Create & Connect with Carissa Wiley

These were from the Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect Holiday 2022 Virtual Event. The Class 2 Beautiful snowflakes with Carissa Wiley.

For these, started by die cutting the large snowflakes coordinating cut dies and glued them to an A2 white layer that was mounted to an A2 white base then used one of the leftover die cut inside pieces of the Art deco frame stand alone cut to blend using with distress oxide tumbled glass, salty ocean and prized ribbon then die cut it with snowflakes coverplate die then die cut another Art deco frame stand alone cut in  heavy weight 250gm golden pearl elegant pearlized paper and mounted behind the blended piece and then mounted both to the card. Then die cut more snowflakes in gold and white and added one on top of the other and then added some gold metallic pearls that came in kit

The second card in her class was similar. Started by die cutting an A2 layer of white with s
nowflakes coverplate die then glued it an A2 white card base. On a leftover piece from the Art deco frame stand alone cuts blended with distress oxide tumbled glass, salty ocean and prized ribbon and mounted on the middle of card then added a strip of gold then die cut from the large snowflakes coordinating cuts two snowflakes with vellum and since it's hard to glue vellum decided to stamp a couple snowflakes from snowflakes background stamp with distress tumbled glass ink and die cut with matching die added a bit of salty ocean ink on the edges which doesn't show much and finally added some gold metallic pearls from kit

Colorful Happy Anniversary

For this card used scraps of paper and I actually used scraps LOL I have a die that make strips in different sizes in one cut and once I cut and used what I needed but had some more scraps and die cut extras until my bottle was full and that’s when I made these cards as I wanted to make room in my bottle as I don’t keep more if they don’t fit there. Anyway, I glued them on a text weight paper then die cut with nesting slim layers die by Waffler Flower then stamped with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and beautiful flowers stamp set then mounted do a layer of black that was die cut with same die set

Because it was started as a card for anniversary mingle aka swap used happy anniversary die by The Stamps of Life 3 times and heart enamel

Hello

For these cards were the same but the complementary message is what I changed. So did all cards up to the hello the same and then decided to make them different by changing the other message.

When making cards since you already have the supplies out it’s nice to make more than one card, you can make the same colors or switch colors in this case I just switch the message so everyone got a bit of a different card. Sometimes I do change the colors and same message it all depends on how I’m in the mood at the time LOL

Started by stamping be courageous slimline stamp set by PinkFresh Studio with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink then used the matching slim stencil set with distress ink dusty concord, fossilized amber, festive berries & carved pumpkin; fired brick, mermaid lagoon; mowed lawn, rustic wilderness

The die cut is in a word: hello cut away die by Winnie & Walter two layers and for the first message sentiments of love stamp set by Poppy Stamps with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

for this next one the message is say BDay stamp set by The Greeting Farm same ink

beloved bouquet stamp of the month set by CTMH same ink

beautiful day stamp set by Altenew same ink

Our heroes

It was time to honor the heroes in my town the Algona PD. We have a small police department normally 10 including the Chief and the office but this year we have two more so we are up to 9 officers plus the Chief and the 2 people in office so not many cards to make to honor the people need each time we call 911.

Started by die cutting my layer of black with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A and mounted to an A2 white card base. Then used happy hues started cards by Concord & 9 cut in half which die cut with double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness. Then stamped all the butterflies which is one whole image from butterfly brilliance stamp set by SU with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and die cut the matching Stampin’ cut & emboss dies brilliant wings dies with black glossy cardstock. Then using my Hero stamps & die set by Honey Bee Stamps with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink added the message two layers

Congrats wedding

Needed or wanted to make a wedding card so started by applying distress ink tumbled glass on country floral dynamic textured impressions embossing folder by SU on a layer of Core’dinations white pearl 65 lb. premium smooth texture pearlescent finish cardstock then with blending tools started adding distress ink carefully just so it would stay only on the raised areas, should have used applicator either flat or dome but brushes are always handy. Wilted violet, fossilized amber and worn lipstick, for the leaves I used rustic wilderness but with aqua painter. Mounted layer to an A2 white card base then on Core’dinations heavy weight 250gm golden pearl elegant pearlized paper die cut A2 thin frames by Honey Bee Stamps and used the biggest frame.

