Seahorse

Another card for my sister. For this card, I did a little bit of color with sponge and zeal teal ink. I used colored layering seahorse set by Hero Arts, I stamped the bubbles with zeal teal ink and the seahorses with peanut brittle ink. The rhinestones were stickers by forever in time Scrapbook Collection

Shoebox Thursday by Candee

For today's card, Candee had this lovely flower card for us...her sample had 3 sets of leaves but they were a pain to stamp so decided to only do two :0) We used one of SU's celebrations duo textured impressions embossing folder, and for the flower and leaves we used Altenew beautiful day stamp set and matching dies. For the flower, we used blushing bride, pretty in pink, regal rose & regal rose inks for the leaves we used pear pizzazz, old olive & always artichoke inks

Faux inlaid

These were cards that went into my donation box. I wanted to do the inlaid technique but after I did the first two cards I decided on this die it was too hard so I did what I called faux inlaid technique as at plain sight it looks the same but I didn't actually do the work :0)

I used SU's flourish thinlits. The message on the white cards is computer generated. So for the first two cards, I actually did the inlaid technique that's why on the white card I didn't finish the leaves :0) For this technique, you die cut your image in one color and then you die cut the same image in other colors and you fill the negative spaces with the other colors. On the first card I cut the flourish out of the white layer and place it on the black panel and the black panel I placed it on the white planel, and all the little bits and pieces of the white panel were put back on white card which was a bit hard so I didn't finish LOL I added some pearls for dimension. On the black card, I actually did finish putting all the bits and pieces and also added the pearls

After doing the two cards above, decided it was way too much work as the pieces were too little so what I did was same step as above BUT instead of adding the bits and pieces I added a text weight piece of paper on the back of each card according to their color...on the white panel a white piece on the black panel black, making the look of inlaid but without the work, if you touch the paper all paper is at the same level...the black flourish and white background and white flourish and black background the only dimension are the pearls

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I decided to make the card based on Connie S card. I did my card horizontal as used an oval instead of a circle and I didn't use a layer behind my oval as the oval I used was the biggest in my stitched set and all the other set by other companies didn't match this set by Stamps of Life :0( the duck or geese is from The wilderness awaits set by SU, stamped a few times with rich cocoa ink, and used the blending tool to add color to the oval. For my background, I used ink blot set by CTMH with crushed olive, peeled paint & rich cocoa inks

Thinking of you

This is another card that went into my donation box. I used flourish thinlits dies by SU, the ribbon is also by SU, the message is heartfelt thoughts sentiments by CTMH stamped with tuxedo black

Fancy folds

Yesterday I attended a SU workshop where we did 3 fancy fold cards with two of the local SU demonstrators using retiring products

This is the first card we did, we use the nailed it stamp set and matching die, which was my frustration this time around with SU as it was on my wish list but since Bret's birthday and father's day is not until June I thought I had plenty of time to order it as the catalog said it was good until May 31, which means even if it didn't carry over I should be able to order before the catalog expires. But the moment they put it on the retired list it was out of stock,  somehow SU doesn't understand the meaning of "good until certain date". I know I'm a literal person but the "until supplies last" does not cut it when they have "good until", IF they are going to cut production before the expiration of the catalog then they should say that "we will cut production of product when we want so even if the catalog is good until a certain day we won't have item available". For sure it was not until supplies last as there was still time to make more from the time they posted their retired list and the end of the catalog! anyway this is my two cents of frustration with SU not that they ever care what customers think :0)

It's a side step card, most supplies were cut and die cut for us so pretty much all we had to do was put together. We sponge the "drawers" with cherry cobbler, the happy father's day and woodgrain pieces were stamped with early espresso, we also used the new hexagons dynamic textured impressions embossing folder, all the tools were from the die so they were cut twice once with the wood for the handle part and the other with the metallic paper...they had the two pieces cut for us but we had to cut to fit the metal piece, the wood piece was mostly full size.

