Happy New Year's Eve

On the Sixth Day of Christmas I wish you a happy end of 2017. This year was again with big events and also some losses.

My stamping friend JeanAnn B passed away in April after a long time dealing with her illness. Another stamping friend Carolyn S passed away in May from a long battle of cancer. Another stamping friend loss her husband Dave of over 56 years in October. There was a new member in my foster family Thunwa Wyatt D

In April we celebrated the 70th milestone of two of our dearest friends

In June we celebrated another milestone of one of my adoptive aunts, her 90th

Our nephew graduated from Secundaria or Jr High, Middle School in July

My dad turned 80 in August

In August also, we went to Waterloo, IL to a surprised 90th birthday long weekend celebration for my foster mom, this is most of my foster family.

Also in August, we celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary doing what we love, hiking waterfalls.

On September 10th, these 5 grandparents got to celebrate Grand-Parents' day for the first time!

Our grand-daughter turned one in November

My sister came for a visit for Christmas/her birthday

and I gave her this welcome card. Again the fold was Stamp with Anna's idea, I really like this card fold, not so much with dies but with punches is great...only because of my OCD but if you don't have my issues you'll be ok 😊 unless the person that gets your card has OCD like me and it's a stamper LOL

I used 2-1/4" EK Success circle punch, the welcome stamp is by Make an Impression stamped with mowed lawn ink, the wreath is out of micro beads and it's a 3D Christmas sticker by Recollections

the inside message was also stamped with mowed lawn ink and the stamp is by Stamp City

Feliz Navidad & Merry Christmas

Hope you all have a wonderful day

This is the card I made for Bret. It was inspired by the card Frenchie did this summer on one of her live events on Facebook I did a little bit of a change on dimensions I think because I didn't use her supplies but otherwise it turned out pretty much the same. Bret likes burgundy so I made his card that color. The front message is from the Merry stamp & cut set by Hero Arts with grapevine ink, the tree is the 5 part tree steel craft die by Elizabeth Craft Design

for the inside I used SU's oval framelits dies, star of light stamp set with grapevine ink and starlight dies

I didn't really like how the card was so I did it again and made the glitter frame to go inside the blue panel and I liked it more

This was a fun card to make, you get a two for one although so far I just have done the one and still have the pieces for the second card 😊

I used Starform peel-off stickers for my corners and the holly leaves. I colored in the leaves with Copic markers and the berries but then decided to add some pearls. The joy is a die from SU's set wonderful wreath, for the shaker part I used micro glass beads from my stash

December birthday

I made this card for a friend that her birthday is this month. I love the Papertrey Ink sets too many options on how to add a message for a month's birthday. I used winter wonder textured impressions embossing folder by SU on shimmery paper, foil flakes also from SU, in the center of the foil flake I added some bisque liquid pearls, I didn't want anything bulky since I mounted the whole layer on foam, the ribbon is from my stash by Celebrate It, and the message is the December set with peanut brittle

Shoebox Thursday

Today was my turn to host the shoebox so decided to use Stamp with Anna's card fold, she called it window card, it's like a double card as you are cluing two folded cards together, I really like it, plenty of room to write and decorate. For this card, I used The Stamps of Life set gingerbread2stamp.

I first attached the top of my piece of craft paper where I wanted then punched my 2-1/2" circle punch, then stamped my message and attached my brad which I got at Impress and I'm pretty sure is from Outlet Eyelets and Brads and finished attaching my craft paper.

Then I align all my stamps on the Tim Holtz platform tool did the outline with espresso truffle ink then aligned the second stamp and stamped with desert sand, then aligned the eyes, lips and bow, inked the eyes and bow with espresso truffle ink and the lips with Memento dual marker lady bug. Cover the eyes with black pearls from my stash. I anchor my gingerbread with a Copic Marker but I changed for my friends to a Memento dual marker gray flannel as I forgot about the bleeding through the paper and I had already cut all my papers, the inside message is from the set patterns4Christmastree also from The Stamps of Life with espresso truffle ink

Stampin' Up Workshop

Today we attended a SU workshop with one of the local demonstrators. We got to do 3 projects although technically were 5 projects.

The first project was a New Year's card, holiday card, with cheers to the year set stamped with basic gray ink, the snowflake was punched out of the 1-1/2" circle punch and mounted on foam, year of cheer specialty DSP pack and gold foil flake

for the second project, we did a 3D project using the mini pizza box, again one of the gold foil flakes, the same year of cheer specialty DSP pack but a different paper, everyday label punch, 1-1/2" circle punch...the circle was mounted flat on the label but the label was mounted on foam; the stamping was done with elegant eggplant, there was not set box and forgot to ask from which set they joy and snowflake it belong to and I already looked twice on both catalogs and couldn't find it, I know it's biting me on the nose LOL just can't see them

And the last project, actually were 3 tags made with merry little labels set and everyday label punch. We used chocolate chip, smokey slate and old olive ink. For the first one real red solid ribbon and enamel shape heart, for the second whisper white sheer ribbon and instead of glitter I added Wink of Stella and for the last one, quilted Christmas ribbon and enamel shape as the berry. I believe the enamel shapes were the brights as to me they look real red 😊

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I made a pretty easy card, well simple not easy :0)

I used a die I bought long time ago, Merry tree by Impression Obsession that I have never used, guess like most of you, saw a card that like and found the die so I bought it but then for one thing or another never got around to actually make the card or any card with it but finally I did! not the card I originally saw as I never saved the picture or pinned it!! Anyway this is what I made with the die, thought the die would be a little easier to use not that it wasn't just that it was not a one piece so you have to align the pieces, it has 3 pieces and for someone like me have to make sure it matched perfectly but at the same time, this die that has the flexibility that can be used apart without any problem 😊 I added red pearls from my stash and wasn't sure which I like, played around and let them applied the pearls as they wished :0)

Dia de las Guadalupes

Tomorrow is Día de las Guadalupes a big holiday in Mexico and since my mom is named after her as well a few other people I know I send them a special card for their "Santo". A few years ago I found a stamp at Michaels with the image of the Virgen de Guadalupe, the stamp is by Recollections so I had used it since but probably I won't use it for a couple years so they don't get tired of it specially since it's way too detailed to color so I have been using it like this or something similar LOL anyway it will be use again but thought it would be nice to send them cards with it since that was why they were celebrated.

This year it was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with fine line gold embossing powder and die cut with Spellbinders petite oval dies, I ran Y28 Copic Marker on the edge of the oval just to give a little color so it wasn't totally white since I used the largest of the ovals so couldn't cut a larger oval, well at the time wasn't thinking to use my Brother Scan N Cut duh! oh well next time LOL

Double zig zig

This was one of the "TT" aka Template or Technique in one of my Yahoo groups a while back. I used some message stamps I hadn't used in a very long time as I don't seem to have a use for them I know like them but just can't seem to find a way to use them but worked great for this card. One of the sets was by Perfectly Said Rubber Stamps, another stamp Imagine Rubber Works and Stampendous all stamped with tuxedo black ink. The flowers were from the sets by Heartfelt Creations moonlight dahlia, and blossom both stamped on colored cardstock with tuxedo black and added some chalks and die cut with their matching dies that are by Heartfelt Creations & Spellbinders. The stem of the flowers were ribbon I got at Impress
