Shoebox Thursday by Kathy

For today's shoebox project Kathy had this lovely card using touches of texture SU's set. She made hers as a thank you card and we had our choice of adding the message or not, I chose not to so it could be for anything. I also forgot to add the ribbon on my flowers but added pearls on my flowers' centers and a pearl ribbon after I got home 😊 for ink we used tuxedo black, perfect plum and markers cucumber crush, perfect plum & regal rose

Paper Pumpkin December 2017

These are some of the cards I made with the flora and flutter paper pumpkin kit. The first card I made for my sister as an extra birthday card since I sent her card to Mexico and she spend her birthday with us. The front message was from the kit with twisted citron ink, same as the butterfly, the inside message was December birthday set by Papertrey Ink also same ink.

The other two cards were the same fold but for different things one anniversary and the other birthday. For this one, I used sahara sand ink on all the stamping, the inside message is by Del-Rose Stamping

for this last card I also stamped with sahara sand ink just changed the message on the front

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I have a simple black & white card, one of my favorite combos. I was going through one of my drawers and found this lacy strip so decided I had to finish up what I had as it wasn't enough to do much so had to figure out a way to make it last usefully 😊 so black & white card! Because I wanted to show off the lace needed something that wouldn't really cover the lace so looking at what I had found this big butterfly die by SU that worked perfect, it's from butterflies thinlits set. My message is from CTMH set felicidades, although I have a message in English for my friends. The lace I got at Daisy Japan store...I think...it was very long time ago it's adhesive and it was a two pack one black roll and one white different designs

Anniversary

This was a clean and simple anniversary card idea from Pinterest I don't recall seeing a watermark on the card so can't give credit to the artist.

Our dear friends are celebrating their 46th anniversary today and this is the card I gave them.
I used cross my heart folder by Cuttlebug, I mounted it on red glitter paper. The message is D Hunter and Darice with fired brick ink pearls from stash

Two hearts

One color combo I like is black & white so I made this anniversary card using that combo. I hadn't used this die I bought at Simon Says Stamp after it came out with their kit. I didn't want the whole kit as I didn't care for the papers but I did like the heart. I couldn't do my first thought of stacking the two hearts so they were just next to each other. The message is part of a stamp by Endless Creations with tuxedo black ink on the bottom left corner I put the year of the anniversary the couple was celebrating with Precious Moments alphabet set also with tuxedo black ink

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project I did a clean and simple black & white card. I love lighthouses so I picked one of the local lighthouses the one in Port Townsend, the stamp is by Rubber Rhapsody stamped with tuxedo black ink. I decided to give some dimension without adding more color so added two layers in white and both layers are embossed at the edge of all 4 sides with score board; for my message I punched a half inch strip with my banner triple punch from SU and stamped message the one in English is out of the paper pumpkin seriously amazing from back in August 2014 and the one in Spanish is from Papertrey Ink global greetings. The top layer was added with foam everything else is flat including the message

Spirelli

One of the Sunday Tip or Technique and a mingle (aka swap) theme in one of my Yahoo groups was the Spirelli technique so this is the card I made for my mingle. I had some card bases I was working on for my donation box so grabbed one and used that as my base and just added the spirelli and message. I used Spellbinders small pinking circles die for my template and embroidery floss to do the spirelli; my message is a Precious Moments stamp with ground espresso ink and punched out with 1" circle

For today's shoebox project I made a simple black & white card inspired by a card by Jane at LeeAnn's blog. I used dragonfly dreams set by SU with tuxedo black ink then I framed a piece of vellum with double stitched rectangle dies by Kat Scrappiness, for my strip I used MFT stitched vertical strips dies. I die cut the dragonfly from detailed dragonflies dies by SU out of vellum and black on the black piece I put the rhinestones then I cover the whole thing with glossy accents

Happy 30th

Our youngest turned 30 today, yeap not a little kid any more but still both boys will always be the kids to us 😋

I was planning on a different card for him but then saw this card when I was looking for Rachel's live event a couple weeks ago and changed my idea to this. Raquel Tessman called it diagonal tuck explosion card.

I used 3 SU sets, endless birthday wishes, milestone moments and balloon adventures with broken china & mermaid lagoon inks and for dies I used large numbers by SU and whimsy alphabet by Spellbinders. The piece on the bottom as well as the inside was a bandanna paper I had that I cut to size...with the scraps I cut my front piece.