For message found one in my stash that had a shadow, I really like dies with shadow as it gives you the choice to use the words with or without the shadow. For this one the shadow was die cut with yellow vellum and the congrats was die cut 3 times in white and one in gold to match the frame.

Anemone branch

For these cards started by cutting white cardstock about the size of the Anemone branch layering stencils set by Altenew which was a different size I normally do for slimline but still fits inside a #10 envelope then started stenciling the leaves as I wanted to fit the whole leaves and flowers on the card and I was going to cut part of trunk to fit the vase in the card sitting on something. I used crisp dye inks and blending brushes. For leaves: just green, jet black; branch: dark chocolate; left flower: sunray, snapdragon, jet black; right flower: hydrangea, Andromeda, jet black.

For the vase used versatile vase mask stencil set also by Altenew with sea forest and mangrove root inks

Grounded the vase with distress oxide ink hickory smoke. The enamel dots are from Recollections.

For this one, leaves: just green, jet black; branch: dark chocolate; left flower: pink diamond, rubellite, jet black; right flower: coral berry, ruby red, jet black

For the vase another vase from versatile vase mask stencil set with lagoon and emerald inks

Grounded the vase with distress oxide hickory smoke ink. The enamel dots are from Recollections

Added message as I needed the cards. I like to leave cards without message and as I need to send whether is RAK (random act or kindness), birthday or anniversary or even mingle aka swap that's why having messages in my drawers is so helpful so I can just grab one unfortunately not many companies make message in Spanish so don't have with nice font whether in stamp or die to keep in my drawers

Create & Connect with Heather Hoffman

Took the Create & Connect Virtual Event by Pinkfresh Studio & The Stamp Market, although this time around I was out of town so didn't watch the event live or at all so far. Saw the sample cards from PDF and been working on my cards as I have time. From all the kits this was my favorite so had to start with this one. Folk snowflake bundle which included stamp set, die set, and stencil set. The class was done by Heather Hoffman and the make & take by Lea Lawson.

This was my take to one of the cards Heather made. Die cut the ornate rectangle frame essentials used the inner part then on the smaller frame used 3 layers two in white and one in glitter. Die cut 3 layers of snowflakes on one colored with the stencils with distress ink milled lavender, dusty concord and villainous potion. I opted not to add any clear drops since it already had glitter paper so clean & simple. Made birthday cards & New Year's Day so used a messages from my drawers and mounted all to an A2 card base

Die cut a bunch of the pieces of the balloon card borders Honey cuts die by Honey Bee Stamps in white and picked four colors from my scraps for the top then started layering the balloons in layers on a white slimline layer, at the end this card ended up being really heavy with all the cardstock but it was worth it as it was steady and even. Then mounted on a blue layer and then on a white slimline card base. For the message used wreath builder mini stamp set kit by Gina K Designs with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

Pocket calendar

About every 2 years my sister needs a pocket calendar and she likes the ones that have big squares doesn’t care what it’s on the front as she has been giving them to me to decorate, most time they are two years but it has been one year so we just have to remember so we can look for them when they are needed as they come out early in the spring and for the most part when they are gone they do not bring them back again at least Michaels stopped bringing them back and a couple other stores in our area are doing the same on anything that is calendar even though this have 2 years to them doesn't matter so hard to find the one she likes at times.