a closed up of the drawers

a closed up of the side step

This was the second card, this was a frustrated card only because I HATE glue and I always make my intricate die cuts into stickers so I don't have to hassle when gluing I know that for demonstrator would not be cost efficient probably and since they were trying to help by having all the supplies ready as they were having a lot of people on Friday night it would avoid lines at the cutting machine if they had everything precut but personally I rather cut my own so I can cut my way which means adding adhesive on the back of the paper so I don't have to hassle and I always to my best not to waste paper at home and even more at a workshop. I see how other people are wasteful sometimes and always wonder if they're like that with their own supplies or are they like this because they're not theirs supplies and when possible I try to teach them a way to be less wasteful :0) The original card also had a piece of mint macaron with a message but I never saw the punch...classic label so didn't add that to my card. We were to pick our message, the message on the sample was a mother's day but since I have already sent my card for my mom and it's always in Spanish I did my message when I got home using and old hostess set call en marco with mint macaron ink. The dies we used were from stylish stems framelits for the banner/frame and flourish thinlits everything else. Their card had the belly band higher but I decided I liked mine all the way down :0)

Last but not least the last card was a pop-up card. For this card, I would have made my sticker paper again for the confetti. We used birthday blast stamp set and I used tuxedo black with mine they had their basic black but since I alway carry my memento ink I rather use that when it comes to black :0) The confetti along with the pop-up were from the star blast edgelits die, the stars are the ones that come out of the die so instead of wasting them we used them

Happy 70th

Today is a dear friend's birthday. His card was a hard one to make and only because mainly I have been working on digital scrapbooking not on card making so wasn't getting inspired LOL I bought this stamp set especially to make his card as he loves fishing but somehow I just couldn't come up with something, at the end I did a simple card, not what I wanted but was drawing a blank!!! still like the end result, although probably I should have done my coloring before doing my stamping :0)

The set is fisherman's friend by Inkylicious stamped with tuxedo black. The fish and rocks where colored in with Copic Markers. The top message was a combination of 3 sets the happy birthday is friendship messages by Simon Says Stamp, the 70 is alphabet set by Precious Moments and "th" is memorable moments by SU all of them stamped with tuxedo black. For my background I used memento inks with sponges...summer sky, Bahama blue, Danube blue & nautical blue

The message is from heartfelt thoughts sentiments set by CTMH also in tuxedo black

Shoebox Thursday

Today is my turn to provide the shoebox project and I did a card inspired on Sue M, her card was posted on Stamping with Brian as one of the cards he got as a swap.

This is how my card ended up for them. We used special reason SU stamp set and matching die set. First I was going to let them stamp one big and one small leaf and the other two were going to be die cut BUT that would have taken more time to go around so I went ahead and stamped all of them with wild wasabi ink and die cut all the leaves for them so they just have to glue wherever they want them and just have to cut the flower and add the pearls that were from my stash. I didn't give them a message to put as they always give out the cards so they can just add the message they need when they need to send/give the card.

On this card, I decided to add a message that can be for anything...birthday, anniversary or just because, which probably will be the message that I will use on the extra cards I made :0) the message is from heartfelt expressions set by Heartfelt Creations with love letter ink

Baby girl

My foster sister had her second grandchild a baby girl so I made this card for her and her husband to congratulate them. The main idea was from Leigha I just did my own thing I guess from what I saw on her card :0)

The message is an old stamp by Funstamp/Stampendous used rose bud ink. The butterfly, as well as the rattle are by The Stamps of Life and used rose bud ink, I used the matching die to cut the rattle. The Teddy bear is from My Favorite Things and used the matching die to cut it and London fog ink. The "nobs" on the drawers I made them with one of the punches from itty bitty punch pack by SU and pearls, I sponged around the drawers with rose bud ink. For the dresser I cut on the bottom with the decorative punch by SU and on the top I cut a piece of cardstock glued it on top and then cut in an angle

