Double diagonal card fold

When I saw this image I thought of my dad. He smoked pipes & cigars while growing up...not anymore but he still has his collection of pipes. So finally got to make the card.

The image is by Justinklined and I colored it with Copic Markers

I learned how to do this fold from Beccy's Place blog

Gate fold

Yesterday I couldn't come up with what to do with this image until today. I love making different card folds but not always do, anyway I remember last week's Tuesday try this so decided to try it. It was making a frame with dies. If you use the right sandwiches on your machine you're able to cut and emboss at the same time, but I used my stylus to make the frame. When using SU magnet plate and regular cutting mats it doesn't do it. Used stamping sponge with memento rich cocoa for the edge and also stamped the deer head with same pad. The image is by The Old Island Stamp Company.

Father's day card

This is another design for donation. The images are a stamp set by Local King Rubber Stamps. I'm sure there is a name for the fold but since I just did the the folds so it could have a dimension don't know if there is one somewhere.

Shoebox Thursday

Today was my turn to do the shoe-box project and since Linda wanted to learn how to do the tissue technique that's what I did. I showed them how to do the faux silk, tissue & dryer sheet technique. These were the samples BUT I let everyone choose what flower to stamp, the project was for them to do the tissue technique but learn the other also. Since Easter is next month I wanted to make an Easter card. Sort of getting them in the mood to make cards for the holiday.

Back in the day when we started our group we used to exchange cards for each holiday or special day but now with the new group we don't seem to do that we're only two from original group.

Tissue technique. Image by Make an Impression colored with Memento dual markers

Faux silk technique. Stamped with Memento dual markers and colored with Copic markers

Tissue technique colored with different Memento dual markers and although the picture doesn't show I added shimmer spritz after I finished the whole card.

Dryer sheet technique. Image by Local King Rubber Stamp stamped with Memento dual markers and of course the picture doesn't show the glitter which I don't know who makes it as we used to sell it at Rubber Marbles with our label

Building block card

A couple weeks ago...I think :0)...the week's project at SplitcoastStampers was this fun fold card. I decided to put a backing on my card, didn't like it too much the "holes" or opening on back

The image is by Art Impressions and I colored it with Copic markers

Pop-up box card

Seems like everyone is making this kind of cards so decided to give it a try, to see how easy or how much time it would take me to make more. The box itself from cutting, scoring, folding and decorating was not even 15 min and the pop-up butterflies maybe another 20 min. I used the clear packaging to attach the butteflies (the one where the dies, embossing folder etc comes in) I was going to use acetate but this was sturdier.

When you get it out of the envelope it's a 4x4 fold card and this is how it will look

This is the box open

Mother's day card

I'm working on some cards to donate and where I'm donating asked for mother's day & father's day cards so this is one of the design cards I made, did it in different colors as wanted to play with my markers. I love trying new folds and this lever fold was on my list to try.

The image is by Make an Impression and I colored it with Copic markers.

This is the way the card would look when you get it out of envelope when mailing

Fun fold

Last week's Sunday Technique was this fun card idea, the tutorial was by Sharon Burkert. It's another easel type card which I love those type's of cards :0) you can mail flat but then it has dimension when getting out of envelope.

This is the view of it open

Closed look to Marci. Colored her with Copic Markers. She's supposed to be standing on a field of cloves.

Stampin' Up Spring Card Bash

I attended another SU workshop. We had 10 cards to make BUT one of them was for kids so didn't make it. Some of these cards have been on my to do list so glad Dar & Luci had them for us so I can decide whether I want to remake or not :0)

You can barely see but the label has a pricked frame

Picture doesn't show the "grass" which was done with the fringo scissors...still not sure if I care for them although I had thought of getting them more than once.

Stampin' Up Club

Today was club and we had 6 projects

There was supposed to be a little green border around the lattice but i wasn't paying attention when gluing and couldn't peel so had to stay without border :0)

I changed the tail of the bunny, what was used was one of those pom poms BUT it was way too big for this bunny so I switched it to a pearl

The tail/flag was supposed to be next to the flowers BUT I didn't pay attention when I was wrapping around the bottom and it ended up on the back...oh well is not like I never change things on projects :0)

Saint Patrick's Day

These are two of the cards I did for St Paddy's day

I used an old heart punch by Martha Stewart for the clove, and the two-step bird punch from SU for the stem

This one, other than the jewels everything is SU
