Shoebox Thursday by Kathy

For today's project Kathy had this lovely Valentine's card using SU products and she was nice enough to have everything already die cut and punched for us so all we had to do was put our card together 😊

We used sweetheart punch, 1-3/4" circle punch, sunburst thinlits die and expressions thinlits die

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I did a simple card no stamping involved. I had to do a washi tape card for one of my Yahoo groups and while looking at my washi tape drawers saw I had a lot of Valentine related rolls so got them all out and arranged them by tones reds to pink and then started putting them on my top layer on an angle picking and choosing the ones that would fill my cardstock and would do the ombre look. After I was done of course it needed something on top so went through my dies and found the heart die that had not used since I bought and that was my choice. I die cut it twice once in white and once in red and used the outline of the heart in red and the insides of the white. Kept the white heart and red pieces to see what I could do it them

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I decided to make a clean and simple winter card. I used snowflake & snowballs textured impressions embossing folder by Sizzix and then I die cut some snowflakes from an unknown set I was going to add them with dimensionals but decided to just add them straight on and the message is a stamp by Savvy Stamps with London fog ink

normally I don't do much on the inside but this time the big snowflake is part of another snowflake which I didn't want to waste so decided to add on the inside there was still plenty of room for message and the snowflake didn't go to waste or had to come up with another idea to use it 😊

Stampin Up Stamp A Stack

Today a friend and I went to one of the local SU demonstrators for a workshop. Lisa had 8 cards for us to do using a little of all the catalogs.

The first card was using the hello cupcake set with tuxedo black, crumb cake, daffodil delight and melon mambo inks. We added Wink of Stella on the top of the cupcake and I added glitter melon mambo enamel dots

For this card, we used amazing life set with tuxedo black ink, one of the sale-a-bration sets botanical butterfly DSP and butterfly duet punch to punch on of the papers which matches perfectly but unless you cut around the butterfly first you waste some of the butterflies as the punch has a little butterfly on top of the matching butterfly. Just a thought

For this card, we use butterfly gala set with matches with the butterfly duet punch and we colored the butterflies with stampin write markers lemon lime twist, daffodil delight and highland heather, the papers are from the gingham gala DSP pack as well as the sequins

For this card, we used humming along set with basic gray for the message, tuxedo black for flower and colored with stampin blends old olive, daffodil delight and pink pirouette and added some highlights with blending pen and petal pink ink. The flower was fuzzy cut and mounted with foam. Yes there is a die that matches the flower

For this card, I changed it from the original card. It was supposed to be a vertical opening but I don't like the cards that are embossed directly so I mounted my front which was embossed with scattered sequins dynamic textured impressions embossing folder to a flirty flamingo base which was the regular opening which I like better 😉 the heart is from the heart epoxy droplets colored with flirty flaming stampin blend, the ribbons are both whisper white one is organza and the other polka dot tulle

the inside was also done matching the front message which were from well said set both stamped with tuxedo black and also the DSP which was from the all my love pack

For this card, we used dot to dot textured impressions embossing folder, so hoppy together sale-a-bration set with tuxedo black and stampin blends granny apple green, real red, daffodil delight, smoky slate and I miss one color 😔 both the frog and message are mounted on foam

For this card, we used happiness blooms DSP, bloom by bloom set with call me clover, pineapple punch and night of navy inks, for the message we used itty bitty birthdays set with night of navy, I used my triple banner punch to do the banner as I wasn't happy with the other one, and we also used a happiness blooms enamel dots and mounted it on foam

And last but not least, for this card we used love you to pieces set with real red ink and tuxedo black and the matching die puzzle pieces. We mounted the heart on foam the baker's twine is one that has white and red but don't think it's in the current catalog might be wrong, it was one of the options and I liked it better than the other that it was in the catalog for sure 😊

Shoebox Thursday

For today's project I made a card that was one of my Sunday Tip or Technique and the tutorial provided was a fun fold by Dawn Stamping Thoughts. I had made my card Christmas but ran out of Christmas time so I changed my idea to a winter card. I changed a bit the card for my friends by moving the message more to the right and higher and making it smaller so you could see the whole tree just forgot to take that photo will post tomorrow and edit post, anyway I used two SU sets season like Christmas which is the tree with cottage ivy, northern pine, rich cocoa and tumbled glass inks and star of night with tumbled glass and Danube blue inks the message is from thank you messages by HA with Danube blue ink. The snowman is a brad I got at Impress. The circles are EK Success punches 1-1/4" and 1-1/2"

edited this is the final card everyone made

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I have a card that was inspired by Linda Bauwin. I changed the dimensions as I like more even layers. She called it flapped gate fold card

