Sunday Tip or Technique

On one of my Yahoo groups the Sunday TT was the impossible card fold. It was an easy card to do and not lots of papers. The original tutorial was done with background paper or DSP but then I saw another tutorial that was with cardstock and decorated so I like that better so that's how I did mine. I had some papers on my desk from working on something else so just used those to decorate my card.

This message is I'm so happy stamp by Paper Inspirations with hickory smoke ink

this stamp is script I love you stamp by Uptown Rubber Stamps also with hickory smoke ink, the butterflies are bitty butterfly and elegant butterfly punches by SU, rhinestones from stash

According to tutorials the band across was not necessary but it was to flimsy without it

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project, I did black ice technique but skipped one step because I don't like wet embossing šŸ˜Š so if that means is not totally the black ice technique oh well  LOL

I stamped the woodgrain background stamp by SU with crumb cake on vanilla cardstock then on my gold foil paper is where I did my "black ice" with StāzOn, not sure how other people were able to run the ink with their arm on the way I had a hard time, anyway for my trees I used wonderland set also by SU, for my message I used blooming with kindness and the seagulls are Stampendous. Because I don't like to use StāzOn with clear stamps I was looking for cling/rubber stamps so I can clean with StāzOn cleaner after I was done. The enamel dots were white and I colored them with Copic marker

For those of you that like wet embossing after you do the stamping BEFORE the enamel dots, run the VersaMark ink lightly with clear EP.

I let the ink dry between inking, StāzOn dries pretty quick BUT just for safety I like to let it dry minutes specially in between the black ink and the VersaMark

Closure card

After working on the cards for my shoebox yesterday, I decided to try the same thing but with a butterfly and since I do not own the classic label punch wanted to see if I could use the word window punch.

So I used Rachel's idea of using the big background on the inside and the small piece on the outside. The butterflies are from SU, rhinestones from stash. This one is the one I  used the word window punch it works BUT because the punch is the old fashion it doesn't go in as much as the other so my opening didn't get center and the butterfly was a bit out of the card which is ok and since no one know how it actually goes they wouldn't know I didn't mean to have it off center LOL the message is from say bday by The Greeting Farm with hybrid black ink

This one was done just like the dragonfly but with butterfly, using the classic label punch. The message is from the set layer flower believe by Hampton Arts also with hybrid black ink

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project I'm doing another card that is going around, for this one I believe the name is closure card. The first time I saw it was with Rachel Tessman she called it dragonfly closure card so I'm doing it her way but then I saw the way Frenchie  which I like, my other card is not exactly like hers as it was too much work or complicated to cut the opening with two dies, and I like uncomplicated things šŸ˜Š

For Rachel's idea was using a 6x6 piece of paper and you cut your inside then from the left over you cut your front. My inside is 4x5.25" my front is 2x4.25" I glued the front about 5/8" away from edge then punched with classic label by SU, my message on the front is from sale-a-bration epic celebrations set with gathered twigs ink, the message on the inside is from beautiful bouquet set by SU also with gathered twigs ink, the dragonfly is from detailed dragonfly thinlits also by SU, the rhinestones were colored with Copic marker

For this card, that was sort of going to Frenchie's idea I used the same sets but with tuxedo black ink. On the front I stamped it and punched it out with large oval by SU, the pearls on the dragonfly were colored with Copic marker just because I had the white pearls out and markers are always at arm reach, I do have black pearls but I would have had to get up an get them LOL for my opening I used ribbon banners die by Spellbinders, I masked my die cutting just what I needed for the dragonfly. For this one I used 4x6" paper. Cut my front 4x5.25" and from the scraps cut my piece for the inside. If I were to make this kind again I would move the dragonfly to the left side or where the paper is to have more room to write. I can still write but the dragonfly is sort of in the way

I gave my friends 6x6 papers to pick their own card, so even though I did a lot of things for them they had to pick their paper and cut then punch

Flat pop up Elephant

I join a mingle (aka swap) doing the Sunday tip or technique of flat pop up card and then on another Yahoo group the mingle was elephants so decided to kill two birds with one stone and make my two mingle cards the same so I would use the elephant them on the flat pop up card so this is what I did.

The background paper is from Let's bokeh in the snow by Lawn Fawn, the stamps are from Humphrey's set by Crafter's Companion the message was stamps with broken China and the elephant with hybrid black licorice and colored with Copic markers

Because I like to have room for a message plus a personal message I decided to add a folder card on the back so the inside has a stamped message and plenty of room for a personal message and then also room for my personal stamp.