For this time around because she likes butterflies and red I found some clear acetate butterflies in red so cut my white cardstock to fit the covers then added Tim Holtz distress ink fired brick almost everywhere tried to leave some areas white mostly where the butterflies would be on, the piece that was going to be the front added a message from joyous sentiments sentiments stamp set by Altenew with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and the two years that the calendar has to make it easy to remember what years it has from the stamp set Journal stamps calendar in English by P13 also with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and put it back inside the pocket

I love to make winter cards since winter seems to stay for so long guess that's why I love this set. For this card, cut scraps of red and yellow and glued in a diagonal on a layer of white then die cut the ornate rectangle frame essentials using only the middle part, then die cut a snowflake in vellum and one in white on the white colored with the stencils with distress ink barn door, lumberjack plaid and fossilized amber then decided to stamp the image with Altenew ultimate metallic antique gold pigment ink cut in half and glued with the vellum which was also cut in half glued on each end on top of the frame then decided that since they were winter cards or New Year’s cards would use one of the messages from the set, die cut 3 glued them together and stamped with the same gold ink finally added clear drops that came in the kit and mount to an A2 white card base

Cozy Comfort Retreat with Carissa Wiley

I took the Altenew’s Cozy Comfort virtual retreat event that was 12 hours on October 7, 2023 with Jennifer McGuire, Kelly Taylor, Kristina Werner, Carissa Wiley & Therese Calvird. Well, I didn't do the 12 hours because they start way too early PST to me.

Another of the classes I watched was with Carissa Wiley and we were supposed to make two gift cards holders. The first I made just as a card the second didn’t make, not really have used for them.

On a layer of white, used the sweater pattern builder stencil set with crisp dye ink blush and die cut down to give about 1/4” border around. On another layer using birds of the season layering stamp set with crisp dye inks espresso, blush, dew drops, teal cave and fresh dye ink coral red and with through the window die set die cut all the branches then with a scrap of pink cardstock glue for message which since I was sending New Year's card added from Simon Says Stamp! Stamp set slimline scene builder Christmas STAMPtember with VersaFine Clair morning mist

Create & Connect make & take with Lea Lawson

Took the Create & Connect Virtual Event by Pinkfresh Studio & The Stamp Market, although this time around I was out of town so didn't watch the event live or at all so far. Saw the the sample cards from PDF and been working on my cards as I have time. From all the kits this was my favorite so had to start with this one. Folk snowflake bundle which included stamp set, die set, and stencil set. The class was done by Heather Hoffman and the make & take by Lea Lawson.

I needed our thank you cards for Christmas gifts so made some thank you cards but also wanted some New Year's so also made some with same design.

Started by using one of the layered stencils from geometric tile with Altenew ultimate metallic antique gold pigment ink on the white panel then mounted to a blue layer that was attached to an A2 white card base. Then die cut the ornate rectangle frame essentials 3 times two in white for dimension and one in lavender kept one white inner part glue all to what I had and then added a rhinestone in between each gold diamond. I like to die cut first then stencil my images so die cut 3 snowflakes and on one used distress ink milled lavender, dusty concord and distress oxide prize ribbon glued all 3 and glued to the rest then decided I wanted to stamp the snowflake image in gold which was a bit tricky as I don't do blocks just stamping tools and even with using my stamp positioning trick with acetate it was off a bit maybe because of the dimension I don't know but I'm the only one that would probably will see it's off

For the thank you cards used arch florals stamp set and coordinating cuts die set also by Pinkfresh Studio with Tim Holtz distress oxide ink dusty concord

and for the New Year's cards I just added message from my drawers and it's by HA

Joy in the New Year

I wanted to make cards for some of my online friends since I don't make Christmas cards. Too much pressure LOL these were fun to make. I made them in three colors.

Started by blending my layer of white cardstock then embossed it with snowy stars geometric 3D embossing folder by Altenew then reblended the layer as I didn't like the white showing cut it down and mounted to a die cut layer of black with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A and mounted to an A2 white card base. Then die cut the die set Joy also by Altenew, the shadow with vellum and the outline with glossy black cardstock then inlay with MB shimmering festive glitter 6x6 paper pad, the small message is from mini Christmas sentiments strips glimmer hot foil plat & die set by Spellbinder with the silver glimmer foil that came with the machine.

For this card used oxide inks salvaged patina, salty ocean & blueprint sketch

oxide inks salvaged patina, prize ribbon & villainous potion

oxide inks abandoned coral, lumberjack plaid & aged mahogany

Cozy Comfort Virtual Retreat with Kristina Werner

I took the Altenew’s Cozy Comfort virtual retreat event that was 12 hours on October 7, 2023 with Jennifer McGuire, Kelly Taylor, Kristina Werner, Carissa Wiley & Therese Calvird. Well, I didn't do the 12 hours because they start way too early PST to me.

