Thanks OSW

These cards were done for the Brain tumor foundation, another of my donation places. After I did these cards I had again some papers left and it was too pretty to waste so OSW style cards was my solution to use it all up

For these I used Honey Bee stamp set and Hero Arts with tuxedo black ink

For these I used Pink and Main also with tuxedo black ink

and last but not least for these Winnie & Walter set and Hero Arts set also with tuxedo black ink

You are amazing

A friend of mine told me about a new place to send cards to http://www.bringsmilestoseniors.com/, they have two offices one in MI and one in FL. They give cards to seniors in nursing homes and around the community if you like to check their web site and if you like to help them would be a good place to recycle the cards you get from mingles/swaps. Because my parents are seniors and I was taking care of Bret's aunt plus my friends are all seniors and now that I'm in that club even though I'm the youngest in the club I know the importance that a card makes when no one else is around. Anyway I will be showing some of the cards I sent on the box I sent them last month

When I made this I had some papers left so of course didn't want to waste them and decided to use them on the OSW style cards. I used the celebrate you sale-a-bration die set by SU, die cut a few of them and mounted them on top of each other for dimension then stamped part of a message from thanks stamp & cut set by Hero Arts with rich cocoa and punched them out with duet punch from SU which were mounted on foam

Shoebox Thursday by Darlene

For today's project we used one of the multi-layer butterfly dies that are so cold I believe it was Birch Press Designs. Darlene had different colors for us to choose as well as words, I chose teal and decided not to put any words on my cards so I could let all the design to show maybe next time I use my dies I will add words but this time I wanted it to show how it was. The dies are 3 different plates whice each die can be use individually or together to give dimension

Flowers in a vase

In one of my Yahoo groups we had a mingle (aka swap) that the theme was flowers on a vase, pot or arranged as bouquet. We try to change something on the theme so even if we use the same thing as flowers is not just plain flowers even if we used flowers before. So this time even though we had to use flowers in the card they had to be either in a vase or pot or arrange in a bouquet so this was my take.

Recently I was reorganizing my stamps and remember I had this old set by Dee Gruenig that hadn't use in a very very long time so decided to use it as it was just perfect for this mingle it had everything I needed, flowers, vases and even messages. For the base I use mocha ink for my vase I used autumn blaze and orange cream inks for the flowers I used dual markers cottage ivy, tangelo, lady bug & lilac poises, for the message I used tuxedo black. I cut my layer with Stamps of Life stitched rectangle die and sponged sunkissed ink. I also put two pieces of ribbon behind my white layer that was tangelo twist by SU

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I made a card that was inspired by something I saw online but sadly I don't remember where I saw it to give proper credit it was done with flowers. I did mine with butterflies using ornamental butterflies set and matching die by Poppy Stamps. We stamped the 3 bigger shadow butterflies around and then two of the smaller butterflies to fill the white areas with pink diamond ink then picked one of the big butterflies and stamped the second layer with pinkalicious ink. On a separate paper stamped another big butterfly both the shadow and design and die cut it, sponged the edges so there was no white edge then mounted on top of the other and added some pearls. The layers were done with Stamps of Life stitched rectangles

Resting elk

I wanted a male card and of course I always go for the clean and simple. I used nature's wish set by CTMH, I stamped it with rich cocoa and the trees with Sahara sand, then cut my layers with stitched square dies by The Stamps of Life first I was going to attach as normal but decided to go off center as I had just decided to do a mingle aka swap in one of my Yahoo groups with this theme and liked it, not easy to do for someone with OCD but nice. I stamped gorgeous grunge all over the base with Sahara sand ink before attaching my layers. The messages with is a stamp without a company name was stamped also with rich cocoa ink

Birthday easy pull up card

Today is Bret's birthday and this is the card I made for him. I saw the card on Pinterest which lead me to Samantha Clayton's blog and she has lots of 3D cards and projects as well as other techniques and ideas, a lot of them with tutorials. Samantha called it easy pull up card but since I saw hers I have seen others and they have other names

It's a little thick to mail so extra postage is require and in the US you have to pay extra for square cards and once again this one is too big that I didn't have an envelope and yes I could make one if I need to mail one but in this case I don't give one to Bret. I really enjoy making this and did try to figure out how to make it smaller but the stamping area was way to small for me to add a nice size sentiment for anything else would be good.