I used butterfly kisses set by Gina K Designs, butterflly kisses set by BoBunny and ornamental butterflies set by Poppy Stamps the "shadow" was done with watermelon wonder stamped off but it was too much of a hassle it just clear stamps don't like stamped off stamping so I kept looking for a different ink

and finally went for this one tattered rose and for the top ink rhubarb stalk

For the message I stamped with rhubarb stalk with the set thank you messages by HA and punch it out with SU's punches oval and scallop oval

the inside butterfly was also stamped with rhubarb stalk and I think it was from the BoBunny set. I was trying to use all the butterflies but didn't LOL

Stampin Up Birthday Card Bash

Today was the first workshop of the year with two of the local SU demonstrators. We got to use some of the new sale-a-bration and occasions things. Each of them got to do two projects so we got to make 4 birthday cards.

These first two cards were design by Daralee. The first one was using butterfly gala and beauty abounds sets. We stamped everything with tuxedo black then we colored the butterflies with markers (daffodil delight, grapefruit grove & calypso coral) and punched them out with the matching punch, for the center of the butterflies we added rhinestones. The message is from picture perfect birthday set stamped with calypso coral and punched out with classic label mounted with foam. The papers are gingham gala DSP and nature's poem DSP

The second card was using petal burst textured impressions embossing folder for background, then the mess from under the sea framelits die, some silver thread. We were supposed to use some sequins but I don't like them so I omit them, for the message we used itty bitty birthday set with night of navy ink and punched it out with classic label again I mounted mine flat but the sample had it 3D. The hummingbird is from Humming along and we were supposed to make a background in watercolor paper then stamp the hummingbird with tuxedo black and die cut with matching die BUT I don't like watercolor so I stamped my image on regular white paper die cut it and when I got home I colored it with Copic Markers mounted it on foam

The next two cards were design by Luci. For this first card we embossed our background with tufted dynamic textured impressions embossing folder then we stamp our message from happy birthday gorgeous set with gorgeous grape and punched out with tailored tag adhered flat, the enamels dots are the gorgeous grape glitter dots and for our image we created the frame with rectangle stitched framelits and seasonal layers thinlits the set we used is climbing orchid and matching dies with gorgeous grape, so saffron and old olive inks

For this last card again we embossed our background with tufted dynamic textured impressions embossing folder, the top paper is needlepoint nook DSP, the ribbons are whisper white flax and flirty flamingo all my love combo pack, the tag was done with perennial birthday set with mossy meadow ink for message, balmy blue for the small flower, flirty flamingo and old olive and the blue flower we added a sequin on the center so it wouldn't be blue

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I have the project I should have done last week but I had to cancel our get together due to my annoying cough. The card was inspired by Mary Fish and it was a Christmas card since we were in the 12th days of Christmas, obviously we're done with Christmas and I didn't want to put away this project until July

It wouldn't have been hard since I have done this many times but sometimes I run out of boxes for my projects so decided to switch my message and it was just a good any day project. I looked around my desk since I had it a bit of a mess with half way project and these HA set had just the perfect message for the heart so this became the project

I used season like Christmas set by SU with smoky slate, basic gray inks for the tree and tumbled glass for the snow or ground added some rhinestones for bling, the message was also stamped in basic gray the set is thank you messages, the stitched heart die is by Gina Marie Designs at Kat Scrappiness

13th Birthday

This special 13th birthday card went into a donation box for the children's hospital. I used Snoopy skating Stampabilities stamp with hybrid black licorice ink and Copic Markers. Cut my window with The Stamps of Life stitched square dies, used glossy accents for the "ice" where Snoopy is skating. The 13th is from number of years set by SU with twisted citron ink, the rest of the messages are two of the Papertrey Ink classic birthday sets with the same ink as before.

