Get Well

One of the Sunday Tip or Technique was using one of the sale-a-bration folders this year with an Easter card inspired by a card by Lisa Curcio or maybe it was the spotlight with marker not sure but since I had the folder I did it with the folder and didn't do an Easter card first because to me that didn't look Easter just spring and even though Easter 95% of the time falls in spring I can't do a spring card for Easter LOL second I needed a get well card and that was more appropriate.

I used a shimmery paper I had to emboss the country floral dynamic textured impressions embossing folder, then I die cut my circle frame from the wreath builder kit by Gina K Designs and set it on top of the embossed paper so I could color with Copic markers just what I needed, when I was done mounted my frame with foam; I stamped my message by Savvy stamps with 3 inks that sort of matched the Copic markers angel pink, pear tart and dandelion

Dragon fly

After I made this card I had cut out a piece off that of course I wasn't going to toss as it was a nice size but at the time I didn't know what I wanted to do with it so I threw it in my unfinished box so this is what I ended up making.

The tall grass is from God's creations by Two Paper Divas with night of navy ink, the background was done with Copic airbrush system, layers with double stitched rectangles dies by Kat Scrappiness, the dragon is by Spellbinders, cut two one in vellum and then in navy blue and added rhinestones

Paper Pumpkin

These were alternative cards from the June 2018 Broadway Star kit. Except for the card base in both cards and the Gingham gala adhesive-backed sequins on the second card everything else was from the kit, and I used softly falling textured impressions embossing folder on the bottom card just to give a little texture the the card

Thinking of you

This was a quick card inspired by a card by Meg Daves. Loved the simplicity, hers was one layer card but I really don't like one layer cards for the most part my OCD clicks in and always end up having a layer. Because I used SU's rectangle stitched framelits and I just wanted 1/8" border between my layer and my base my card is a bit smaller than A2 as the first layer is a weird size not even a 4x5-1/4 anyway, I stamped my buffalo check by SU with lemon lime twist ink which goes perfectly with the organdy ribbon in the sale-a-bration pack and the message is also stamp with same ink

Happy Birthday gift card

This was a fun card fold, love trying different fold cards so when I saw this one at Patty Bennett had to try it. I don't send or give a lot of gift cards and when I do it's a last minute thought but this card it could be done for other things not just gift cards you could just note card for your personal note.

I used a paper pack from The Paper Studio, the tab and tags were left overs from past paper pumpkins, the stamp is from all shook up December 2014 paper pumpkin set with VersaFine Clair nocturne

Majestic birds card kit

These cards were done with Stamp On It! glitter film & vintage hues card kit 1. The kit comes with everything but I decided to switch my frames so I made my own and I also changed the white glitter paper that came with the paper for gold glitter paper

Hello Beautiful

This was another card front that was finished and I just had to put into a card so I added the message from HA's color layering swan set with VersaFine Clair nocturne, I made my frames with double dotted rectangle dies and my piercing stencil well since it was so long ago I can't remember and I had no note

Happy Birthday

Today is Bret's birthday and after I saw the card from Stamp with Anna I knew I had to make one but I changed my card to one single piece instead of having two pieces just easier for me. Guess my OCD makes me thinks better ways to do things with less cutting 😊

I used lift me up set with Paris dusk ink for my message and I cut it with rectangle stitched framelits die both from SU

Because I don't like my personal message to show I decided to add a cover and since it kept opening I added a closure with a magnet

It's your day

While checking my unfinished box found a bunch of card pieces that pretty much all I had to do was either put together and add message and some if I wanted didn't even had to add message and it was a finished card. Not sure why I never finished those projects or maybe I was cleaning my desk and put them on the box and out of sight out of mind and since I the box got put in the closet totally forgot about it for years!!

For this card I just had to add the message everything was in the pocket, message was stamped with VersaFine Clair nocturne

Warm wishes

I made this card that forgot to post and since it doesn't have anything about "cold" weather on it figure I could post now LOL I saw a Christmas/winter card made at Stamp with Anna with this fold and technique so decided to do it at the end couldn't do the shaker part as I didn't have any parts that went with my cup no beige or brownish beads or sequins so left the shaker part empty. I used The Stamps of Life stamps and matching dies hot cocoa, they were one of the stamps of the month. The ink I used was ground espresso and I ground my cup on the front with a Copic marker, because I never marked any of my washi tapes don't who makes this one

Thank you

I had to make a birthday card and my stamping friend likes red so this is what I made using an idea by Stamp by Susie. I also needed thank you cards so made extra cards for my stash with the same design. Seems like I'm always needing thank you cards and hate making them at the last minute. Except for the message obviously, on both cards I used the same things which is paper doily, assorted fresh fruit shapeabilities die by Spellbinders which I colored with blending tool and ruby red and moss inks and mounted on foam; the message was also mounted on foam and was stamped on a decorative label punch by SU with ruby red ink, the birthday was just a gift wood stamp that doesn't have a name and the thank you is a stamp by Stampa Rosa

Thinking of you Ombre

This week we have as a Sunday Tip or Technique the ombre technique with ink but it can be done any way we want as long as we use the technique, even though I will be playing with it hopefully soon with inks wanted to show it with a card I made just with paper as it was already like that.

I used the flower from gift of love hostess set by SU with ground espresso ink, the Spanish message if from CTMH's happy to be friends same ink. The English message is by Endless Creations

Happy Father's Day

Last father's day card, our youngest is now technically a step dad so I decided to make him a card for father's day. My first year here on mother's day with his dad I was like him, just living with dad so technically wasn't step mom yet but I think you do have some sort of responsibility when raising a child whether you are married or not so he deserves a card.

