Monoprinting Homework 4 card

For the second panel on the watercolor homework, I wanted to show the panel I liked the color so had to do something it will leave most of it open.

so looking around my dies I remember a Christmas die I had not used as of yet, one of those that you buy with the intention of using but time just run out anyway it was perfect I cover part of my panel with white glitz glitter gel by Gina K Design & Them-O-Web, after it was dry I applied my frame with foam and it's nativity scene sidekick frame & stencil by Poppy Stamps. I cut off all the Christmas stuff off so I would just had the frame and then stamped my message from floral encouragement card set by MSE! with VersaFine Clair nocturne

Monoprinting Homework 4 Card

For the first panel I made on the watercolor print it looked sort of Christmas

so this is the card I made with it. I used Kat Scrappiness double stitched rectangle dies to cut my layers, then die cut my message from two dies, one is a mother's day as it was the biggest die I could find that had Feliz and then the other had the Navidad. I used black pearls for the dots on the "i"

Monoprinting Class Homework 4

I got to finally play with my homework for last month's class, this was using watercolors. The ones used by Sara Naumann were from Altenew that come like in pans that you can get out of your palette. I only have my Altenew brushes and some pearl-ex.

For both I decided to try my new plates that were Monoprint Plate by Grafix they are not gelli they just a clear plastic, they work fine but different

The first one was applying the watercolor straight on the Gelli plate, I used Altenew watercolor brushes sweet leaf & crimson, I used regular Neenah 80lb. cardstock

For this one was using dish soap and then the watercolor, again I used Altenew watercolor brushed purple wine and didn't remember if I was supposed to spritz with water or not so I did. I used watercolor paper for this one

New Home

A couple friends move recently, one moved out of state and the other just farther up away than where she was so wanted to make them a card. New home cards are a bit hard to make specially because it's a big change in their lives, personally they are harder than a sympathy card LOL
I kept going through all my stamps and none were calling my name then I saw the recent set by W Plus 9 or I think it was recent and decided that was the one I wanted to use but of course it was out of stock that's why I thought it was recent as both places I normally shop at was out for so long and by the time the stamp was in stock the dies weren't. Normally I don't buy dies as usually they don't match right, my OCD I guess, anyway the idea I had originally was cutting too many pieces and as much as I hate dismatching dies I hate fuzzy cutting so decided to wait for the dies by the time the dies were available I changed my idea LOL but still used the dies and ended up fuzzy cutting as only The Stamps of Life gives you two options of cutting your images which is great love that! anyway this is the card I made.

I used for my front layer half of sheet of the Concord & 9th hues starter cards, my images are were colored with Copic Markers and the set is called neighbors, the washi tape I believe I got at Impress, and the messages in the front and inside are from Technique Tuesday set home is. All stamping was done with Hero Arts intense black another ink I'm trying to see if I like. It's Copic friendly not very black unless you stamp a couple time and again it stains the stamps.  I added Spectrum Noir sparkle crystal clear on the house I wanted a little glitter but this time you can see it as somehow I press the barrel I guess too much and a lot came out LOL I do like this glitter brush better than Wink of Stella, you can see the glitter better even with a lighter touch

Happy 24th Anniversary

Today is our 24th anniversary and when I saw the card at Cards by Taylor it was a card I had to make first because it was a fancy fold and second it had a lighthouse. One of my favorite things is visiting the lighthouses in our area as well as waterfalls. Anyway this card is not a standard card at all, it does fold flat to mail but you'll need I believe a 6" x 9" envelope. The envelope itself wouldn't cost more postage but will all the dimension I added to this card plus I used thick cardstock it was thick and heavy so it did cost extra but I was giving it to Bret so I didn't care size of envelope or weight and some time if a card I want I still don't care my recipient deserves the card regardless of the cost. Bret in the other hand doesn't get an envelope 😀

I did all the stamping with teal zeal ink the sets were sailing home and matching dies by SU, just a number by Papertrey Ink, for the inside message it's an old stamp I  unmounted by Heartfelt Impressions. Two embossing folder high seas also by SU and anchor by Park Lane. Stitched nested labels dies by SU. The linen thread is left over from a past paper pumpkin

Anniversary

Since this is our wedding anniversary weekend thought I show some anniversary cards all weekend 😊 this card was a quick card that I saw with Rachel Tessman where you used DSP to show both sides of the paper. The card itself was not for wedding anniversary but still for anniversary. It went on my donation box for Gray Matter Foundation. The DSP was sycamore street pack, ribbon from stash, the message is from floral anniversary card set by MSE! with VersaFine Clair nocturne and punched out with story label punch by SU I changed Rachel's card and made my card even all around as I didn't like my DSP not the same size as my card base so DSP is 4" x 5-1/2" card base folded was 4" x 5-1/2" with a border of 1"

