Shoebox Thursday

Happy New Year's Eve! Today is the 6th day of  Christmas, last day of 2015 and our last meeting on Thursdays.  Not the greatest of photos...on the little screen it looked good anyway we wish you all the best for the New Year

It was Darlene's turn and this is what we made

The cardbase was a pre-cut card that she got at Endless Creations and all stamps used were also Endless Creations. Punches SU, embossing folder Cuttlebug

Because I don't like to emboss my cardbase I did that at home and turned out I didn't have the same color paper so used something close and cut it with the matching die by Sizzix

Chapstick cover

On the fifth day of Christmas I show you another of my handmade gifts.

Since most of my friends like to stick the index that comes with the SU cling stamps which makes them NOT stick to clear blocks which is annoying when you're going to stamp and the stamp falls on your project...yes paper has two sides but I personally don't like to stamp on back and since it's just paper I do toss mine away and grab another piece although not easy when you are somewhere not home stamping :0) anyway a few years ago Darlene had read somewhere that the original chapstick helps keep the stamp in place and we tried it and worked like a charm and when you're done you just have to clean the block so it doesn't get too much buildup. The stamps I bought used with the sticker already on and was not able to remove without leaving any adhesive residue I don't clean them as the same power it has to stick on block is the same that it give to stick on the storage box as it's plastic.

Again all words were done with computer. Used EK Success corner rounder

It has two notches on each side to keep the chapstick in place.

I put some foam squares to keep them up. I tried it and the chapstick came out just fine with the notches up

Shoebox Tuesday

On the fourth day of Christmas I show you the shoebox project I made for today, our last meeting for this 2015 :0) Decided to go for another winter card as winter has just started. Sunday while shopping there were some snowflakes so it was just the perfect card :0)

The branches is a stamp by Memory box. Used Memento ink to add color with sponges and stamped with VersaMark and added ultra fine white embossing powder. The message was stamped the same way and is from an Avery Elle set. I also stamped with plain VersaMark gorgeous grunge on the blue as background.

The card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by I'm in haven

Covered note pad

On the third day of Christmas I show you one of the gifts I made for my friends. This one is a covered notepad. All wording was done with computer except for the pen that I wrote the tag. Used miscellaneous punches. Every side in and out were cover with two different papers.

The notepad has a chipboard back so it was easy to slide and can be replace when gone. The polka dot  on the right below is a pocket in case they want to use it as shopping list they can put receipt there or any other paper they don't want lost until they get home :0) It is magnetized so it closes.

Unfortunately I couldn't find clear pens that was the same size or smaller than the pad. I added the tag that says "This pen belongs to..." and used micro beads to filled the barrel. So hopefully they will always have their pen...at least until it runs out of ink

Feliz Nochebuena

Happy Christmas Eve. Today is the last Posada, when Joseph and Mary finally arrived to the manger

This year again didn't make all my Christmas card but I'm ok with that. This is one of the cards I made. I used the packing tape technique...you make your window (used SU punches) cover from back with packing tape and add glitter. The stamp is by PSX, pearl by Recollections, the ribbon by K&I Memories, the folder is Cuttlebug, EK Success punches

Shoebox Thursday

Since Christmas Eve is Thursday we switched our play day to today for those that celebrate on Christmas Eve or need to get ready for Christmas.

It was my turn so this is the project I made. Used a stamp set and matching dies from The Stamps of Life, for the snow I use a Die-namics die, the nose is a rhinestone by Queen & Co., the buttons are brads by Recollections, the wiggly eyes are from my stash and had different sizes for them to pick what they wanted. Used Copic Multi Liner to draw the shadow on the snowmen...the die is one whole piece and even though there was a matching stamp it kept running on the glitter paper

colorful birthday

When I bought the stamp set for all things by SU I was planning on using it right away but as always just got put away and didn't get use until now :0) I stamped the same leaf all around making a frame for my message that hadn't decided what I wanted by the time I finished all the cards then decided I needed birthday cards for men. I cut off some burlap from the Sep. 2014 paper pumpkin bags added some autumn wooden elements by wrapping some threads from the same bag. The message is by Impress

Card Buffet

This is the last card I was missing from LeeAnn Greff took a while but didn't have the stamp set :0) anyway I changed my card from original photo by coloring the grassy area with Copic Markers adding the message on top instead of the bottom and even though I used the same set (guy greetings) I use the Spanish version and since I didn't get the washi label punched out I used my deckle scissors by Fiskars which worked out as my message would not have fit the label

the message peeking from the inside is Endless Creations

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox I wanted to do another Christmas card but figure if they don't have their Christmas cards done by now they probably won't :0) so figure they could use a New Year's card idea so this is what I did. I got the idea from Stampin' in the sand. The folder is Cuttlebug, the trees are SU, the message is unknown and use a Fiskars fancy scissors for the tag/label

Nutty hi

When the acorny thank you stamp set by SU came out I wasn't completely sure if I should put it on my wish list or not as I kind of saw it as a fall set and I don't want stamps just for one season but then I saw the cards Sharon Armstrong was doing for her October online class and they were cute so decided to get it and hold and behold I had fun with it.

I got the set and punch before the class supplies so had a chance to play with the set before working on the class. This is one of the cards I did. I found some acorn paper in my stash that like for this project, stamped words and the bottom part of the acorn with rich cocoa and for the top I used handmade glitter paper colored with Copic Marker and airbrush system then punched with matching punch. For the bottom of the card I used the September 2015 paper pumpkin stamp set and desert sand stamped off I wanted a light image. Found some twine in my stash that I liked how it went with what I had so far and violà my card was done

A cup of tea?

This was a simple card using a SU stamp sets and punch, paper doily and ribbon from stash. I empty the teabag first so it wouldn't be bulky and second just to make sure it doesn't spoil or attract bugs :0)

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox I had another Christmas project. I got the idea from Kay Kalthoff. I used two SU sets. I wanted a really bright sharp brown color for the pine cones but didn't have any so stamped them with rich cocoa then cut them with Brother Scan & Cut and then used a sponge to add some Brilliance ink so it gave it a bit of shimmer plus color

Ornare or Pricking

This was another of the techniques I love to do before the set back in my eyes. It was something easy to do when I wasn't at home.

Happy Hanukkah

Happy Hanukkah!

I have an online friend that is either Jewish or celebrates their holidays so I made this card for her. I used a napkin that I got at JoAnn Fabrics but since it needed a little something I added stickes on some of the stars and liquid pearls on others

Wondrous wreath class in the mail

These are the rest of Frenchie's class in the mail that I started showing you last month. The kit included one fall card, one tag and 4 Christmas. I didn't make the tag, no need when we don't give gifts :0) Since my friends were working on this kit at one of my play days and I had the stamp and die set I worked along them just using my own papers.

This one was too clean and simple so when remaking it would have a layer of green or red paper to still keep the clean & simple but just a little more, plus I would match the colors more...I used scraps so the ink and green paper was not totally the same :0)

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox Kathy had this lovely Christmas card.

The message is by SU, gemstones from The Paper Studio, the ornament is also SU added 3D crystal lacquer & glitter, the swirl is from a set but don't know who makes it :0( The other ladies added stickles but I decided just to add a few red pearls instead