I used my freebie set from Creative Stamping Magazine, the focal point was stamped with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and all the other images with London fog. The message is from man day set by Technique Tuesday with VersaFine Clair nocturne and cut with MFT vertical stitched strip, the brad I got at Impress

for the inside I decided to add a cat since all the front images are dog related 😊

Happy Father's Day

Hoping all father's out there are having a wonderful day. This is the card I made for Bret and it's an alteration to his birthday card.

For my background I stamped my sailor's delight stamp by Rubber Marbles on a Concord & 9th happy hues started half card with black licorice hybrid ink, the happy father's day and the Space Needle are like floating on the card they're on the acetate. The Space Needle is a Savvy Stamps die

Once again, just like on his birthday card I made a cover for the message and added a magnet to keep it close.

Feliz Día del Padre

Father's day in Mexico is the same day as in the States. The card I made my dad was inspired by something Jennifer McGuire did a while ago with a puzzle die. Growing up my dad was always doing puzzles and playing memory games sometimes with us sometimes alone it was his way of keeping his mind sharp so that's what got me the idea of making him this card.

This was the original card I posted that was unfinished card

This is what the card would be all put together

and this is without the puzzle pieces. Because it was a little difficult I decided to stamp the puzzle to make it easier, yes it's cheating but at the end it shouldn't be so hard to see your own birthday card 😊 so although I wanted him to work at it didn't want him to struggle

this is how my dad is getting his card plus a note saying he has to put together his own card to see be able to see it.

I used The Stamps of Life set lighthouse2stamp with Gina K amalgam ink jet black ink (like 4 times to get a nice black ink) and coordinating die to mask. I colored the lighthouse with Copic Markers, the background was done with my Copic airbrush system and some blending tool and broken China. The words are from Guy greetings SU's set but the Spanish version Saludos entre amigos by SU with Gina K amalgam ink jet black. The die I stamped with London fog as I just wanted a light image

Día del Padre/Father's Day

I made this card in Spanish and English one for my brother and one for one of the kids. I normally try to make different cards for special occasions but I liked this card and I figure it was fine to give it to them as at the end it was made specially for them any way

I used guy greetings set but the Spanish version saludos entre amigos set by SU with amalgam ink jet black, the spotlight area was done with rectangle stitched framelits die also by SU and double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness

For the English version I used a Sweet Impressions stamp same ink

I didn't want to toss the piece that came out and I didn't know what to do with it so decided to attach it to the inside my message would be going under plus our personal message. Normally I don't decorate the inside just because but when there is an extra piece like this I just don't like to waste it

Butterflies

I had forgotten to post this card I made after seeing I think Sharon Armstrong's card don't know how she did hers but I made two cards to see which was better since I have a bit of OCD on both cards I used color burst brights watercolor powders and the butterflies thinlits dies by SU as well as Kat Scappiness double stitched rectangle and one the first one a double dotted rectangle die.

The difference between the two was that on the first one I used foam for my frame to create my dimension I did use the pieces of die cut butterflies for the center dimension and on the second I used full layers of the die to make my dimension it was more tedious since you had to get all the bits and pieces out of the die even if it was easy but I liked it more

Hello

Since I had the pineapple set by The Stamps of Life had to do another card before I had to return the dies to my girlfriend 😊. For my background was done with an embossing folder by Park Lane, it's a new line I have been seeing at Joann Fabrics. The outline of the pineapple was stamped with black licorice hybrid ink and the layers were done with rich cocoa, dandelion and bamboo leaves inks, the message with VersaFine Clair nocturne

Wear a Crown

When I first got the stamp of the month by The Stamps of Life wasn't sure about it, really don't like food images but the sample card had some nice cards so ended up buying the coordinating set and at first thought I ordered the die but couldn't find it but since a friend and I get the club and she is Die Hard she lend me her die so I didn't have to fuzzy cut my pineapples until I order my dies.

For the outline I used black licorice hybrid ink, for the layers cantaloupe, rich cocoa, cottage ivy, for the message VersaFine Clair nocturne

Love

This was a quick card I made using some scrap papers I had on my desk I was going to toss them but had the die on my desk for an anniversary card and it just work for it so one thing let to another and instead of recycling the paper it became a quick anniversary card. The die is block party love by Taylored Expressions

Paper Pumpkin

This was the other card from the Manly Moments May 2018 kit again the kit had just a banner on it and this was my alteration to it. The eagle is from wildlife designer dies by Little be and the border is from a Christmas die

Saturday, June 8, 2019

Paper Pumpkin

For my Manly moments May 2018 kit it had two very simple cards so my alteration to one of them was this. Instead of adding a banner I added the seagulls that were from Stampendous with smoky slate ink

Stair step butterflies

In one of my Yahoo groups we had one of the Sunday Tip or Technique that was this fold and it was set up as a mingle (aka swap) because of my OCD I could not use dies and I really don't like fuzzy cutting so having the butterfly duet punch on my desk decided to use it. I color a bunch of butterflies with Copic markers on heavy cardstock so you couldn't see the coloring on the back and then I was able to punch and attach wherever I wanted. So used butterfly gala set by SU, the grass is from Easter eggs set by G-Rated Rubber Stamps with peeled paint and mowed lawn inks, also added some "weeds" from SU's set enjoy life with crushed olive ink, the message is on VersaFine Clair nocturne, stamped it on a scrap paper punched it with word window and glued it on the card so it's white on white