Shoebox Thursday by Darlene

For today's project Darlene had for us a clean & simple anniversary card in one of my favorite color combos black & white. We used SU's frame tulip textured impressions embossing folder, the main image is weed patch by Endless Creations stamped with VersaFine Clair nocturne, the message is also by Endless Creations from their anniversary fun cube. This cube has also a happy birthday, happy mother's day and father's day which we could have done any of these other messages on our card if we wanted but I decided on Anniversary as it was appropriate for this time we used two punches I believe the 7/8" scallop circle punch is by SU and the other punch is by EK by the color of the punches but not 100% sure as Darlene didn't have them marker

Runway Inspired Card Making Homework

Today was the first class on this series of classes by Altenew by Jennifer Rzasa. She is using Vogue Fall 2019 fashion show for her inspiration on the cards we are making, and the first class was using lines. Her card was using the new buffalo stencil which is kind of cool actually so decided to use my buffalo background stamp by SU with Altenew Crisp permanent black that I'm testing to see if I like it. It's Copic friendly, nice black BUT it really stains the stamps so not a favorite thing for me OCD not even Stazon cleaner removes most of it 😕 anyway also used grosgrain ribbon from my stash, Kat Scrappiness to cut my layer and black strip and the message was die cut a few times and the last layer was on glitter silver paper and it's by ECD

Shoebox Tuesday

While working in my craft room on cards for my friends and family I always decide if the card is one that will work for our project and sometimes with the supplies I have out I come up with different project and that was the case on this card. I was working on our grand-daughter's back to school card and had the Nuvo Crystal Drops and remember a card Justine Hovey did with a PPP set so this card came about from that. It's clean and almost simple but I liked it as it's colorful and even though it did take me a bit of time to do it was simple.

I stamped my rainbow image with amalgam ink whisper which is a  pretty light color but great for this as you don't want your ink to show, the I used my Nuvo Crystal Drops for the pink, orange, green and purple and one Liquid Pearls as I didn't have a blue or yellow in Nuvo Drops...yet also, as you can see I didn't have red but I had hot pink which was fine for me, pink or red same difference in the rainbow as this stamp didn't have enough lines for all the colors anyway LOL As you might know when you used this kind of enamel mediums if you let them dry over night they will maintain their full dimension, but if you want them to be in the flat side after 45min-an hour you can put something on top and they will have more of a flat look. I love the flat look most of the time as you have the look of dimension but not the bulkiness specially when I'm donating cards but for this card I did let the card dry over night as I want it to look like pearls then I added my message which is from rainbow2stamp set by The Stamps of Life with VersaFine Clair nocturne

Get well

This card was done using an idea from Crafting with Katherine. I used farmanimals2stamp set with amalgam ink colored with Copic markers and matching die, I also stamped the chick all over the background with summer sky ink; the band aids were stamped with bandage2stamp set with shaded lilac, dried marigold & sage shadow inks and cut with matching dies both sets and dies are by The Stamps of Life

Happy 90th

Today's is our adoptive uncle's birthday and this is the card I made for him. I used Tim Holtz steampunk alterations embossing folder for my inside layer, then for the front I used sprightly sprockets die by Spellbinders, the stamping is from number of years set by SU with ground espresso ink and the pocket watch brad that is keeping the card closed I got at Impress

Lighthouse

A dear friend sent me a few images of this lighthouse two of them were stamped and embossed in black on white cardstock and the other in a grayish paper, she knows how much I like lighthouses and this is what I came up with the images. Since the images were a gift don't know by whom they are from.

I used my blending tools to add oxide inks broken china and vintage photo but on the first two that were white also colored the lighthouse in candied apple on the other I left it uncolored. The message is from SU's high tide set with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and the light of the lighthouse was done with a stamp from the same high tide set with mustard seed ink

Non existing flowers

In one of my Yahoo groups we had a mingle (aka swap) where we had to create a card with flowers that didn't exist the colors and since I had recently used the poppies background stamp from MFT for my shoebox project it was the perfect stamp to work on this card.

I stamped the background with intense black ink then I picked one of the 3 poppy blooms stamps and colored it with Copic markers and used the matching die to die cut it and mounted with foam and to finish the card just added a few drops of black enamel accents by Ranger. I don't think there are black flowers of any kind except when the floweriest makes them that color but I'm not an expert in flowers except when it comes to killing them 😁

Shoebox Thursday

For today's project it's inspired by a card I saw at Lorri's blog Confessions of a stamping addict. I don't care for top folded cards but decided that I liked the awning better when the card was displayed on a top folded than on a regular fold. She also made it a one layer card but of course as you know I don't like one layer cards 😊 so this was as closed to a layer card as I could get

