more paper and somehow these were all the different cards I did. I didn't pay attention could have done all 6 the same on all papers 😊 anyway this piece had the words Autumn, so I added the die happy from de stamp & cut set by Hero Arts

Birthday bundle

For my last past paper pumpkin, well still have one but I don't think I'll do anything with that one so for May 2015 paper pumpkin this is what I did

For this kit it was a gift bag with a birthday card but I decided not to make birthday cards. Again I cut in half the card bases so got double the amount. Other than the white card bases and a little of Bermuda Bay cardstock everything else was from the kit...not the messages of course.

For this card I used sending you set by Avery Elle and thanks set by Hero Arts with Bermuda Bay ink

for this one I used sending happy thoughts set by Simon Says Stamp with Bermuda Bay

for this one was thanks set by Honey Bee Stamps also with Bermuda Bay ink

for this one I used party block thanks die by Taylored Expressions

for this one I used autumn greetings set by Sunny Studio also with Bermuda Bay ink

for this one I used scrumptious scripts set by Clearly Besotted and thanks set by Honey Bee Stamps all with Bermuda Bay ink

and last but not least the strings of the balloons were stamped with the kits set with island indigo ink and the message was also stamped with island indigo and is from layering butterfly set by Hampton Art

Banner surprise

For June 2016 paper pumpkin there wasn't too much supplies on this kit as it was supposed to be a banner so what I did was the cards that came in I split in two  so got double the cards and made simple thank you cards that went into my donation box

For the first card I die cut the big thanks steel die by MFT and added an additional message from halftone thanks set by Altenew with tip top taupe ink

with the words that came out of the top card I put them on this card...they were supposed to be tip top taupe but didn't totally really match the color. I used one of the stamps in the kit to add a background then put the die cut words and complete with the words a bunch from the thanks set by Hero Arts

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project, I have another fall card. Yes I know everyone is working on Christmas but until December 20th we're still in Fall season so as much as I love Christmas I still feel like working on fall cards :0)

My card was another triple time stamping but my layers were tilted. We used two sets by Heartfelt Creations open falling leaves and distressed leaves with potter's clay, rich cocoa, bamboo leaves, brushed corduroy, rusty hinge, cottage ivy and peanut brittle inks and gorgeous grunge set by SU with Sahara sand ink. The bling is a rhinestone sticker by Recollections I bought many years ago

A Sara Thing

For Paper Pumpkin April 2017 I made these and still have enough supplies to make more but that kit was one that didn't really inspired me much. I don't do watercolor guess that's the first thing that got me disappointed, the watercolor paper!! these two cards were easy to do as just did the ink resist technique and done but the rest of the supplies just didn't call me for nothing 😞 the embellishments were awful, ugly plus bulky maybe because I send 95% of my cards or donate them and when you donate cards they don't like cards that have bulky embellishments that would cost more than normal postage which I understand. When you're sending your personal cards it's your choice if you pay 49 cents or $3 for a card but the other people are asking cards for free so they really don't want to spend a lot of money to send the hundred of cards they get! so personally those embellishments went to my donation/goodwill box the rest of the papers are in the box to maybe use some day, if they don't get use soon they will go to the donation box too. I will check the alternative ideas and see if someone did something that will inspire me enough to use them 😏

I used distress inks and blending tool to add color. For this one I used shaded lilac, seedless preserves and dusty concord

for this one squeezed lemonade, scattered straw, mustard seed, fossilized amber and antique linen

for both I used black licorice hybrid ink for the message which was from the kit

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project, I made a fall project. I made my card birthday but I gave them their choice of message. This time we didn't use a stamp positioner to stamp the two-step stamps following a card Gina K did once. For someone with OCD like me was hard not grabbing the stamp positioner but after the whole card was done it was easier to let go and didn't have as much problem, I did try to stamp as closed as possible but a bit of center. I used simple stamped leaves set by Taylored Expressions for my leaves, love this set is 3 step stamping but we only used 2 the bottom and the top stamps and we used carved pumpkin with spiced marmalade (stamped off), vintage photo straight and also stamped off and peeled paint with mowed lawn. For the message it was ground espresso and the message I used was from Papertrey Ink also for background we used gorgeous grunge set by SU with old paper ink

