Happy 26th

Today Bret and I celebrate 26 years of marriage a long time nowadays 😀 I just didn't have an idea of what to make so I just went for a simple easel card. He loves whatever I make him from simple to complicated, from cute even flowers to mixed media to masculine so I know I wouldn't have a problem liking whatever I give him. When Hero Arts release this set I knew I had to get it as one of our hobbies is hike to waterfalls so what a better set than a layer set of waterfalls. It's one of the HeroScape sets, I used Altenew inks for the stamping and distress oxide for the background with Altenew ergonomic blending brush.

I cut a piece of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 100 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock stamped the layers of the waterfall with crisp dye inks tropical forest collection moss, green fields collection evergreen, northern shore collection icy water, shore collection artic mountain then I masked it and blended my sky with distress oxide ink tumbled glass and salvaged patina. Then I die cut my piece with stitched square die by The Stamps of Life and matted it with Recollections 65 lb. navy cardstock. finally I stamped the Happy 26th anniversary with Memorable moments stamp set by SU and VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and added it to my base of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 100 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock for my stopper I used several pieces of navy cardstock and a scrap of the white cardstock where I stamp my message from the set Ways to say Happy Anniversary by Picket Fence Studios with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

Heroes in my City

It was time again to give cards to the Heroes in my city and this time since we are still in summer I made them a summer theme card. The hand-delivered the cards to the Chief again and it was nice to hear how everyone really appreciates the cards.

I started by stamping on Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 100 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock the School of fish bold print background stamp by Hero Arts with Gina K Designs amalgam whisper ink twice as once wasn't dark enough then I cut my layer with Double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness and stamped my images from Color layering octopus stamp set by Hero Arts with Altenew crisp dye inks: Octopus: sea shore collection volcano lake, lapis lazuli collection ultramarine; Bubbles: lapis lazuli collection iceberg; Seaweed: tropical forest collection bamboo, tropical forest collection parrot and the other green meadows collection minty mint.
The message is from My Hero stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. I matted it with a die cut layer with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A of Recollections 65 lb. navy cardstock and mounted it to a base of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 100 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock

Happy 84th

Today is my dad's birthday and since he likes blue I made him a card using one of the new to me layered cupcake sets in blue shades. I had fun making a bunch of this with all combos and this was the winner for his card. I used for the wrapper Altenew crisp ink northern shore collection polar bear, icy water, winter lake and artic mountain; for the cupcake Altenew crisp ink delectable delights collection hazelnut and fall harvest collection yellow ochre; for the frosting Altenew crisp dye ink deep blue seas collection sea breeze, turquoise, tide blue and starlight: for the candle Altenew crisp ink green valley collection firefly, shadow creek, pocketful of sunshine collection citrus burst and honey drizzle. The paper doily is an old one by SU; the feliz cumpleaños is from Luisa Elena Guillen-K set Feliz by Sizzix with VersaFina Clair nocturne ink I masked the message as well as the cupcake and then sprayed with distress oxide spray faded jeans