All the stamping was done from the make a wish set by Pink Fresh Studio with desert sand, rich cocoa, dandelion, love letter & Bahama blue inks for my base of the cake I used two embossing folders the bricked wall is by Tim Holtz Alterations and the wood plank is by SU, the awning was done with an scallop edge die by SU. Originally I made the card and mounted all to the top fold base but don't know about you my layer is never the same size even if I cut it the same size to me was fine as it makes it at tidy up nice guess my OCD

but I wasn't going to worry about my friends about papers being the same size or anything for my friends so it was easier to have a tiny border so no having to match anything. I did end up moving my lower message a bit so it didn't show when the card was displaying

Follow your heart

I made this card playing with my STAY-tion and my life changing blending brushes. I love my STAY-tion for working with stencils I don't have to add any type of adhesive and they don't move. The brushes so far are not something that are easy for my hand as everyone have made it seemed, the one thing I did get a lighter tone of ink but otherwise it was as hard on my hand as using my Tim Holtz blending tools so I guess depending on the look I want it would be what I would use since I have OCD and they are too expensive to have one per color that would also be another thing when using with my friends and it's too much work having to be cleaning the brush after each color unless I'm only using enough colors for the amount of brushes I have 😀

I used distress oxide wilted violet, I should had let it dry completely before continuing but I didn't think I added enough ink with this brush, anyway, I put my triangle stencil by PPP then applied white Glitz Glitter gel by Gina K Design & Them-O-Web and set aside to dry. When it was completely dry I added my message from Gina K Design's set heart with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and die cut from the matching die 3 hearts, glued them together, added purple Wink of Stella glitter brush, then Spectrum Noir Sparkle crystal clear brush as the Wink of Stella wasn't leaving enough spark and finally glossy accent

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I have a card idea from Altenew by Laurie Willison. I used the set hope by Concord & 9th with tuxedo black and love letter inks, masked that section then stamped with delicate flower bed set by Altenew with tuxedo black and to finish the card added 3 clear droplets by PPP

Paper Pumpkin

This card was done as an alternative to the November 2018 kit to you & yours. I made it long after Christmas and even though I love Christmas I didn't want to work on Christmas cards at the time so decided to do something totally different.

I used blissful blooms set from paper pumpkin August 2018 with early espresso ink for my message, a flower set stamped with amalgam ink on the vellum and colored with Copic marker on the back even though I could have used it on the front as the ink is Copic friendly, I die cut my vellum and frame out of the scallop circle die by PPP

Paper Pumpkin

This card was an alternative card to the November 2018 kit to you & yours. I didn't want to make Christmas cards since I made the cards after the holidays so this was my take

I used blissful blooms paper pumpkin set from August 2018 for my message with cherry cobbler, scallop circles dies by PPP for my frame, butterfly gala set with cherry cobbler and matching punch also sponged some ink on the edge, added some pearls as body, the thick twine was from kit as well as the wood texture paper which was negative pieces or left over pieces

Monoprinting Cards

The next panels on my homework were the two for one and I continue the same when doing the cards. Again the panels were 5" x 7" cut in half giving me 3.5" x 5" mounted on some purplish color cardstock then on white cardstock again cut a bit to make my border even all around. Cut my Hola with an alphabet die then cut a border around with my stitched rectangle framelits die by SU the letters that came out on the first card went on the second card. I added some enamel dots from my stash on both cards. For the second set I added glossy accent on the letters

Monoprinting Cards

Since today is my dad's birthday thought I show this card 😊 my second panel on my homework, again it was 5" x 7" and cut in half but this time the other way as I wanted all the colors to show on the card. The card is an odd size but didn't matter as I had envelopes from greeting cards or something that fit perfectly just had to cut the card to about 4" wide and it's just about 7.5" the happy birthday is a die by The Stamps of Life part of the 3D pop-up drop-in. The enamel dots were sort of shimmery

Shoebox Thursday by Kathy

For today's project we have a manly card although I guess it could be use for anyone 😊 we used the sale-a-bration SU set home to roost with tuxedo black, on the background it had the second generation stamping, for the rooster it was colored with stampin write markers cucumber crush and real red and then the brown I used my Copic markers instead of the crumb cake, for the banner I used my banner triple punch and only cut on one end and adhered to one side instead of cutting on both ends and adhering on the center. The ribbon is somehow velvety with a silver edge. I believe the circles are from the layering circles framelits dies also by SU

Monoprinting cards

For my first panel on my homework, the panel was 5" x 7" so I cut it in half giving me two pieces of 3.5" x 5. Both cards are pretty much the same just the difference is the water splatter. I mounted on a lavender cardstock then on white, did cut a bit to make it an even border around. The thanks die is by Altenew and the words are from the matching set halftone thanks which I stamped with VersaFine Clair nocturne. On the die I added black Wink of Stella glitter blush then glossy accent as I wanted some glitter showing through but it didn't work, I couldn't tell if it had any shimmer on it or not. I also added some enamel dots from my stash