The crab is a die by Elizabeth Craft Designs, all stamping was done with rhubarb stalk ink. The ribbon was SU the big circle punch is EK and the small is MS

this stamp is by My Sentiments Exactly

this message is from a very old SU set

Shoebox Thursday

For today's project I had a fun card made with one of Concord & 9th's turnabout stamps. This one is the mosaic and I used one of the sets by Gina K Designs that I got with one of her kits. I wanted to try her inks and this was a good way to do it as I liked the stamp set. The inks are nice bright colors what I didn't like much was that for dye inks they really stain the stamps but oh well. The message is block and script sentiments 2 by The Stamps of Life.

My original card was this but when I made it I was just playing with the stamp as I hadn't used it and I just grab a piece of paper I had on my desk and I didn't even measure it then I grabbed the set and stamped the message and cut it to fit the without realizing that the it was bigger than A2 which in a way it doesn't matter much to me as for my personal use I used A6 envelopes but my friends use A2 envelopes so

I fixed the card to go the other way and violà problem solve it fits on an A2 envelope with no problem

Stampin Up Workshop

Today we attended the monthly SU workshop with one of the local demonstrators in Des Moines. We get to make 3 projects.

The first project was a 3x3 note card because we were using the itty bitty greetings set we got to pick our message or at least I picked a different one from the sample. Also we got to pick our color of the note card from all of the in colors. I chose fresh fig
and for the fern or leaves I used lemon lime twist ink. The flower is from pop of petals set and it has a matching punch

For the second card, we used again the itty bitty greetings so again I picked the message I wanted even though it was different as the sample with tuxedo black ink we also used serene garden set (the butterfly) with tuxedo black ink and colored it with their alcohol markers rich razzleberry and old olive and the coordinating die was garden scene. The DSP is from share what you love specialty pack

Last but not least, again we used the share what you love specialty pack DSP, lovely floral textured impressions embossing folder, tailored tag punch, love what you you set with tranquil tide ink, share what you love artisan pearls and velvet ribbon

Father's Day guitar

This is the card I made for Josh for his second year as dad to our beautiful grand-daughter Samantha.

It's like Bret's card but I made it smaller, mailable 4.5" and this time since I was cutting papers I cut in the right direction so it can stand on its own although I don't think he displays our cards. For this one I decided to cover the inside so you didn't see the folds, on the outside it had the folds and all but on the inside it was nice and neat. The message is by My Sentiments Exactly

Father's Day

This is the card I made for Bret for father's day. I saw the card at Samantha Clayton's blog and because it's hand-delivered I don't care much about the size, it is flat enough to mail but I didn't have any envelopes big enough for this card as it needs from 6-3/8" to 6.5" square envelope to Bret I don't even put the cards in envelope so no problem.

I was trying the fold to see how easy it was so I was using a paper I had cut for a OSW and when I started cutting I didn't realized that the orientation was the "wrong" way after finishing the card I liked it so decided to used it even though it had the wrong orientation. The inside message is by Stampendous with tuxedo black. I did glue down my flaps and you still have the dimension on the front

Dia del Padre

This is the card I made for my dad for father's day. He collects postage stamps so decided to use an old paper I had and for this card made it a little different by using the cancelled postage stamps as closure on each part of the fan fold. The cancelled postage stamps are stamps by Stamp Francisco stamped with vintage photo ink to cut them out I used mini scallop Fiskars edger scissors. The inside message is feliz by Ellison with walnut stain ink
