Shoebox Thursday by Darlene

Butterfly egg

I wanted a quick and simple card with this die but picked the wrong glitter paper to play with so got frustrated and gave up. I used I believe last years SU's freebie during sale-a-bration and I hate it! glitter goes everywhere! it's too thick to die cut anyway after 3 cards I just decided to give it up.

I used butterfly swirl egg steel craft die by Memory Box, the frame is Pretty Pink Posh scallop ovals

Stampin Up workshop

Today I attended a SU workshop with one of the local demonstrators with a friend. We got to make 10 cards 2 of each designs.

For the first cards, we used petal burst textured impressions embossing folder, beautiful bouquet set with daffodil delight, marina mist and garden green inks. The whisper white sheer ribbon was colored with daffodil delight ink. The dots were from another set but since it was just on a block don't know.

For these next cards, we used softly falling textured impressions embossing folder, a mother's flair stamp set with tuxedo black ink and stampin blends calypso coral, pearl and very vanilla lace trim

For these next cards, I changed the layout a little because when I set up the stamps on the stamping tool I didn't see the sample that the ribbon was on the bottom so didn't leave enough room so I left the room in between the message and the wheel.

We used friendship's sweetest thoughts set with tuxedo black ink, we were to color with stampin write markers but I colored with Copic markers, also I added a tiny pearl to each flower. On the sides we embossed partially one of the petal pair textured impressions embossing folders. The ribbon is soft sky classic weave

For these cards, we used lovely wishes set with tuxedo black. We didn't see that it was a two step stamping so we only stamped the outline and decided to color in. My friend wanted to do colored pencils and I did Copic markers

I also changed a bit how I ended up my card, I glued my flap down and then I also glued my ribbon behind my top layer. I believe on the original card the flap was loose so the layer was just glue to the flap and you could see the whole ribbon go up and down.  The paper on the sides are one of the sale-a-bration freebies springtime foil specialty DSP, the ribbon is old olive sheer

and the last two cards were different as we got to pick what we wanted to do with the 5 choices. We were using the Tutti-frutti DSP and Itty bitty fruit punch pack since you could only punch 5 fruits that was the choices we had. I chose strawberry and watermelon. Probably I did my own thing other than gluing the layers and ribbon, as I didn't remember how the samples were...I was just concentrating on stamping and getting everything together that didn't really pay attention on how the cards were LOL

So for both card we used whisper white grosgrain ribbon, 1-3/4" circle punch, 2" circle punch, the set we used was fruit basket and for this card was real red, garden green and Bermuda bay inks

for this card was real red, lemon lime twist and night of navy inks

Stainglass cross

When I made these I was left with the negative parts which I glued to a black arch piece for a later used well it has taken almost two years but finally did something to with them!

I stamped the flowers from indescribable gift set by SU with picked raspberry stamped off all over the pink paper then mounted my arched window which is a die by Spellbinders, the grand gothic stain glass left overs are from a Poppy Stamps die. The cross is from the cross & lilies dies set by Spellbinders and Heartfelt Creations

Red wedding

And this is the other wedding card I made my sister. For this one I decided to cut the dies 5 times and mount them on top of each other to give dimension and then add pearls. The message is by Uptown Stamps with rhubarb stalk ink. Because of the dimension it would cost more to mail but she was hand-delivering this card so it didn't matter

White wedding

My sister asked me for two wedding cards so this is one of the cards I made. I used white glitter paper for the heart and flowers and then just pearls for extra pop. I used bloomin heart thinlits by SU, the message was wedding day by Penny Black with London fog ink since I don't emboss needed something sort of light but that will show

Spring is in the air

We had some spring days which means wet, cool and windy and some sun breaks but still not warm enough. Not really complaining but I'm a summer person love it if it's over 78 every single day during the day and rain at night but dry again and 78 during the day LOL

This chick and egg die by Memory Box is one of those dies I bought long time ago and never got to use. Not sure what my thought was when I bought it but I did, anyway finally did something.

I used background paper for my sky, my grass are two dies by Memory Box, prairie grass and pasture grass, I cut my chick first then decided where I wanted it on my egg and cut my egg then of course had to decorate my egg and for that I used one of the stamps on the set thanks by Honey Bee Stamps with worn lipstick stamped off

Spring is in the air

We are officially in spring, I know according to the news it started yesterday but since I was a little girl in school we were taught that spring started today. There was no school mainly because it was Benito Juarez day but there was also the spring parade so I don't care what the news say to me spring starts today even though spring isn't any warmer now than it was a few weeks ago!

I made this card with flower soft, the tree frame stamp is by Memory Box stamped with amaretto truffle fresco ink.

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox I had another Easter card. This time the idea came from Craft by Beth. She had a nice thinking of you card that could be use for sympathy as well as Easter or something else using the new SU cross of hope. So I took her idea and did a clean and simple totally Easter card as I used Easter eggs paper and my cross is one from and old Spellbinders set that I don't know if the name is crosses or crosses one is discontinued die set so couldn't not find anything as most people that have used the die never put anything other than cross die or Spellbinder die 😌 now I know how you must feel sometimes when you come here I don't give full info on the supplies I use 😀 anyway, here is the card. The message is from the new release Easter blessings by Pretty Pink Posh with rose bud ink

Template or Technique

On one of my Yahoo groups for the month of January and February we had a technique to play with which I didn't play until recently. The first month was one way and the second month we altered well this was my take.

The set I used was lacy scrolls by Altenew. I used post-it tape to cover my area for the message then I used one of my stamping tools to align my stamps. On one side I aligned the flowers, which were stamped with orange cream and warm sunshine inks and on the other side the leaves, which were stamped with bamboo leaves ink that way I could stamp everything at once as I could just then rotate the paper and stamped again. Removed my tape and stamped the message with tuxedo black which was in another stamping tool, and it's happy set by Hampton Arts. Then I decided there was too much white so I grabbed my timeless textured set and used the dots and used sunkissed ink stamped off to stamped all over
