In Memory

Today we would have been celebrating my brother-in-law Steve instead we are just remembering his wonderful life that was taken from us before his birthday a day he always looked forward to.

After watching the pop up bridge card video by Jennifer McGuire wanted to play with this new die by Honey Bee Stamps lovely layers cherry blossom honey cuts which was perfect for the card to make my sister a sympathy card.

For the card base used Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. cover smooth white cardstock for background used brick wall paper from HOTP, for the cherry blossom I used only scraps of cardstock, 3 or 4 layers of brown for stability, blossoms and leave only one layer. For the message used hexi-gem sentiments hot foil plate & die set by Spellbinders with glimmer foil variety pack the polished brass total of 3 layers of the banner for stability

for the back decided to add a notecard with a closure of magnets so the flap wouldn't be flapping

Happy Retirement

After just over 28 years of service at SeaTac airport my husband Bret finally retired. He had been looking forward to this day for almost two years LOL

After watching pop up bridge card video by Jennifer McGuire of course a simple card like that would be the perfect card for him as seems this year haven't done any complicated cards for him. We have a 5th wheel but no one has dies for that and somebody directed me to this retro camper metal die by Erin Lee Creative that fit perfectly.

For the card base used Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. cover smooth white cardstock, for background paper used a paper from American Crafts. Everything else was die cut with scraps of cardstock, die cut the bottom of the camper in white 3 times for stability then started die cutting the other pieces only once of gray, for the window of the door as well as the other window used vellum, for the tire also added a scrap of mirror silver cardstock and for the light orange. To ground the camper added a piece of washi tape that I got at Impress to a white cardstock and then glued 2 more pieces for stability then glued that to the card then the camper; for my message used happy retirement duo foil plate and matching die by Waffle flower total of 3 layers for stability with glimmer foil opaque black by Spellbinders

for the back added a notecard with a closure of magnets so the flap wouldn't be flapping