The second class I watched was with Kristina Werner. We made 2 cards. The first card was masking, blending and embossing. The blending was with crisp dye inks sea glass, ocean weaves & desert night then we embossed with snowy stars geometric 3D embossing folder. We also stamped with joyous sentiments sentiments set same inks the snowflakes and die cut with coordinating dies joyous sentiments, die cut an extra snowflake for a bit of dimension. Used must have gel pen silver on every dot on the embossing folder. I didn’t put a message at the time of class as I don't do winter cards for Christmas but decided to make it a New Year's card so used desert night to stamped from holiday seasons message bundle by HA

For the second card, on a layer we used sweater pattern builder stencil with crisp dye ink limestone and silver stone leaving the center very light then cut the layer down giving about 1/2” border all around before gluing down I added washi tape and then added the snowman from through the window die set. Again, at the time of class didn't add message don't even remember where it went LOL but I decided to add a label next to the washi with my New Year's message and this one was from Simon Says Stamp! Stamp set slimline scene builder Christmas STAMPtember with VersaFine Clair morning mist

Create & Connect Holiday 2022 Class 2 Make & Take

These were from the Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect Holiday 2022 Virtual Event. The Class 2 Beautiful snowflakes Make & Take using all the extras in the kit.

Die cut Snowflakes coverplate die on white panel then with a leftover piece from the Art deco frame stand alone cuts die cut, mounted on the center just to break the pattern. Then on an additional piece of same cardstock I blended with the ergonomic brush and distress oxide for the big snowflake salvage patina, peacock feathers & uncharted mariner; for the medium snowflake shabby shutters, peeled paint & crushed olive; and for the small snowflake salty ocean & blue sketch then die cut them with large snowflakes coordinating cuts sprayed them with Imagine Sheer shimmer craft spray frost and mounted them to 2 more die cuts for dimension and mounted to card and finally added some metallic pearls: gold

Also, decided to add a New Year's message so from my drawers

Since I'm always mentioning my drawers figured I should show them to you. After my BIL Steve passed away, we were helping my sister clear his shed and she didn't need this any more and was going to go to the Goodwill and I was looking for something to put my messages because the pouches were not really working for me. They worked in a way because I had name of set and ink I used but didn't because I was always digging into the pouches, with this I don't know much about the message but it's easy to find a message I need. If I don't find something I want or need then I look for one and when I stamp it if it's one with a die I make extras and goes in the drawers

Twelfth Day of Christmas, Día de Reyes

For my Twelfth Day of Christmas, Día de Reyes, Epiphany I decided on playing with a new Thinlits die by Tim Holtz Alterations & Sizzix called wise men I got recently. Die cut one glossy black cardstock and 2 in regular black cardstock for the main three kings and for the star used metallic origami paper for the top and two layers of just scrap paper then set a side and then did my background. Grabbed a layer of mirri matte lava silver paper from the JoAnn & HA December 2021 card kit Merry Christmas card and used Tim Holtz alcohol inks with felt applicator the colors I used were stream, monsoon, turquoise and glacier and on the top eggplant. Let it dry and mounted everything and then to A2 white card base

Eleventh Day of Christmas

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas, I'm sharing some quick shiny cards. To start the cards I die cut with glossy black cardstock the ornament background die from Poppy Stamps which I made into a sticker before die cutting then die cut again all with festive glitter cardstock 6x6 pad by MB again made the glimmering cardstock a sticker before die cutting to make it easy the piecing then mounted on a white layer that was die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A and mounted to a layer of black cardstock that was die cut with infinity nested rectangle die set by HA and mounted to an A2 white card base.

on this one I loss the tiny pieces that go in the ornaments or tossed them so colored with Copic marker 100 I liked better with black than white.