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox I decided to make a card inspired in a card Stephanie from the crafty thinker did. Her card was a double slider with the new in color by SU and I decided to make it a simple card in purple since it's my favorite color :0)

I used floral phrases SU set for the background with wilted violet ink; my circles were done with 2.5" circle punch by EK Success and stitched circles by Stamps of Life; the message is from the set balloon adventures also by SU and also same ink and it was pop-up with foam

Love eagles

For this anniversary card, I used stitched square dies by My Favorite Things, the eagle couple stamp is by The Rubbe Cafe stamped with tuxedo black and colored with Copic Markers, the message is a combination of 3 sets one by Simon Says Stamp (the congratulations) and two by Hero Arts (one has on your and the other anniversary) and stamped with tuxedo black

Happy Easter everyone!!

Wishing you a blessed Easter.

We are celebrating Easter here so this is how our table ended up.

Each individual setting was like this

I ordered the Paper Pumpkin March 2017 bunny buddies refill as it is not available for purchase yet. I hadn't decided what I wanted to do for my place card and normally I add a little candy or something with it and when I saw those, thought that would be a good idea and was able to borrow the stamp set so I could do the treat bags. They work perfect, as treat and name card. I stamped the face with tuxedo black ink, I decided to add wiggly eyes instead of stamping the eyes and I wrote each name with my Copic multi-liner, everything else was part of the kit and I filled them with chocolate Easter eggs

This is the card I gave Bret. I lot of bling for a guy you may say but he likes everything I give him and after I made the cards here I had all the negative parts laying around. I die cut the eggs in a full quarter sheet so I could do something with the negative space in a later time, figure it was a good way to get two cards with one cut :0) and this is what I did...I made them in 4 different colors

Many years ago, at one of the shows they were selling these sheets of bling about 6 x 12 or something like that to cut with dies so of course, for someone that collects dies I thought I could do something cool, well, turns out that I didn't pay attention that well on how they were cutting them and I just couldn't do it no matter what I did and turned out my recollection didn't have the right dies, it only work on regular dies not waffle dies which is what I collect as most of us do. Nowadays, pretty much Tim Holtz is the only one that continues to make original dies which have to do because he does alter media I think. And of course, I couldn't use them and they have been sitting in a drawer for years until now :0) on the top area, I stamped clouds with summer sky ink with a stamp by Picture Show, the grass is pasture grass die by Memory Box, the messages is part of the set indescribable gift set by SU stamped with blueprint sketch ink.

Also, wanted to share this card my sister sent us for Easter isn't it awesome! she does great quilling work

Ran them through the woodgrain textured impressions embossing folder by SU, added a pearl in the center. I embossed a piece of cardstock with polkadots page folder by Cuttlebug, my hills I did them with my speech bubble by Lawn Fawn die just cut off the little thingy if needed to. My message is by Impress stamped with London fog

Happy 70th birthday

Today is one of my dearest friend's birthday and this is the card I made for her.

It's a peekaboo slider card. It was fun making it. I made a little change from the original measurements that Dawn used still have to work the measurements as I was not completely happy with them but got it working :0) also I hated the free SAB SU glitter paper is as bad as using regular glitter it got everywhere so my whole work area had glitter and to me the whole purpose of using glitter paper is so you don't get the mess.

The message that is peeking here is from the balloon adventures by SU with teal zeal ink. The circles were cut from Lifestyle Crafts, the sweet Tilda with wedding gifts was stamped with tuxedo black and colored with Copic Marker

this is the view from town

and this is the inside, the message on the side is also from the balloon adventures, the message peeking is from memorable moments also by SU and teal zeal ink

Shoebox Thursday by Kathy

Today's shoebox was provided by Kathy and she had this cute, delicate card. She used the same stamped set I used on Tuesday what are the odds :0) the circles were die cut with Spellbinders dies I believe the top circle was stamped with serene Silhouettes set by SU with perfect plum ink rhinestones from stash; the delicates details were stamped with crumb cake, pearls from her stash; the organza white ribbon was also from her stash

Happy Easter

This is one of the cards I gave out this year. Again didn't give out many cards and didn't even make any for my donation box.

