6th Day of Christmas

Happy New Year's Eve! 2022 was not a good year in many ways for my family & I. A year with several loses and bad health but we have learned to be thankful for the little things. We ended 2021 with the loss of my mom which we didn't have time to grieve her properly when we suffer an even greater loss my youngest sibling, my sister América who had barely turned 55 on Christmas Day, she passed on Valentine's Day.

Also, in February we lost my mom's sister so now she only has two sister's left out of 13 siblings. She was 87.

My godfather passed in April at age 86.

The son of one of the adoptive aunts passed in July.

There was finally a new COVID-19 vaccines that is good for a year just like the flu shot and you can get it both at the same time so for the plus side most people can get it together and two birds with one stone one trip no hassle and most pharmacies have walk-ins for both and they help with two illness that are so bad for us and for those that don't get the flu shot they can still get this and help with this pandemic that still over us. Queen Elizabeth II died after 70 years on the Monarch. Ukraine was attacked by Russia

On the happy moments my foster sister had her 3rd grandbaby born in February, Juliette. A cousin also had a grandbaby in April, Riker. A foster cousin also had another grandbaby in May, Edith.

Our niece moved to San Antonio for college. Our oldest granddaughter started 7th grade and she's into basketball and you can tell why LOL

and our youngest granddaughter started kindergarten she love ballet

Bret & I celebrated our 27th anniversary visiting Mt Rainier; most of the time being in the summer we get to have good weather and we can be away from people and out of the house for a change.

Now for today's card, used for all white cardstock Accent Opaque Digital International Paper cover smooth. Started by grabbing a layer of  80 lb. then stamped my image from holiday poinsettia candle precut stamp set by Heartfelt Creations with MFT Hybrid black licorice ink, did simple coloring with Copic markers.  For the centers I didn’t want to worry about the tiny dots while coloring with red so I just added tiny candy yellow jewel stickers by MB. Die cut with double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness and mounted to a layer of Park Lane 110 lb. smooth black solid core cardstock die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A and mounted to an A2 card base 120 lb. white cardstock. Then decided I wanted a message and picked hope from fight like a girl a special breast cancer stamp set by A Muse Studio and stamped it with VersaFine Clair nocturne twice

5th Day of Christmas

The this is part of the virtual event with Pinkfresh Studio from back in October. These cards were from the class 3 with Lea Lawson using winter foliage bundle plus other products from the kit.

For all cards used for all white was Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth white cardstock except for the card base that is Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock, all supplies are Pinkfresh Studio unless otherwise noted

4th Day of Christmas

For this card all white cardstock is Accent Opaque Digital International Paper cover smooth white cardstock, 120 lb. for card base & 80 lb. for everything else. Started by die-cutting the cabin from stampin’ cut & emboss cabin dies by SU on white cardstock then stamped the cabin from matching stamp set peaceful cabin with Altenew crisp dye ink rock gray collection industrial diamond; then die-cut the trees same cardstock, because the stamp doesn’t align with the die at least for someone with OCD like me, I stamped the first two trees using classic stampin’ pad mossy meadow ink then stamped the single tree with classic stampin’ spot evening evergreen ink, then die-cut 3 layers more of the trees of cardstock use to create dimension and then adhere all together and attach to cabin. Then I grab a piece of 65 lb. of blue Recollections cardstock die-cut it with double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness then embossed it with winter wonderland embossing folder set by Cuttlebug & Provo Craft then with my Altenew ergonomic brush I added Tim Holtz distress oxide chipped sapphire and dusty concord and then mounted to a die-cut layer with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A of Park Lane 110 lb. smooth black solid core cardstock and mounted to the A2 card base. When the two layers were attached, I added cabin & trees and then added some glue and some Elizabeth Craft Designs cool diamond fine glitter. I wanted to add Gina K Design glitz glitter gel less mess more even but guess if you don’t use the gel it freezes like a rock even if the bottle is totally sealed. Guess the bottles should not be sold that big or it should have a label that says it has to be used quick after opening or it goes bad LOL after that I die-cut my words. The hello is hello topper craft steel die by Birch Press Design. The stamped message is from Service & Sacrifice stamp set by SU with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink, punched with story label also by SU but cut off part of the top and bottom

These cards were for the Algona Police Department the heroes in my City.

Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a Feliz Navidad and a Happy Christmas!

One of my online friends send us this fun fold type card for our anniversary and then I took a workshop with the educators of Altenew and Annemarie made this fun fold card also so decided it was a sign to get it out of my to do list. SU demonstrators calls it cascading display fun fold card and another name I found was double display pop up gate fold. It folds flat for mailing and it’s A2 size but THIS card will require extra postage because of the poinsettias but if you do it differently you probably wouldn’t need extra postage but since it’s for Bret I wasn’t worry about dimension.

I made my card base with Park Lane white core smooth 110 lb. jewels cardstock, because I didn’t like the white showing I used a Copic marker to cover the white all around. For all layers that I needed white cardstock I used Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth white cardstock. On the front layer used a slimline stencil with Tim Holtz distress ink mowed lawn with Picket Fence Studios life changing blender brush, then for the poinsettias used layered poinsettia dies set by Spellbinders with color mates cardstock 65 lb. by World Win Papers these papers are old not sure if they still in business but each color has 4 tones which I love for things like this, I picked Racy raspberry deep, dark, medium & light; for the center used all that bling dimensional stickers mini gold gems by Jolee’s; for the green used scraps of Core’dinations green 65 lb.

For the second layer used poinsettia stencil by Impression Obsession Paper Crafts with Tim Holtz distress ink candied apple with Picket Fence Studios life changing blender brush

Finally for my last layer used some Tim Holtz distress ink rustic wilderness with Picket Fence Studios life changing blender brush and then used the stamp by DeNami corner poinsettias with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink but decided to add some color and that ink it’s not Copic friendly so stamped a couple times with Memento Tuxedo black ink on top to hopefully it would help with the bleeding and colored with Copic markers but didn’t blend as I didn’t want it to bleed. The message is by Morning Star with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect Holiday 2022

On each of the classes there is a make & take that is done by a different person than the one that did the class. Carissa Wiley made the make & take on this 4th class. And this was my take on her card

The this card was using the Berry branch product bundle. In most cards there was wet embossing something I hate and normally I was able to do something different instead of embossing but this time was embossing on vellum but it just was not working out so I just skipped the vellum all together. I decided not to add message on this one as I didn't want to glue a label and there are no Spanish/English dies that match.

For this card all white was Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth white cardstock except for the card base that is Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock, all supplies are Pinkfresh Studio unless otherwise noted

Cover the card base with a layer of white cardstock that was die cut with snowflakes cover plate die then die cut 3 layer of Art deco frame stand alone cuts. For the image grabbed another layer of white cardstock die cut it with berry branch coordinating cuts then stamped with coordinating stamp set with VersaFine Clair morning mist then used the coordinating layered stencils with Tim Holtz distress ink shabby shutters, mowed lawn, spun sugar & worn lipstick then restamped with VersaFine Clair morning mist. Finally added some metallic pearls: gold

Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect Holiday 2022

Back in October I took the virtual event with Pinkfresh Studio. This is my second event and was smaller than the first, only 4 classes which was a bit disappointing as supplies seemed to be less also and price seemed more but again everything is going up. Classes were good I enjoyed them there was 2 classes and a make a take on each so at the end 12 cards in the weekend. Last time, in May, were 18 cards for the weekend

The these cards were from Class 4 Berry branch product bundle with Laura Bassen. I don't have PFS ink so made my own combo closed to what Laura used. For the messages I made them bilingual so they were more useful for my needs. I don't have to worry to whom the card goes to when I get it out of my drawer, it could be sent it to anyone on my list

For this first card all white was Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock except for the card base that is Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock, all supplies are Pinkfresh Studio unless otherwise noted

Cover the card base with a layer of white cardstock that was stenciled with Kaleidoscope layered stencils 1 & 2 with Tim Holtz distress ink kitsch flamingo and picked raspberry then glued 2 leftover Art deco frame stand alone cuts pieces glued together. For the image grabbed another layer of white cardstock die cut it with berry branch coordinating cuts then stamped with coordinating stamp set with VersaFine Clair morning mist then used the coordinating layered stencils with Tim Holtz distress ink kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry, twisted citron, lucky clover then restamped the image with VersaFine Clair morning mist. Die cut 3 more pieces and mounted all together for dimension and then attached to card. Finally added PPP metallic gold jewels. For the English message used floral bauble stamp set from the first class and the Spanish message from Bellos eventos stamp set by SU both with VersaFine Clair morning mist

For the second card, all white cardstock is Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth except for the card base that is A2 Recollections 110 lb.

Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect Holiday 2022

On each of the classes there is a make & take that is done by a different person than the one that did the class. Lea Lawson made the make & take on the first class. And this was my take on her card

The this card was using the floral bauble product bundle. I changed the colors and some of the layout as I forgot how the card was after I watched the class. I decided not to add message as the stamp set and the extra stamp set ONLY has messages in English which limits to whom I can send cards to.  I tent to either leave no message or put both Merry Christmas & Feliz Navidad unless I decided to the other two languages I need French or Dutch

For this card all white was Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth white cardstock except for the card base that is Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock, all supplies are Pinkfresh Studio unless otherwise noted

Used A2 card base colored with Tim Holtz distress oxide salvage patina & peacock feathers with Picket Fence Studios life changing blender brush with Kaleidoscope layered stencils, only stencil 1 & 2. On a layer of white cardstock used the floral bauble coordinating die cuts then use the layered stencils with Tim Holtz distress oxide inks bundled sage, evergreen bough, mustard seed, salvage patina peacock feathers & uncharted mariner. Cut some snowflakes with Core’dinations heavy weight 250gm golden pearl elegant pearlized paper from large snowflakes coordinating cuts, the big one was cut in half then added 3 layers of Art deco frame stand alone cuts die cut with white cardstock and placed all snowflakes within the frame before pressing down firmly. Finally added some metallic pearls gold

Paper Pumpkin Jolly Gingerbread

This is one of my alternatives for my November 2020 kit. Started by cutting the pieces. I decided the gingerbread house was good size for a mini slimline card. My size for mini slimline is 3x6 since I used checkbook envelopes as I have so many and I don’t send checks any more.

Cut card base of Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock, next layer calypso coral cardstock and then a top layer of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth white cardstock the border in between layers is 1/16” around which is what I prefer most of the time.

On the top layer used the ergonomic blending brush by Altenew with Tim Holtz distress oxide inks weathered wood, tumbled glass and faded jeans then cut the printed die-cut house in two mounted one on the top then on top added a white die-cut house as you could remove the door to show the decorated door on the gingerbread and then decorated on top with some candy stickers.

the inside I glued the other half as decoration but it's big enough for a message as well as personal message

I cut the printed envelope to use as layer and then used Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A then mounted this layer to an A2 card base of Recollections 110 lb. white base. Then cut the flap of the envelope to use as decoration on the front which I layered on a piece of white then added printed silver foil die-cut where I stamped with the kit’s stamp set and classic stampin spot shaded spruce ink stamped message and trees

Gingerbread Christmas

For this card I used for all the white card Accent Opaque Digital International Paper cover smooth white cardstock 100 lb., for the green used Core’dinations Foundations 65 lb. canvas textured guava cardstock.