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I have a card that has seems to be going around but I don't think anyone has given it a name yet and since it seems like most of the time is a SU demonstrator that ends up giving names for techniques or folds regardless of which company or person started them, guess we have to wait until one of them gives a catchy name šŸ˜Š

Not much stamping other than the message for which I used wild blossoms set by Gina K with London fog ink, scallop oval punch and extra large oval punch both by SU, pearl by Recollections, the butterfly are from two different dies by SU also, one is out of vellum and the other just cardstock

Shaving cream

One of the Sunday tip or technique in one of my Yahoo groups was shaving cream. I have tried not doing it because it's messy but gave in and this time I did it tried it. I cover all my desk just to make sure nothing will drip then I put gloves on grabbed paper plates and Bret's shaving cream and started playing with the only reinkers I have which are distress ink. It was messy but fun unfortunately for someone that suffer headaches and migraines was a bad thing to do or maybe it was the smelly shaving cream Bret has but after I was done my migraine was pretty bad and took a couple days to get rid off so will be a technique I won't be doing again even though I did like the results. All cards were different and even after dried and airing them for a while the smell didn't go away šŸ˜” so hope the recipients didn't have a problem with the smell!

For all cards I used the same reinkers, oxided candied apple, regular distress pine needles and rusty hinge. For the thank you cards I used so very much SAB SU's set with black soot ink and

for these cards I used wishing you by Mama Elephant also with black soot ink

Happy Birthday

Today is one of my dearest friends' birthday and was having a hard time making her a card I know hard to think that when she likes so many things it would be hard to make her a card. At the end this is what I made her

I used one of PPP sets, love this set it's so fun to play with. I used rhinestones from my stash to fill the balloons. She likes turquoise and purple so that's what I was trying to use. The twine was from my stash I believe both were bought at Impress but not 100% sure. The stitched square dies are from Stamps of Life. For my message on the left side were stamped with memorable moments set by SU with wilted violet ink and the message on the right is day to remember by Endless Creations also with wilted violet ink.

This card closed is 5.5x4.5 as I needed it to match my front panel

Stampin' Up Workshop

Today I attended a spring cards SU workshop with two of the local demonstrators. We got to make 4 cards.

The first card we stamped hardwood background stamp with soft suede then we used country livin' set, originally was stamped on basic gray on watercolor paper BUT I don't like that paper so I stamped it on white paper with tuxedo black and colored it at home with my Copic markers, the message is from guy greetings set with garden green, burlap ribbon for embellishments

For this card, we embossed petal burst on the bottom, the top has a piece of delightful daisy DSP where we glued the words only of the oval from lovely words thinlits die, double stitched daffodil delight ribbon, daisy punch, 1/2" circle punch, clear faceted gem

For this card, we used the same DSP as above but the other side, the set you're inspiring with tuxedo black, colored with blends alcohol markers, the pearls were also color with the blends, the message was cut with bunch of banners framelits

and last but not least, we used coffee break DSP, let the good times roll stamp set with early espresso, matching dies thrill ride pop-up thinlits and stitched shapes framelits

Shoebox Tuesday by Darlene

For today's shoebox project we got to work on the perennial birthday project kit. Darlene set up the kit and the catalog of us to make the card either as the catalog sample or whatever we wanted. Because I normally don't check the kit samples I did my own thing so this is the card I made. The kit goes well with a stamp set BUT for this card the stamp that would fit in the banner didn't work with the card so I picked a stamp from balloon celebration set. For what I understood the color of the kit was dapper denim but since we didn't have that color we used night of navy and it work just fine. All supplies were SU and from the kit except for the message stamp

Little note yellow flower

For these little note cards I used the same set flowers by Hampton Arts with fossilized amber ink

50th birthday

One of our friends is turning 50 today so wanted to do a special card for her. I didn't know her favorite color so used mine šŸ˜Š and also used butterflies. Saw a card by Lorraine A and loved it so this is my spin to her idea.

Using my stamping tool I stamped twice the same butterfly images from different set, butterfly kisses by Joy Clair, butterfly kisses by BoBunny, texture butterflies by KaiserCrafts, then did the splatter on the bottom layer I used ink blot set by CTMH, on the top layer I used SU's timeless textures set then I die cut scallop oval die from PPP, also on the top layer I die cut with the stitched rectangle die by The Stamps of Life, for my message I used 3 different sets with my tuxedo black dual marker I stamped the top part from say bday set by The Greeting Farm, the middle part is from anniversary set by TCP Studio and birthday is from magical birthday set by Simon Says Stamp.

The sequins were a gift and since I removed the package don't know the company, I glue some so when you stand the card not all sequins fall down