I die cut my cross from the crosses two set by Spellbinders, then embossed the background which is book alterations texture folder by Tim Holtz/Sizzix. Behind the cross I put a cross sticker by Recollection. The message is by Stamptastic stamped with peanut brittle

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project, I liked the project Lynn Dunn did so I grabbed my delicate detail set and because I do have egg dies, nested eggs by Spellbinders I can do my eggs looking like eggs not using ovals :0) I know she has to use what SU sells. Anyway, I just did one egg the way she did it my other two eggs were done with Elizabeth Crafts  Designs dies.

First, I die cut my egg then I stamp the lace with lulu lavender ink on both sides leaving space in the center where I put this awful pearls I got a Hobby Lobby

they're a sheet that I don't know who thought of making them this way or for what purpose but guess when you are not cutting them apart they work for something. The Easter eggs by ECD dies are two dies one the outline and then the background, the grass is prairie grass by Memory Box, the message is part of Easter greeting set by Simon Says Stamps stamped in elderberry

Western birthday

I needed to make a make card so checking on Pinterest saw a card from Kay C and this was my spin. I used hardwood stamp by SU with rich cocoa ink, the main image is part of the western collage set by Heartfelt Creations also with rich cocoa ink and as always I try to make more than one card and both in English and Spanish since I the people I send cards to are in these two main languages. The message in English is by Printworks and in Spanish is by Stamp A Mania and they were stamped with ground espresso

Saturday, April 8, 2017

Our thoughts

This is another card for the donation box. I saw something on Pinterest and sorry don't recall from whom as I had seen so many sympathy cards at one point and then was just working in my craftroom from what I remember and was too lazy to go back and recheck all the cards.

The folder I used was swirly frame by Crafts-Too, the stamp is serene silhouettes by SU stamped in tuxedo black, the message was computer generated

Friday, April 7, 2017

Our thoughts

This is another card I made for my donation box. I used d'vine swirls embossing folder by Cuttlebug, blooming stawflower steel craft die by Poppy Stamps, Offray ribbon and the message was computer generated

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I made a simple card. I remember a card I seen on Pinterest some time ago and I was working on a card for my parents so when I finished it decided that I would use that as my shoebox project

This is the card for my parents the butterfly is the swallowtail by SU, I stamped it with tuxedo black then I masked it and then stamped the music background by My Favorite Things with London fog ink. I did the message in the computer since one had ever made a stamp in Spanish in plural. It's simple in English you say thinking of you for one person or for a couple or a family but in Spanish Pensando en ti it's only for one person and seems that IF we are lucky that any company make a stamp in Spanish they only do it in single person and yes you probably say I should be glad to get what I can find but being in a country where was created but people from all different nationalities is not too much to ask :0)

For my shoebox I did the same card but without the message as that was the original card I wanted to make but then I thought it was for my parents so the thinking of you would be a nice touch :0)

Our thoughts and prayers

This is another card that went in the donation box. Again I used petal power set by Penny Black & Altenew inks. The background that is very light was done with soft lilac with rose pattern stamp by Holly Pond Hill. The flower was stamped with midnight violet and soft lilac and forest glades. The message was stamped from caring critters set by Sugar Pea Design with midnight violet punched out duet banner by SU

Saturday, April 1, 2017

You're in my thoughts

I have been working on some cards for my donation box. I used petal power set by Penny Black with Altenew ink. I wasn't very happy with the ink I loved the inks when I used them with rubber stamps but using them with clear stamps is like stamping with Distress ink and have to stamps a few times to get a nice impression which means the image becomes darker than wanted as is not the same stamping once than 3-4 times anyway still nice used forest glades, sapphire and Caribbean sky inks; stitched rectangles by Stamps of Life; the message is from rose wonder set by SU in sapphire ink