And finally grabbed messages from my drawer

Tenth Day of Christmas

On this Tenth Day of Christmas, the card I share is one I did on our Wednesday Zoom class. I clean & simple fun card. It can be as a gift card holder or a note holder for now this is a note holder but it might be change to a gift card. How I decorated was just adding ink around my top layer and a bit on the main top layer with Tim Holtz distress ink fired brick but mostly was with whatever was in red brush and towards the end was running out of ink so that's when I added the fired brick. To anchor the cupcake Santa used Copic marker E40.

The message is from joyous sentiments sentiments stamp set by Altenew with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

Ninth Day of Christmas

On the Ninth Day of Christmas, I show you two of the cards I made on the use your stash not your cash workshop. It was a 12 hour workshop but only did the last class and the challenges. Saturdays are complicated and I had to work on my donation box. Anyway this class was Alysia and was using scraps I normally don't have scraps if they are too small they go in the recycle I have gotten to the point that if they are not big enough to use for a card they go to the recycle and after clearing my parents' house it's even easier to throw away things so for these cards I used a 6x6 paper pack that I cut for the card and for the second card I tear the paper that I that in strips.

On the first one was to mix the patterns not really on a specific pattern, I had done this type of card but just cardstock not pattern paper. Since we were using what we had in our stash used one message in my drawers of message

for the second card I covered the layer with adhesive then added the pieces of paper randomly covering as much as possible and wherever was not cover because I don't do wet embossing used leftover of variegated red gold metal leaf sheet by Monalisa Products Houston Arts Inc. then mounted to a die cut the layer of gold cardstock with infinity nested rectangle die set by HA and again just picked a message from my drawers

Eighth Day of Christmas

On the Eighth Day of Christmas, I show you the card I made for a mingle aka swap in one of my groups that was something to do with Christmas with gold or silver, I thought I already had my card ready but somehow guess I put it on my donation box because I couldn’t find the card so had to make one quickly as the deadline was coming up and since I had this new layering stencil by Bibi Cameron & Spellbinders snowflakes ornaments that was dying to use was easy decision although the stencil was a bit of a pain to use too many markings in my opinion that had to be masked so they didn't show but got it working. Made it in blues, silver & gold to cover both colors and well blue and silver always goes well. For the ornament bottom used Tim Holtz distress ink prized ribbon, for the next layer used Brilliance mineral ink with dome blending tool to be able to just use the silver color, the next layer was with the same prized ribbon but pretty heavy handed, the next layer with Altenew’s antique gold also with a dome blending tool as I have one designated just for gold pigment ink and finally the last layer with black soot. The message is from heart be light stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps with Tim Holtz distress oxide prized ribbon. I die cut my layer with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A and mounted to a layer of gold paper die cut with infinity nested rectangle die set by HA and mounted to an A2 white card base

Happy 2024! Seventh Day of Christmas

On the Seventh Day of Christmas we received the New Year amazing how fast the year went LOL but then again each time we turn to the new month or new year we say the same thing. I don't have any plans for this year other than hopefully I can send more donation cards than last year which means less birthday and anniversary cards but that is ok most of the people I send cards to I don't even know if they get my cards. I don't hear from most of them and it's not that I care much but the people I donate cards to are in need so is putting the balance people in need and people I don't hear from easy decision.

I made some of these cards and decided to send them as get well cards except for the one I gave Bret for New Year's.

Started by die cutting the poinsettia window fancy die by HA on a layer of white cardstock then used the color layering poinsettia window stencils with Tim Holtz distress oxide forest moss, mowed lawn, rustic wilderness, fossilized amber, wild honey, barn door, candied apple, lumberjack plaid, aged mahogany. Mounted to dazzling diamonds glimmer paper by SU then to a card base of Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock finally added the messages from my drawers.

For Bret's card I used a message that was hot foil silver on white flat across

for the get well, good wishes cards used 2 or 3 message glued together, these were also hot foil but was a different color and don't know since it's been in my drawers and don't have info there

I also made one card in white everything was the same except for the poinsettia that I added whatever gray ink was on my blending brush to add some color. For the message decided to add gold hot foil on green cardstock
