On the sixth day of Christmas, Feliz 31

This sixth day of Christmas and New Year's Eve I see back to what 2016 was for us and too many important things happened in our lives.

Bret and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary sightseeing

Josh got married this year and made us grandparents for the first time to a beautiful girl

which in turn, added two members to our immediate family

We also lost friends (Mary Hartness, Hal Bailey & Butch Woolbert) and family Aunt Hazel & Russell.

With all the bumps in her health, grandma recovered good and was able to celebrate the holidays with us

My youngest sister got to celebrate her 50th birthday doing/going on our dream trip to Australia

So all in all, it was a great year even though we had some losses.

Now for what you came to check my blog :0) this card was from the watercolor winter card kit from SU, most supplies were from the kit. The message is a stamp by Rubber Soul. This was also part of the donation box back in August :0)

On the fourth day of Christmas

For this clean and simple card I used the masking technique. I used again the Rubber Marbles stamp this time with rhubarb stalk the ornaments are from SU delightful decorations set with cottage ivy and rhubarb stalk ink. Instead of a rhinestone I used a metal nail head I found at Michaels. The top ornament is attached with dimensionals and was punched with the matching punch

On the third day of Christmas

For today's shoebox project I decided to make another Christmas card yes I now you probably are thinking why but we are still in Christmas for another 9 days so why not!!

I used a die set I haven't used in years by Lifestyle Crafts to make my card base, then cut an extra piece and that extra piece got embossed with the cable knit folder by SU, then I wanted some texture on the top of my stocking so embossed that part with tiny bubbles by Cuttlebug, to give a little dimension I sponged some rhubarb stalk ink to the edge of the stocking.

On the second day of Christmas

This was one of my Christmas cards this year. I picked my background paper then glued it to my card base then punched my circle with EK Success punch stamped my message by Rubber Marbles with cottage ivy ink then on the inside I stamped my pine cone stamp by Rubber Rhapsody...part of it with the same cottage ivy plus northern pine and glued my bird like if it was leaning on the circle. The bird was done with the bird builder punch by SU and pearl from my stash for the eye. I did a little sponging on the wing

On the first day of Christmas

I had to make a card with a car so decided to make it with an ornament. I was going to do something else but while surfing through my dies saw this Spellbinders die that I didn't remember using before so decided whatever car I used had to fit in it. First I cut my ornament and the little thingy of the top then using stamp positioner I stamped the car by Sparkle N Sprinkle making sure it all fitted in the ornament then sponged the edges and cover the whole thing with glossy accents let it dry completely and using pop up foam adhered to the rest of card. The folder is by Sizzix and the message is computer generated

Feliz Navidad / Merry Christmas

Hope you all have a wonderful day with the ones you love and if you can't be with then in person hope you talk to them, video chat or at least think of them :0) I know it's hard not able to be with those we love and those no longer with us.

I bought the coffee cup stamp set and die by Hero Arts which in a way was disappointed because of the size, somehow on the samples I saw on the internet they looked bigger more for a gift card or as a full-size card and when I got it they were too little but decided to keep so used them for my place card for the Christmas table. I stamped with rhubarb stalk and London fog, the top I colored with Copic Markers.

I cut a cork in half to stand them and of course, it had to have a treat but ended up having to put two chocolates because the weight wasn't even to keep it standing :0)

for Gary's I put a package of tic tacs because he likes to have a mint after dinner

For all the guests, I like them to have a little something, after all, is Christmas so everyone deserves a gift so I made something simple. I bought some holiday bags and added candies and made a topper. The red is part of seasonal greetings embossing folder by Cuttlebug, the stocking was done with SU's stocking builder punch and cable knit dynamic folder

Most of the bags were with Ferrero Rocher chocolates

but Auntie Janet doesn't like chocolates so her bag has one of my favorite cinnamon candies

and my sister loves chocolates but she doesn't like Ferrero Rocher so she got nuggets

And last but not least, this is the card I made for Bret this year. I was having a hard time with what to do just not my year :0) anyway the trees and sled are from Santa's sleigh framelits set by SU, the message is by Impress stamped with rhubarb stalk, the snow was cut with snow drifts die by MFT and of course the Tilda was stamped with tuxedo black and colored with Copic Markers. I don't know the name of the stamp, sorry

Shoebox Thursday by Candee

For today's shoebox project Candee had for us a Christmas card made with the notecards that SU sells, the packs that have 7 x 5 cards pre-scored at 3.5 with envelopes. Her sample had the wreath on top and didn't have a message but when I was stamping my wreath didn't pay attention and just stamped as normal so it ended up on the bottom, which was fine. Also, she had stamped the bow directly on the wreath on the inside but I decided to add the bow just like on the front and since she knows I don't like wet glues she brought out some red pearls from her stash for berries on the front wreath.

Personally, I don't like cards that are cut like this because of my OCD but since I'm not sending to anyone it's ok :0) it needed a little something on the top empty space so decided to add a message and instead of putting a Christmas message I put a thank you. Using my MISTI I was able to put the message on top layer and bottom so when closed it looks like the message is continued. All product are SU except for the pearls, wondrous wreath set with cherry cobbler, garden green, and wild wasabi ink, wonderful wreath framelits, simply wonderful SAB set with wild wasabi ink

Shoebox Tuesday

Today's shoebox project was inspired on a card I saw by Jasonw1 in Splitcoaststampers. My card of course it's sort of Christmas at least the colors I used :0) I used beautifully boxed set by Cuttlebug, it's one of those very old sets that had 4 embossing folders and a die. I fuzzy cut the bow as the die just cuts the outline of the gift box

One sheet wonder

One more set. For this set, I decided to make all cards the same...same stamp, punches, flag, etc. The stamp was from to you and yours too set by SU with rhubarb stalk and sweet plum, the oval, decorative label and scallop border punches are also SU, the flag or banner was hand done...did one and then used that as template to cut the rest so they would all be exactly the same :0)
