Sending hugs

This card was done for a mingle aka swap that was using orange, brown & green, since it was a layer stamp set and I was using a stamping tool I made extra cards for sending beside my mingle. The set I used was layered bouquet by Pinkfresh Studio, used Altenew inks orange cream, paper bag, olive & moss. The message is from holiday hugs set by Waffle Flower with VersaFine Clair Nocturne and added some Nuvo Vintage Drops chocolate chip

Thanks

I enjoyed making this card but I probably won't be using this stencil much. When I saw it at Picket Fence Studios loved it but when I got it not so much because it's one of those intricate stencils that you have nothing to hold on to and I use my Make Art STAY-tion with all my stencils so I don't have to use any kind of adhesive as the magnets are great holding the stencils down but with this one I had to use pixie spray. The stencil was triangle collage and I used distress oxide faded jeans with life changing brush after I was done I cut my layer with stitched rectangle die by The Stamps of Life then I mounted my layer to a navy cardstock then white base added my thanks which was cut a few times and then started adding the little Nuvo Crystal drops midnight blue

Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. For most of us this is a new way of celebrating the holiday, we normally have a family gathering but this year we are all staying home and celebrating by ourselves. Staying home, staying healthy so we can hopefully be well to do it soon. We love our family but staying healthy is more important.

This card was done using the My Hero Monthly September 2020 kit pumpkin patch Heroscape. I used the inks that came with the kit just because they were in the kit and it was easy to just use those will play with other colors later but wanted to make some cards and those inks were handy...for the pumpkin patch used moss, grape slush, lemon drop & creamsicle for the corn field lemon drop & cup o' Joe. Then I cut my layer with double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness. Stamped my Snoopy scarecrow with W plus 9 Design Studio pure color dye black ink about 2 maybe 3 times and had to let it dry for a while as when I started coloring it started bleeding, it was supposed to be a safe ink for alcohol markers but maybe since I stamped multiple times I had to let dry or used heat gun but to me it wasn't dark enough and since I had to use the stamp positioner I wasn't going be able to restamp with VersaFine Clair nocturne so had to make sure it was dark from the start as that was it. Used my Copic Markers to color image. The Snoopy images is by Stampabilities. The message is by Impress with VersaFine Clair fallen leaves ink

Happy Thanksgiving

This was a quick card as I sprayed some distress oxide sprays on a box making sure I had some cardstock underneath, learned that trick from Jennifer McGuire and has been great to make quick cards later as all the work is already done. I used walnut stain, vintage photo and fossilized amber then after completely dry I stamped whispering wheat background stamp by Peddler's Pack with VersaFine Clair fallen leaves ink and then I looked into all my dies to see if I had something that said Thanksgiving and found this wreath. It was a little hard to attach to cardstock, I should have removed the release paper while in the die and then attach to cardstock but since I was working on assembly line which means I cut all layer, stamp every and die cut everything then assemble. I assemble all cards as it was easier to add die cut at that point TO ME and that's when I realized it would have been easier to have die cut and apply and I was too lazy to die cut more so did my best to keep them as they should be, wasn't worry about it to be a circle but the words to be straight as...live and learn

Happy Thanksgiving apple

I had colored and finished most of this I think I was going to do it a Halloween card when I did it years ago but then Halloween came and went so put it in my unfinished projects so when I found them decided to finish and I made it Thanksgiving since Halloween had passed again LOL

I used the big pumpkin stamp by Lockhart Stamps with tuxedo black ink and colored with Copic Markers; I die cut my layer with nestabilities leafty square decorative elements die by Spellbinders; I used ribbon tag trio die by Spellbinders and stamped my message by Impress with rich cocoa ink and threaded the stitched satin tangelo twist ribbon from SU

Thank you for your service & Happy Thanksgiving

Since we are still dealing with this pandemic I decided to make another round of cards for the Heroes in my city and my postal mail lady they are out every day.

It's on the simple side since my shoulder still pretty bad but I wanted to make sure they got a greeting card. I used multi step turkey trot set by Kitchen Sink Stamps with Altenew crips dye inks maple yellow, caramel toffee & milk chocolate and to anchor the turkey I used a stamp by Stampendous, tree leaves with morning frost ink. The Happy Thanksgiving message is by Impress with VersaFine Clair fallen leaves. Cut my top layer with double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness

For these cards I used My Hero set by Honey Bee Stamps with VersaFine Clair fallen leaves. These cards were for Heroes in the Algona Police Department

Chief James Schrimpsher, Sergeant Ryan Miller, Detective James McKay, Officer Robert Bonjukian, Officer Hector Aponte, Officer Thomas Coyne, Officer Ben Brown, Specialist Jessica Griess, Specialist Cari Sanford, Reserve Officer Cory Tunnell & Officer Phillip Sanches

and for this card I used Stampa Rosa stamp same ink. This card was for my post office mail delivery Debbie which is awesome

I also have an awesome UPS delivery guy Greg but no packages to be delivered this week or next week so couldn't get him a card as I won't be seeing him

Fall spray cards

Sometime ago I watched a video by Jennifer McGuire where she suggested to use cardstock under your spray area or box that way you didn't waste the excess spray so after doing some spraying for the cards I posted on Wednesday I had a sheet left over for later projects and when I needed some cards this is what I made. All cards were a bit different as the sheet was just short of 11" x 17" and the sprays went all over as I kept moving the layer to fill the big cardstock.

For all the stamping I useVersaFine Clair fallen leaves the stamp on the left is words to birds collage stamp by MB for the first cards the words are by smile stamp set by Gina K Design

and for these cards I used the happy from happy stamp & cut by HA and a wish for everything by SU

Happy Birthday

For this card I made my background by using distress ink and my ergonomic brush started with fossilized amber, rusty hinge, forest moss and seedless preserves then die cut my border with maple leaf side strip & stencil by Poppy Stamps, didn't use the stencil just the die because it's for an A2 size card had to run it twice to cover the slimline size and then stamped with the happy from happycalligraphy2stamp set with VersaFine Clair pinecone by The Stamps of Life and die cut the birthday from their slimline card die set

Paper hug

Suddenly some of the SU demonstrators I normally watch started posting this 3 panel z fold, like Patsy Waggoner, Rachel Tessman, Stamp with Susie, Flowerbug’s inkspot Lee Ann Greff, Crafts by Beth.

I still don't understand why they call it z fold when it's more like an s than a z no matter where you see it from. For my cards I used DSP everyday enchanted, pretty pines Thinlits dies and rose garden Thinlits die, for my message I used paper hugs set by Honey Bee Stamps with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink cut my layer with rectangle stitched Framelits and embellish with liquid pearls dimensional pearlescent white opal

Happy Birthday to me, miss your face

I am bless and grateful be celebrate another birthday on this rainy cold day. This year has been a difficult year for most and for me guess the hard part was when we stopped our play day towards the end of March when our Governor shut down the state for good reason and measurements to control COVID19 as I couldn't see my friends, the not going out was a little hard but got used to it and I'm fine with it. My friends and I used to meet each week mostly to stamp, make cards but some time we just chatted for 4 hours about everything and anything except politic and religion the two subjects that can make you lose friendships. At least my dad always told me when growing up so that was my rule to keep the peace in our meetings...no politics or religion for those that couldn't accept other opinions but theirs.

I am high risk and because of my COPD can't wear a face mask so going out or being around other people was/is not possible or safe, so Bret started thinking on a way we could meet safely and finally, he did something for over our dinning room table, there are 4 individual spots completely seal except from the top of course and it gets sanitized after each meeting. We have some extra rules but I am able to meet again with my friends and we were able to meet yesterday, well we have been meeting for a few times now but yesterday we it was to celebrated Judy's birthday which is Sunday and mine that is today and that could only have been possible thanks to my amazing husband and his creation it might not be 100% COVID proof but since we keep our distance and each of them don't move from their space without a face mask we are as safe as we can be for a few hours

It was a bit hard to do a safe distance photo of all of us but here we are all. The birthday ladies are in the center

Back in August I sent a card to the ones I hadn't seen since March to let them know I was hoping we could meet soon as Bret had said he was working on a project and these are the cards I sent them. For all cards I stamped words background stamp by Local King with amalgam ink whisper 2-3 times depending on the color of the cardstock I just wanted a hint of the image but enough that you could see; for all the mask I used marina mist taffeta ribbon by SU and mounted with a cotton ball in the center to keep it from flatting

For this card I used distress oxide peeled paint with life changing brush to frame my message which was printed from share sunshine SU PDF

