Tuesday shoebox

For today's shoebox wanted to try a technique that at some point was shared as Tuesday Try This. It's called pillow top. I saw two ways of doing it and this one is the one I liked better.

What I did was cut my paper to size (5" x 3-3/4") then I scored diagonally every inch starting in the middle. When you're done you'll have a sheet of diamonds.

Then I sponged the outside edges, to me it was easier to sponge first as it seemed to have more body.

Then started sponging each scored line from top

& bottom, through all the score lines...you could sponge first the top on both sides and then start over sponging the bottom

I then mounted it to my base card and added liquid pearls on each crossing point, let it dry completely and add image, in this case was feline sleepy by Stampendous.

August Card Buffet

For the first time I got one of LeeAnn Greff card buffets. It consist in 8 cards, unfortunately not all different. There is no instructions just a color photo and most of the supplies which is not bad since I'm a visual person. Since she sends all the papers I just need to know colors as I don't know SU colors as I don't any papers and just the stampin' spots from the paper pumpkin :0) the other downside is that since stamps are not included if you don't have the sets and you do get the pack is wasted paper unless it can be use for something else :0)

This is the first card I made and had two packs for this same design. The message is by someone else and the other images are from awesomely artistic set by SU

I was a little MIA but hopefully I'm back :0) for today's shoebox I got inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. It was a sympathy card. Since to me Fall started yesterday I wanted to do a Fall card so used two new sets

The grass is a set by Two Paper Divas, the flowery thingy is by SU as well as the woodgrain and the message is Heartfelt Creations. The embossing folder is also SU

Shoebox Thursday

For today Candee had a messy project for us. She found a new stencil at the LSS and a glittery paste so this is what we did. Don't know who makes the stencil or paste of course you can just add a Christmas message or winter or if in different color a different message :0)

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox I wanted to make a card like the one from Frenchie's online class. Since I'm a visual person I figure my friends would get the card better if they saw how it was done in person and I could give them my tips on what made it easier or harder.

If I remember right Frenchie said you stamped the inside panel before scoring but because I wanted to know where my score lines where for stamping I decided to score then stamp. Yes it put a mark but when the card was folded you couldn't hardly see and for my OCD it worked just fine.

For the butterfly I had left a tab that I thought would give it more stability but then I could see the tab so I decided to cover both front and back :0)

For the sample they did there was no tab to worry about but since there was the short paper I decided to glue the butterfly that came out of the front panel :0)

Also I showed them how I would do my inside panel which would be cutting the butterfly as part of the panel obviously this is more complicated as you can't cut both pieces together to match :0)

All supplies other than paper and ink were SU

Letter Q

In one of my Yahoo Groups I had to make a card with letter Q. I couldn't come up with anything in English so I did Quetzalcoatl. Normally the groups don't have rules for the letters although most people speak English there are some from other nationalities so guess since it's not stipulated we can use any word any language :0) both the Quetzalcoatl as well as the pyramid are Stamp Happy, the map of Mexico is from the internet...I picked a portion that cover the DF and surroundings as Teotihuacan is there :0)

Shoebox Thursday

For this week's shoebox project we didn't make a full project. Kathy had for use to play with reinkers and water. We had two choices of images one was a big butterfly stamp by Stampa Rosa and the other was the doily by SU, I played with both :0)

Stared with wet embossed the image with VersaMark and white embossing powder on watercolor paper then wet the paper real good and started adding the colors with wet brush. The more saturated the more the ink ran or spread around.

For the butterfly I wet pretty good to add the first color then I added hardly any water so the colors wouldn't run to much

I finished two cards out of the piece above. On the first one I used the new SU softly falling folder on the whole piece (black piece and message part), the message is by Sweet Impressions.

On the second I use a free folder from the magazine Papercrafts Essentials, the message is by The Cottage Stamper and EK Success corner rounder punch

For the doily I mudded the colors...first I did all colors in spiral or circle but then just added water to brush and wet all over to mix all colors to give a mud color...I know mud is more in the brown side and this one is in the green side but I like it :0)

This is the card I finished with the piece above. I fussy cut the image, used SU hostess set Exprésate, modern label & ruffled stretch trim

Mexico

Another card used for our independence day. The stamp is by Love You To Bits. Did a little direct to paper

Thursday, September 10, 2015

Label card

This card was done with labels...you stamp and color on the labels and then attach to cardstock, also did direct to paper and if I'm not mistaken this is the card I got published on Vamp Stamp News very long time ago when I used to send things to magazines.

I believe the stamp is by Stamp Happy but don't quote me on that LOL it was an unmounted stamp and used to have my inventory in Page Sage which I loved but when it didn't support new operating systems and there was no help with the company I pretty much lost everything so hard to know who makes what on my unmounted stamps

Another faux postage

I love this Aztec Calendar, more direct to paper. I don't know who makes/made these stamps probably...the calendar probably Stamp Happy

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox I made a manly card. I needed to make some birthday cards and I had seen a card on Pinterest that was perfect, quick and easy. So this is my take at what I remember the card was :0)

I stamped the algae on a page of a book...yes I used a book but it was one that was damaged to start with so I didn't feel bad ripping the pages LOL then I stamped my fishes and cut them with Brother Scan N Cut. The ribbon is Celebrate It from Michaels, the message by Stamps by Judith. The photo doesn't show too well but there are bubbles out of peel-off stickers :0)

Seems I'm not very productive lately and this is our independence day month thought of sharing some of the cards I made in the past with a Mexican flare (sp??).

The word background is by Hero Arts, the piñata is Rubbernecker, the guitar, sombrero & sarape are Good Stamp Stamp Good, and the frame is Stamp It; I used direct to paper to add the color

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project I made a quick clean and simple card.  I used Recollections circle punch & EK Success rounder corner punch. I had done the first two samples for it

The stamps are 3 different SU sets:Te amo, Exprésate, and Feliz Cumpleaños

For this one SU set Te Amo, Endless Creations stamps for a special couple and wishing beautiful year

But since I don't recall my friends do anniversary cards I have two other messages to pick. The first one is by Heartfelt Creations and the second is by A Stamp in the Hand

Odd size card

For one of my Yahoo groups I had to make a card that was anything but square or rectangle card so decided to make this coffee cup. I had seen the tutorial while surfing the net and thought it would be simple as a card or gift card holder.

I can't remember who had the tutorial but she only decorated the front and I decide to do front and back mainly because is not a normal card so you get to flip front and back and a coffee cup is round :0) so my sleeve went front and back BUT I only decorated the front. Also the "lid" was done front and back.

The embossing folder is Darice, the heart is an EK Success punch, the sleeve was done with Fiskars crimper, the inside message is a Fiskars stamp set. I also used my corner punch to round the top of the lid

This is the front closed

This is opened

This is the back

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox I had a very simple card using the double embossing technique. I decided to use one of Tim Holtz diffusers although I had made my own of different shapes.

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a Craft Concepts folder. Also cut two butterflies out of glitter paper with the matching SU's Framelits & Thinlits.