Sunday Tip or Technique

Today is my birthday, it is my privilege to celebrate another year so I always take it. No matter how good or bad the previous years today is my day to celebrate as tomorrow is not promise.
Recently I saw on Facebook a sweatshirt that says "all women were created the same but the best were born in November" what are the odds our grand-daughter and I were born in the same month 😋 and also there was a t-shirt that said "I'm a November girl, I was born with my heart on my sleeve, a fire in my soul and a mouth I can't control, thank you for your understanding" Bret just laugh and said that I wouldn't be serious to wear something like that, after thinking about it told him and I would LOL but of course didn't order neither one but did think about it as I like both messages.

This card is using one of the Sunday Tip or Technique, card in a card, which was a fun card to work on. The idea came from Srushti Patil. Her card was square and it had the seven layers opening all the same side but I decided to have my card normal A2 size and alternate my openings right to left and left to right, my seventh layer is for my personal message and being that today is my birthday I decided to make this TT a birthday card. She used magnets to keep the card closed and thought about doing that but at the last minute decided that it really didn't need that extra step, yes card doesn't closed completely but after mailing it might. I made it very colorful being is a birthday card, her cards were only two tones

For the top layer I used the stamp & cut set Happy by Hero Arts, I die cut the happy twice, the birthday was stamped with tuxedo black ink, the butterfly is from small butterfly frame by W Plus 9 steel designer die, pearls from stash

the inside of the first card was done with happy balloons set by Concord & 9th with Lulu lavender & grape jelly inks, and birthday bundle paper pumpkin set May 2015 with grape jelly

for the second card I used sprinkles turnabout set also by Concord & 9th with tuxedo black, desert sand, angel pink & rose bud inks; I used Copic Marker to anchor the cupcake

for the 3rd card, I used Sale-A-Bration set big day by SU with black licorice hybrid ink and colored in with Copic Markers

for the 4th card, I used balloon adventures set by SU with tuxedo black ink, cantaloupe and dandelion ink

for the 5th card, I used wishing you set by Mama Elephant with tuxedo black ink, sparkled with love paper pumpkin set May 2017 with bamboo ink

and for the 6th card, I used balloon adventures set again by SU with tangelo ink coloring in with Copic Markers and ink blot set by CTMH with potter's clay ink

Again, for the 7th card I decided not to decorate or anything as this would be used for the personal note

50th wedding anniversary

An online friend and husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary yesterday and this is the card I sent them. Now a days that people don't seems to believe on the bows they take when they get married it's a big accomplishment to make it to the next anniversary so 50 years is a big milestone to celebrate!

I used so detailed thinlits and large numbers by SU and whimsy alphabet by Spellbinders

Today we honor those that have served in any branch of the service. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

The image is Beary cute stamp by Darcie’s Country Folk stamped with Big & Juicy black ink added some chalk on the cheeks and fuzzy cut it; I used Stars and stripes pattern paper by Colorbök and ran it through Americana print textured impressions embossing folder by Sizzix & Tim Holtz and the flag is a tooth pick I had in my stash

Smart fox

A dear friend's birthday was a couple days ago so of course had to make a manly card which wasn't really had with all the stamps I have especially with the new sets by Hero Arts. I had other plan for this card but because I was using my MISTI to stamp the layer and my stamp positioner my paper ended up weird so had to die cut front layer smaller than I had plan so changed my idea but worked out ok just became more of a clean and simple card.

The set is color layering cool fox and I used potter's clay, Morocco & rich cocoa inks and for the glasses espresso truffle. The message is from SU's elegancia esencial set with tuxedo black and my grass was done with Copic Markers. The layers were cut with double stitched rectangles by Kat Scrappiness

Since I was doing his card and I went through the steps of layering the fox decided to make some extra cards that I needed in English so the message on these were from wetlands set by SU
