Happy Fall Heroes

It's was time again to honor the heroes in my city so I made them a Fall card. For these cards I played with my Concord & 9th thankful leaves turnabout. It had been a few years since I played with this set. I cut my Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock to 6 x 6 so I could make either regular A2 card or mini slimline card I used Altenew crisp die inks summer afternoon collection caramel toffee, fall harvest collection pumpkin pie, tropical forest collection olive, green fields collection evergreen. After I finished I decided I wanted to use the set's leaf so went for an A2 card size so cut 3 layers of brown and then with the same inks I did the background I used some blending brushes from Amazon, on another piece and then die cut that. From my scrap bowl I grabbed pieces and stamped happy fall from Autumn fairies stamp set by Poppy Stamps with VersaFine Clair pine cone. I die cut my background piece with double stitched rectangle dies by Kat Scrappiness and then stamped with VersaFine Clair pine cone my message from My Hero stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps mounted the layer to a brownish layer that was die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers and finally mounted all to my base of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock

This is what I originally wanted to do but the flags were hard to do on the banner

so this is what I did

then when I was half way through I thought of something which I liked more but I couldn't find all the pieces since I had tossed them in the recycle bin so decided everyone had to get the same card so continue with the card as above BUT if I were to do it all over I would do the inlay technique even if it takes longer, not the banner though LOL

Since I had left over about 2" as I had done 6x6 I decorated the inside something I normally don't do, the stamp is from All seasons tree stamp set by Heartfelt Creations

Happy 80th

Today my mom is blessed to celebrate her 80th birthday and of course I am lucky to still have her. For her card I had seen the tutorial Sam at Mixed Up Craft, she called it unusual pinwheel tower card and decided that was the card I wanted to do and then in one of my online groups it was the Sunday Tip or Technique so of course it was a sign that it had to be the card LOL It was hard to find a border die to make the card but I did. I liked the one she used but was out of stock and of course shipping from UK is too expensive not that my mom is not worth it 😂 Messages in Spanish on the other hand was hard since no company makes message stamps other than Feliz Cumpleaños, Gracias, Pensando en Ti which they are always horizontal and not in nice font, I know picky but we have a big population of hispanics 😀 and there are other nationalities so would be nice they had nice font on the other languages they make and other options, vertical and other messages. Anyway many years ago I had made a custom made stamp so that's what I used and a combination from different stamp sets by SU, CTMH, Stamp A Mania

It folds flat and folded was about 6-1/8 x 9 just over 2oz plus thick, I made special envelope but since it was within limits of normal envelope you don't pay package or flat rate, so yes too much postage if you worry about that 😃

Happy Fall

An older technique but fun to create to show both sides of papers. For my message I used color layering cool fox set by Hero Arts with dew drop morocco ink, tangelo twist stitched satin ribbon and autumn wooden elements embellishments both by SU as well as the DSP which I don't know the name as I took the packaging of and it's pretty old I think

Happy Independence Day

Today is our Independence Day in Mexico. I made this card using some left over items I had in my unfinished box as I ran out of time this time around. For this card I don't know why but I started by cutting all my layers even glue everything except for the top that I stenciled. Since it was for Bret only and yes it's not his holiday but since I get to celebrate all the US holidays he gets to celebrate all my holidays too and that includes he gets the cards for them 😀 this card was about 5x7 give or take everything was to match my message that means I cut my message with Rectangle stitched Framelits by SU then cut extra 3 layers with scrap cardstock, then mounted it to Recollections 110 lb. red punch cardstock pack, another scrap of white and Recollections 65 lb. feathered green cardstock pack then measure a piece of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock for my layer to stencil and then cut my other piece of red, white and green to match the frame I wanted and mounted those into a card base of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock.

For my stencil piece I used Tim Holtz distress broken China with Ergonomic blending tool brush and DIY cloud stencil from cloud slimline dies and Tim Holtz distress pumice stone with Erin Lee Creative blending brush and DIY pebbles ground from pebbles die by Elizabeth Craft Designs. My dress was done years ago with my Brother Scan N Cut and I wanted to add a flag but couldn't find it but found a sticker so added that. Then glue message and finally attached to the rest of the pieces

Happy Granpa's Day for real

Turns out I was looking at the wrong day last Sunday so today is actually Grandparent's day since it's always the second Sunday in September. That's what happens when you don't leave the house and one day turns into the next and they all seem the same and when you look at the calendar you really don't know what day is today and since Bret worked the holiday it was just another week LOL lucky for him he got two cards.

This card was originally done for my donation box for Gray Matters Foundation but I kept a couple for personal use which help me so I had a card to give Bret in a flash. This time the message was computer generated as I wanted something small and since there isn't any message that says what I wanted I had to used multiple stamps last week and they were all sizes. For the rest, I started stamping my leaves on a layer of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 100 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock with Altenew crisp dye ink green fields collection frayed leaf, green meadows collection just green from Color layering parrot stamp set by HA; with Altenew crisp ink green valley collection shadow creek, grass field, tropical forest collection parrot, and Tropical chic stamp set by SU then I cut the piece and mat it with a layer of Recollections 65 lb. feathered green cardstock pack that was die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A die which then I mounted to my card base done with Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock. I die cut a Bamboo tree die I had on my stash and then aside I had stamped on Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock with Color layering Koala stamp set by HA and Altenew crisp dye ink coffee break collection sand dunes, rocky shore, espresso the Koalas the baby was die cut 3 times I think or maybe 4

This is the other card I made for personal use and I used beautiful inside stamp set by Altenew with VersaFine Clair nocturne

and this is like the cards that went for my donation box with a computer generated message as this message is special for this Foundation. If you have time I have added their turtle in my blog if you click on it you can go check their website

Happy Grandparents' Day

Wishing all grandparents and specially step-grandparents a wonderful day. I gave this card to Bret in celebration of his day.

Started with a layer of Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock then stamped my rooster from Color layering rooster stamp set by HA using Altenew crisp dye ink: warm gray collection morning frost, rock gray collection silver stone, pure graphite, red cosmos collection coral berry, ruby red and from the Rooster layering combo cube inks: butter bar, pumpkin pie. Then I ground the rooster with a stamp tree leaves by Stampendous on one side of the stamp I did stamped off the ink on the other side stamped straight on Altenew crisp dye ink coffee break collection sand dunes and delectable delights collection vanilla cream, delectable delights collection hazelnut, coffee break collection rocky shore. Then I stamped twice the chicken wire background stamp with Gina K Designs amalgam whisper ink. I didn't want to add a label for my message so I made a frame with Polygon Thin Frames by Honey Bee Stamps so it shows the chicken wire and all behind. The message is from Man Day stamp set by Technique Tuesday with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. Finally I added a tiny black pearl as an eye. Mounted on a layer of Park Lane 110 lb. smooth black solid core cardstock and a base of Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock
