Sunday Tip or Tecnique

I made this card of one of my Sunday's TT. The challenge was to use the thumping technique the tutorial was from Gina K Designs. I had done this technique in the past it was NOT like the tutorial but I did it my way after all it was the same technique :0)

The oak tree is a stamp by Rubber Stampede I used vintage photo and espresso truffle for the trunk colored in with Copic markers, for the bush used forest moss and 7 green memento dual markers and dandelion, for the ground again used Copic markers. Die cut my ovals with Lifestyle Crafts dies, the message is part of the brushed stamp set by Avery Elle stamped with vintage photo

We moved

Also, part of the wedding gift were some we moved cards as they'll be moving to their new home soon. We were going to give them the cards as part of their housewarming gift but I thought that when they do their change of address they could send the cards to the people that normally sends them regular mail or cards :0)

The "We moved" was done with the computer, I needed a starting point for the alphabet set. Upper & lower cases Sophisticated alphabets by Concord and 9th stamped with tuxedo black. I also printed the map from Google maps showing the cities where they are moving from/to and then die cut them with wheely great stamp & die combo set from Taylored Expressions. The washi tape I got at Impress.

I wanted something flat and simple as originally I thought of making them postcards but then decided that probably the die cut car with the awful mishandle of mail by post office for sure wouldn't make it to destination so made full A2 cards

Wedding thanks

Part of the wedding gift for Josh & Constance were some thank you cards for the unwanted wedding gifts :0) figured like us most people want to give gifts even if the couple don't want anything so they will have to send a thank you card and a handmade card is always nicer than a store bought :0)

This is one of the designs. The background is thanks embossing folder by Cuttlebug, the image is part of feathered friends stamp set by Heartfelt Creations stamped with tuxedo black, used stitched square STAX dies by My Favorite Things

Wedding

My oldest stepson got married today and this is the card I made for them. Josh loves outdoor activities and so does Constance so decide to go outside MY box with their wedding card :0) normally wedding cards that I make are couples, rings, bells or flowers not that they're not nice but since Josh likes outdoor I wanted something different plus their wedding was not a traditional wedding to me :0) so this is what I came up

The message is by Penny Black stamped with tuxedo black, the sunset/sunrise is by Coronado Island Stamping Company also stamped with tuxedo black and the shell by Heartfelt Creations also stamped with tuxedo black. The background was done with distress inks and sponges. For the sky used tumbled glass; for the sun squeezed lemonade, scattered straw and tea dye; for water tumbled glass, broken China, faded jeans and blueprint sketch; for the bottom of the ocean or sand old paper and brushed corduroy

Shoebox Thursday by Candee

For today's shoebox Candee had a fun fold card using Elizabeth Crafts Designs dies. The front message is part of the layering love set by SU, since she had the piece cut and stamped I'm just guessing she use the new dapper denim in on it, the background paper is also SU. The card base was cut with rectangle pull card and the crab is Rocky the crab.

It's hot outside

I had to make a card with summer theme for a mingle (aka swap) I wasn't sure what I wanted to do my first thought was not to participate :0) but decided I have to have something in my craft room that could work so I check my background / scrapbook papers and found some water and sand so made my beach, then of course needed something else so check what I could use and ended up picking some brads I got at Impress that I'm pretty sure are by Outlet Eyelets & Brads, since I put them towards the water needed a little on the corner so used the star seashell from flipflops2stamp by Stamps of Life...I know this kind of seashells totally need water but I can just assume they're dead LOL I wanted to put my brads closer to the "water" pretending the ball was coming and going with the waves, the flip flops got caught with the waves but only one came back :0) and of course the bucket for sand castles has to be sort of close to water to be able to work on the castle or to grab water to pour on the ones laying under the sun :0) the happy stamp is custom made part of a set I got done and the summer days is by Lockhart Stamp Co.

Diamond thanks & treat box

I made some thank you treat gifts for my sister and since she liked them very much as well as her recipients she gave me a Snoopy t-shirt as a thank you gift and this is the card I gave her for it.

I used some top note bigz die scraps I had in my drawer, the pearls were a set that matched some Spellbinders dies so used both the die to match the pearls and the message is Heartfelt Creations,

This is the treat box in the shape of a book as she works at the library. Ribbon from my stash. Mostly everything was scraps of paper or papers I had cut for another project and didn't end up using.

the Seattle scene is by Make An Impressions

The thank you is by Savvy Stamps,

the "pages" were done with gorgeous grunge by SU

inside was her personal note and chocolates

Sunday Tip or Technique

Another of my Sunday TT was using VersaMark and powder pearls. I had already tossed my powdered pearls in the get rid-off box so had to dig them out to be able to do this. I haven't done this technique in way too many years :0) I use a set by CTMH to keep the card simple I used an Elizabeth Crafts die. I used some sort of shimmer paper for my card base and die cut

Since I love the shimmer paper didn't want to waste the negative part so I made another simple card. Used black piece of paper on a Cuttlebug folder and adhere all the negative pieces :0)

Sunday Tip or Technique

Haven't been doing too good on my Sunday TT. This one the share was one from Gina K Designs and this was my take on the technique. I used different ink to stamp my background stamp, another of my unknown stamps. The words is a stamp by The Stamp Doctor. The dragon is a Spellbinders die, the embossing folder is Cuttlebug

Shoebox Thursday

This week is my week to host our meeting and provide the shoebox project.  I picked a set I have not used before as I really didn't know what to do with it. I used to belong to The Stamps of Life club and you never know what you get each month, some sets were stamps I would totally never buy so having a hard time coming up with ideas but my plan is to make at least one card with all sets :0) Anyway, checking their gallery for the snail2mail set found a card that called my attention mainly because I was getting all my scraps out of my drawers to give away and the card used pieces of paper so didn't really have to do much cutting :0) picked colors and hope they were the perfect size, did have to cut a bit length wise but otherwise they fit perfectly

For both the yellow and green piece I used a different stamp from the ink blot set by CTMH. On the yellow piece I used dandelion ink and on the green piece, I used new sprout ink. The thank you is a stamp by De Nami Designs stamped with tuxedo black. For the snail, I used the kissing technique. I used my MISTI to make the double stamping easy. For the body, I first stamped with desert sand then reinked the stamp with toffee crunch and kissed it with Stampscapes tonal applicator stamp and stamped; for the shell, I first stamped with new sprout then reinked with cantaloupe and kissed it with a dots stamp by Impress and stamped. The snail was cut with my Brother Scan N Cut. I added liquid pearls on the tip of the antenna and enamel accent black on the eyes

Seahorse

I wanted to use these dies I got recently so making a card for Grandma that has been under the weather was the perfect excuse. I also made an extra card for a mingle.

For the sea I used Memento ink toffee crunch (bottom) summer sky, Bahama blue, Danube blue and nautical blue. I stamped gorgeous grunge with distress ink old paper only on the brown part. The seaweed is a die by Elizabeth Crafts Design, the seahorse is also a Elizabeth Crafts Design die, it's a two piece die, the bottom piece I sponged with Memento ink desert sand, toffee crunch & rich cocoa then mounted the top die and mounted it with foam. The bubbles are done with birthday blooms by SU and distress ink picket fence. The little seahorse is part of the coloring layering seahorse stamp set by Hero Arts.

This card was for Grandma and the message stamped with tuxedo black is friendship messages by Simon Says Stamp

This card was for my mingle the bubbles were done with brilliance moonlight white as my blue was darker, message is from the same set as the little seahorse.

Friends

And this is the last design that I have not shown that were on the box for my friend.

This was a totally different card for me. I don't usually use big 3D embellishments. At one of the Heirloom Expos I got these embellishments. I though they were cool and elegant and thought of making something for my mom but somehow I just never got around plus wasn't sure how could I mail to Mexico that would make it down there safely :0) anyway, I had some papers on my desk and my box of pearls so got inspired and made the card. I used a folder by Cuttlebug, I used my Copic airbrush system to color the embellishments to match my card and checking my messages grab this stamp by Hero Arts that thought would finish up my card.

Lighthouse thanks

This other card was clean and simple I guess a lot of my cards are clean and simple :0) I love lighthouses have at least 2 drawers with all kinds of lighthouses mostly the ones in WA State. This stamp is by Great Impressions back when Craft Outlet was on business they used to sell what they called the board of the month. It was a board that has several samples and it included like 6 stamps the main stamp was 50% off the lighthouse and seashells is one stamp and was the main stamp. I decided to separate both images, the seagull is a brad I got at Impress I believe is by Outlet Eyelet & Brads and the words is Avery Elle

Scene thanks

This is another of the cards I sent my friend. I would consider this also a Sunday Tip or Technique as I created a scene with ink and sponges :0) The idea was from Nancy Ferb. I used a set by Two Paper Divas, God's Creations, the grass. The message is Heartfelt Creations, the clouds were done with template and sponge, I also used sponges to add more color on the ground. The bird was done with the two-step punch by SU, added some color on the belly and a pearl

While making these cards I made some for my personal use using a different die, the hello is also Memory Box

Hello Sunshine Paper Pumpkin

This is the last card design included in the donation box, long with some recycled cards it contained about 158 cards. For these cards I used February 2016 hello sunshine paper pumpkin kit.

For this card I just added the message by My Creative Time and pearls from stash

For this one I used the thank you embossing folder by Cuttlebug, the message was from the kit

For this one I use Hello Thinlits die by SU

for this one I used rhinestones from stash and the words are part of a set by Winnie & Walter and used pokey thingy to add a border/frame

This were not part of the donation card but came from the negative part of the kit. This first card used the same thanks embossing folder by Cuttlebug

Shoebox Thursday

I hosted our meeting this week and for my shoebox project, I decided to use the idea by Jennifer McGuire of split card.

You stamp two front panels exactly the same (the MISTI works great for this) then you cut them in two and you split the halves to make two whole opposite panels. On my card, I used birthday blooms stamp set by SU stamped with ground espresso, hugs needed stamp set & thanks to you stamp set by Pink & Main also stamped with ground espresso. You end up with two cards the same but different :0)

Layers of Gratitude Paper Pumpkin

Last year the February paper pumpkin was one of those kits I didn't care for but at the time I wanted to make a special card for a lady that had been my SU demonstrator here so used that kit other than that I had not done anything until now :0)

I looked on my black and white pattern papers and then used the negative part of the kit to make my cards. These cards were to fit a business envelope...the ones you get with bills

and this is what I did with the positive part, these cards were to fix an A7 envelope I believe

I don't care much for felt but I had it and if I didn't make something with it would have stayed in my stash forever and ever this way at least they'll be use for a good cause :0)

Elegant black & white

I think I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest but couldn't find again when I want back to check so either I dreamt it or something LOL anyway I used a die by Heartfelt Creations/Spellbinders, pearls from stash.

The thank you is one of those unknown stamps I own :0)

while working on the thank you cards decided to make some extra cards for my personal use so picked a different message a stamp by VIP

Butterfly thanks

For this card I used the idea by Myrna Sweet. I checked my background papers and picked the ones that the pattern was more busy but enough different colors I guess. I cut my butterfly which is SU die, then stamped my message which is a stamp by Stampendous then I embossed my piece of cardstock with the bubble wrapping texture fade by Tim Holtz then glued all of that to my background piece that was already glued to my card base

Diagonal thank you

This thank you card was inspired by I'm in Haven. I used peaceful petals SU set. After I put my card together I added the strip of pearls...I did put a black cardstock layer but wanted the pearls can't remember if the idea had the pearls or not :0)

Flowery thank you

For this thank you card I used some bright paper. The image is by Make an Impressions added a pearl on each of the centers of the flowers. I added some stitched borders by Lawn Fawn...they only do the stitching they doesn't cut

Friday, August 5, 2016

Border thanks

More cards for the donation box. I made these from and idea by Susan Goetter. The top image is from everything Eleanor SU set, the word is Fawn Lawn, the dies are Spellbinders.

After I made several of these for the box I had the stuff out so made some more for my personal use using a different message :0)

Green thanks

Continuing with the thank you cards for the donation box. I made these with more scraps. For these I looked for 1/4 of sheet pieces and since I was looking in my green drawer all cards were green :0) again looked for ink that matched the paper and this is what I came up with.

The main image is from fresh vintage stamp set by SU, the message was also from SU from the set regarding dahlias, the front was cut with labels 8 by Spellbinders

Colorful thanks

Another clean and simple thank you card. This card was CASE from Scrappin and Stampin in GJ. Used scraps to work on these cards so I picked my scraps first and then looked for inks that would be as close to those colors as possible. I used two SU sets petal parade for the main image and what I love for my words. Rhinestones from stash
