Happy Halloween

This year sure will be a different kind of Halloween for most, for other guess it probably won't matter. We normally don't give out candy out and we don't have little kids to worry about which we are thankful can't imagine the parents that are trying to do the right thing by staying home but still doing something special for their kids that like to dress up and go around the neighborhood anyway with my shoulder still bad I made a simple card for Bret

I just blended with my Altenew ergonomic brush and distress oxide inks my background, fossilized amber, candied apple, spiced marmalade, seedless preserves and dusty concord on black cardstock then sprinkled with a small paint brush some watered Brilliance pigment ink moonlight white it gave it a little shimmer and some Nuvo mica mist midnight horizon also has a little shimmer but neither gave the color I was looking for but at the end that was what I had so it stayed that way, dab with paper towel when all dry added the crows and scarecrow die pieces. The crows I double them and the scarecrow I die cut it 4 times.

No message as wasn't sure how it was going to look in black and I didn't want to ruin the panel and I just didn't want to remake 😕

Boo

This is an alternative to my September 2018 paper pumpkin frights & delights kit. I used the set with VersaFine Clair nocturne, the tag is from kit and the spider background is one of the treat bags that I used to make my shaker part since I don't do treat bags or 3D projects. I used a stitched frame for my frame as it worked perfect instead of using two dies, also added some sequins from a previous paper pumpkin as well as some confetti for my shaker bits

Haunted house

I had to make a card with a house for a mingle aka swap since I hurt my shoulder wanted something easy but of course there is nothing easy when it comes to card making. I decided to use my happy haunting folder by Cuttlebug then I made a mask and started blending some distress oxide inks with life changing brushes for the grass I used mowed lawn for the sky candied apple, spiced marmalade and seedless preserves for the moon and windows I used fossilized amber but then wasn't happy with the moon so added some colored pencils white and yellow and then of course I had to add some ghost so used my ghost circle wreath die stacked about 3 and added Spectrum Noir sparkle crystal clear glitter brush

Monoprinting

While I was playing with my class homework I also made this background and cards. For these I did use the gel plate used distress wilted violet spritz with water and used the reduction technique with baby wipe and B&J's Art Stamp pigment pad maple cream on Neenah 80lb paper. Second background I added more water not to waste the ink that was left over.

For the cards I used stitched rectangle die by The Stamps of Life to cut my layer, Asian essence set by Local King with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink, messages are from best sentiments set by Altenew same ink and embellished with faux black enamel accents

Monoprinting Class Homework Day 3

I took a class with Altenew Academy with Sara Naumann, Monoprinting made easy. I was trying to do something new. I took this class July 2019 couldn't play with the technique until I got my gel plate and after that I just did backgrounds like a lot of people and never did anything with them but needed to work on a card for a mingle aka swap and the rest went into my donation box for Gray Matters Foundation.

Day 3 was using pigment ink. For my backgrounds I used my monoprint plate by Grafix Impress which is more like a plastic not gel for ink I used Brilliance Archival Pigment ink mineral then I put some distress seedless preserves on my glass mat added water and splatter it with a brush onto the plate I used Neenah paper. I just keep adding more water on the plate light splitz at the end I used a brayer.

For all cards I sprayed a background of oxide spray picked raspberry, stamped the hope collage stamp by MB with VersaFine Clair fallen leaves ink and very carefull color the flowers with Copic Markers as this ink is not Copic friendly then die cut with SU's rectangular stitched framelits and then cut a pink layer with 1/8" border

Gatefold stable door card

This card was inspired by Flutter by Heidi's blog. I was going to make it as a shoebox but somehow it got buried and now it will take time before we do shoe boxes again so might as well post card.

I used close to the heart set by Birch Press with crisp dye ink deep iris, field flowers set by SU with crisp dye inks lavender fields and just green; painted petals set also by SU with same inks; rounded the top corners with mini corner rounder punch by EK and to close the "stable door" I used classic label punch.

I changed my card, the inside panel Heidi only made it 2/3 I wanted it to be a full panel, the closure I didn't like the hole this one latches in the other side in between the foam so both sides are with foam but on one side it latches and on the other side the foam holds the label and also I made it a full card to have an area to write a message

Happy unbirthday

One of my sister's is one of those ungrateful people that doesn't want to accept that it is a privilege to have a birthday, some people don't have it but for those that have it, they should be grateful, accept it and celebrate it little or big doesn't matter. Anyway, when I saw the set Hero greetings cheeky birthday by HA I just had to get it for her cards as a joke, it does have other regular birthday messages.

I made a card for her with the Stamp On It 2020 double embossed outline kit gold butterflies with moondust crystal clear. The kit included peel-off stickers, the moondust cyrstal clear, cardstock fronts and bases with envelopes to make 8 cards and a brush that if it was to help with the glitter it didn't. I colored the peel-off stickers after applying the glitter with Copic markers. I stamped the background butterfly to a layer of Neenah cardstock with butterfly kisses set by Joy Clair with amalgam ink whisper stamped twice, then added my frame layer than came with the kit mounted on the base added the butterflies with glue dots and the greeting with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and some enamel gold dots from stash, on the black layers used a scrap piece for the message

this message is from ornamental butterflies set by Poppy Stamps

and this message is from scripty saying set by Lawn Fawn

Faux tie-dye

This is last try on the Sunday tip or technique I had on one of my online groups for faux tie-dye using crayons. I finally found my Tim Holtz distress crayons. I only have one set which obviously haven't done anything with them since I couldn't even find them LOL wasn't sure how I was supposed to use them so I tried making watercolor but wasn't working for me I was either adding too much water or not enough or it was the regular awful watercolor paper. I just didn't like the result, tried fixing by adding some refill and it was just a big blot anyway at the end I did make two cards. The first one has dusty concord, ripe persimmon, barn door crayons with refill sage shadow, message is by SU paz y amor set with VersaFine Clair nocturne and Honey Bee Stamps' circle thin frames, embellished with faux enamel accents black

second card dusty concord, ripe persimmon, barn door crayons and refill Bermuda bay, everything else same as the same card

because I still had some ink left on my glass mat I was able to make another card

Faux tie-dye

In one of my groups we had the Sunday tip or technique for faux tie-dye using crayons. I didn't have regular crayons so I played with the watercolors I had so for this first try I made my background with Altenew watercolor brush marker tropical fiesta set: fresh lemon, lime, crimson with regular awful watercolor paper

after completely dry I ran it through the Vagabond to see if it would flatten but it didn't do much so just put my magnetic platform and that did the trick.