Feliz Día de Reyes

Today is the 12th and last day of Christmas or Epiphany when the 3 kings arrived in Jerusalem. This is the card I sent to my family as we do celebrate this holiday. I used a new stamp by Spellbinders. It was defective but didn't want to hassle with sending it back as wasn't sure how it would be something like with SU it's more expensive to return something as you have to pay to get it replace. With this stamp I just had to add extra cushion on certain areas and it did fairly good. I liked that with "one" inking you get the different layers of dimension. I tried it with 6 different inks some did better than others but still had to ink 2-3 times to get a nice full image. Cut my layers with Stamps of Life stitched rectangle dies, wherever there was a "star" I added a tiny rhinestone and on the big star I added a bigger rhinestone

11th Day of Christmas

On the 11th Day of Christmas have another Christmas card. for this card I did the card similar to the kits Stamp On It! sells, I had all the supplies needed which were the vintage hues cardinal printed acetates, glitter paper and all I needed extra was to make my frame to fit the acetate which I did with with Gina K Designs square die and I also had some peel off border stickers. The message is by Impress with tuxedo black ink.

10th Day of Christmas

On the 10th Day of Christmas, I share the card I sent our nephew who turned 18 on Tuesday. I was going to make it a shaker card but while I was messing around with the balloons I totally spaced out and put the foam without the acetate and I would have to waste it so I just left it just as a regular raised card. The feliz is part of a Feliz Navidad die by Elizabeth Craft Design and the 18 is from and whimsy alphabet set by Spellbinders

Shoebox Thursday

On the 9th Day of Christmas I made a Christmas project yes were celebrating the 12 days of Christmas so might as well continue making Christmas cards. I made this for my personal use in Spanish but had some paper left over paper that I decided to use for my shoebox project for an English version. This card fold was a Sunday Tip or Technique in one of my Yahoo Groups as always I did some changes to the original tutorial which was by Jackie Bolhuis.

I used EK punches for the circles, banner triple punch by SU, the message was done with two stamps the Feliz is part of happy to be friends by CTMH with amalgam ink and Navidad is from 12 días de Navidad set by SU with intense black ink the berries and hollies are also from the last set and were done with rhubarb stalk and cottage ivy dual markers

for the English version which was pretty much the same card just change the Feliz Navidad to English message which I picked one from Sparkle N Sprinkle Nesties Xmas trees set with VersaFina Clair nocturne ink

8th Day of Christmas

On the 8th Day of Christmas have another Christmas card that was inspired on the workshop I took last November. I just did a little more to my card. The one for the workshop we just added message and ribbon. I added snow on my background, anchor my tree and put the star, I had added some shimmer but gave up on that on most of my cards as it was taken too much time and room and somehow I couldn't really tell if I saw it or not LOL

I used Santa's sleigh thinlits die, folk star punch by EK, timeless textures set for the snow with tumbled glass ink stamped off mostly, anchor the tree with Copic marker, the message is from special season set by SU with mossy meadow ink

Happy New Year 2019!!

Happy 7th Day of Christmas and first day of 2019!! Hope you are having a great start of this new year.

Are you one of those people that make new year's resolutions?? I normally don't I think is one of those things we always say we'll do this or that but never do and just make up excuses of why we didn't or couldn't do them but a few years ago I made one which was using my new stamps and dies that I had bought years ago but never used and use before I bought anything else and I actually did!! that didn't mean I didn't buy anything new as you know every company is always coming out with new products but wasn't just buying because I like stuff I was putting more in my wish list than in my cart 😊 some did stayed in my wish list forever other did come home at some point but I continue to use my older but new supplies first before thinking of buying. Also, last year made one new that was not to stress if I didn't send on time or at all any cards because I couldn't or didn't want/feel like it and surprisingly I was ok with it. The first few months were hard as I was used to pressure myself to get the cards out but then I just did what I could or didn't and it was ok. I love making cards, it's what helps my depression and but decided if I don't enjoy what I do then it takes the fun out of it because of it decided that this year I will continue with this. I have to enjoy my hobby as much as I can to make it work for me 😊

This card design was one I learn last year with Stamp with Anna and loved it. I used 2-1/4" EK circle punch to do my opening, the fireworks is a stamp by Great Impressions with dusty concord and wilted violet inks the Happy New Year is a very old sticker I got at Michaels that needed to use or donate and since it fit perfectly in my window I used