I don't know if I did something wrong when I adhered my explosion part but it didn't open when I gave it to Bret to sign so from this

I had to add a clip which was a left over from a paper pumpkin kit, they had some orange bows, I removed the bow and used just the clip. You can't glue the bottom part or it won't open but with the clip it sort of pop on its own enough that Jacob knew to finish the pop-out and then the clip is not necessary obviosly

Rachel stapled her card I just used double sided tape, I'm not a fan of staplers

OSW thank you

More one sheet wonder cards. For this set I used many thanks set with tuxedo black ink for all cards I just cut the paper a little different. Originally I was going to do 4 cards but then decided to cut the angle piece small so I could put the two pieces together and just leave a big piece on two cards

Shoebox Thursday

One of my girlfriends wanted to refresh the criss cross fold so decided to do that as a shoebox project. I used on whole piece of cardstock to do my base. It's 12" x 5.5" making it almost a regular A2 card as it was 4" x 5.5"

For all cards I used wreath builder set by Gina K with rich cocoa ink and toffee crunch dual marker for the inside of the heart. To make each card a little different I used a different message on each

I also made these just as a sample. They're also with one full sheet that was 16.5" x 4.25" making it a regular A2 size 5.5" x 4.25" The main reason to do this extra cards was to show the papers as mainly when you do this card, below is how you would have your paper if it was double sided paper.

To have this or like the first card you need to cut two pieces of paper the same so you can alternate the paper to match your base

I don't like piecing card bases so I either have to use a big cardstock or make a smaller card to fit the cardstock I have.

OSW birthday

When I made these cards I left a few without message for my personal use and I made them into birthday cards. The brads were from my stash and the message was scripty sayings by Gina K with hybrid black licorice ink

Stampin Up Workshop

Today we attended the monthly workshop with one of the local SU demonstrators. We did 3 cards

This first card was using true gentleman DSP with tailored tag punch, the stamping was done with night of navy ink with guy greetings set, the ribbon was corduroy night of navy

For this card, we used tutti-frutti DSP, basic pack 2 washi tape, fruit basket set with lemon lime twist and garden green ink for bowl and berry burst and lemon lime twist inks for berries and berry burst ink for message. The original card had the top layers mounted on foam as well as the two loose berries but since my foam is too thick I only mounted the berries everything else was flat 😊

and last but not least, we used lovely floral textured impressions embossing folder, baker's twine, the stamping was with love what you do using one of the new in colors grapefruit grove and tranquil tide, also used share what you love specialty DSP, all circles were punched out of the 2" circle. Everything was mounted on foam

Happy Mother's Day

Hoping all moms, step-moms and foster moms have a great day today.

This is the card I made for the moms, step-mom & foster mom I gave cards this year. I made it in different colors according to the colors I know they like and for those that I don't know the colors, I just did random colors.
I used Gina K wreath technique with my template. I was able to finally ordered my kit but had not arrived by the time I needed/wanted to do these cards and had been having fun with this technique. I used my template to do the leaves and the outer flowers, for the inside flower I just used a block as I was just stamping randomly to cover my hole. My thought was making a big flower out of flower stamps. I used Gina K's painted autumn set for all stamping of the flower and leaves and for the message is a A Muse stamp with tuxedo black ink. All ribbons are SU; my top layer was cut with Stamps of Life stitched rectangle die and mounted on foam. All inks were distress inks

Birthday

Our oldest turned 37 today, sure makes us feel old LOL this is the card he got from us. The idea was from Alyson Mayo.
I used God's creations by Two Paper Divas with night of navy ink, the message is from vertical greetings & things set by Gina K Designs also with night of navy ink. For my background I used my Copic Airbrush System as it was easier than doing background with sponges, probably not as even but works for me 😊 the dragonflies were punched out of an old EK Success punch, cut my layers from square and rectangle stitched dies by My Favorite Things, rhinestones from stash

Shoebox Thursday by Kathy

For today's shoebox project Kathy had a pretty thank you card. We used a stamp from a SU set but don't know which one with lost lagoon ink, and label bracket punch also from SU
I changed my card by adding some pearls on some of the centers of the flowers

Feliz Día de las Madres

Today is mother's day in Mexico the day I celebrate mother's day although I do get to celebrate twice because I'm lucky that Bret celebrate's me since I'm only a stepmom 😊

Since I'm also lucky to still have my mom this is the card I sent her. I used fan fold card very simple, no stamping other than the message as I just used background paper, SU punches for the butterflies and the set was called Feliz by Sizzix with hybrid black licorice ink