For this card I used distress oxide scattered straw with life changing brush to frame my message which was printed from share sunshine SU PDF

and for this card I used distress oxide broken china with life changing brush to frame my message which was printed from share sunshine SU PDF

Happy Veteran's Day

Today we celebrate all men & women that have served the military so we thank you for your service and sacrifice. This card is for you

It was inspired by Mary Polanco, she made a set of cards using the smoosh technique and I liked it so decided to use her idea. I used regular distress ink instead of oxide and I did use all colors in one card just because LOL I dry in between layers antique linen, frayed burlap, vintage photo, old paper, forest moss and ground espresso. Stamped my eagle with VersaFine Clair fallen leaves which is a stamp by A Country Welcome, let it dry used anti static powder and stamped my soldiers 4 times with same ink they are from Lovely Legs military strong set by Colorado Craft Company and added clear fineline embossing powder then with a sponge dauber added some VersaFine Clair fallen leaves all around my layer. I found a piece on my scraps that was already die cut that fit my message perfectly, did some more smoosh inking and sponged and stamped with VersaFine Clair fallen leaves, the set was land of the free by Altenew, used some more scraps to add dimension just because I have more of the same pieces already cut so I could use them. Have way too many scraps

Paper Pumpkin

This is another alternative to my August 2019 The gift of fall kit. I used pretty peacock cardstock, it supposed to be the same color as the add-on gift of fall but the paper pumpkin and SU colors don't match, in my case doesn't matter too much since I don't own their papers so I normally try to match my paper pumpkin to what I have and before pre-pandemic when I went to workshops I did buy a few sheets from my local demonstrators just to have handy but been a while so ran out of most colors and with no workshops and me not going out I really have to work with whatever I have. Anyway for this I use the paper of the kit, I die cut the center of the half card base of the add-on with nesting circles by QuicKutz and used the other side to cut another layer then two circles were mounted with foam. The banner was from kit and I stamped the thinking of you from hello sunshine paper pumpkin set February 2016 with pretty peacock spot ink; I stamped three dots with a Endless Creations dual dots stamp with same pretty peacock spot ink and cover with Nuvo jewel drops limoncello. They were donated to Gray matters Foundation

Paper Pumpkin

This is another alternative to my August 2019 The gift of fall kit. I used Red punch cardstock by Recollections which was the closest to merry merlot color which was one of the kits colors then used half of the bases from the gift of fall add-on stamped the layering marble set by Waffle Flower with crumb cake ink then cut it into 3 strips, used one of the die-cut circle elements from kit and mounted with foam, grabbed one of the banners from the kit and stamped the thinking of you with merry merlot spot ink from the hello sunshine paper pumpkin kit February 2016. These cards went into my donation box to Gray Matters Foundation

Happy 4th birthday

Today our other granddaughter is turning 4 and we were told she is really into the movie Cars and Lightning McQueen so turns out I had a stamp set that I'm not sure if it's exactly the same I think it is as it's one of those talking cars, figure it will do, if not too bad I made the card SPECIALLY for her with love and most important wasn't bought so my effort should count and if at that age she doesn't appreciate my effort then their parents aren't teaching her good values.

I love slimline cards even though back in the day when we/I started making them they weren't called slimline and of course shaker cards has been my thing this year. The name of the set I used was cars-Henry by Sparkle N Sprinkle and used amalgam jet black ink as I was using Copic markers, I was going to stamp with VersaFine Clair nocturne after I colored because I never think the alcohol inks are very dark black but forgot about it and added the glossy accents to the windshield and lights so let it be. The happy birthday is from happycalligraphy2stamp set by The Stamps of Life and 4th is from memorable moments SU set both with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink, the shaker frame was done with stitched scallops 2-in-1 slimline essentials dies by Kraftgali, cut 3 layers in red and 4 in white and used 3mm rhinestones as my bits to shake. I also sprinkle some Nuvo mica mist midnight horizon and distress spray stain candied apple which don't show on photo.

Milestone Anniversary

After I made my golden card a while back I decided to use the same supplies for my milestone anniversary. It was also a shaker card so I cut my detailed floral Thinlits dies then my stitched rectangle die by The Stamps of Life twice mounted the acetate between the frame and the acetate then added foam my sequins from JoAnn Fabrics. The number is from whimsy U/L/N/P die set by Spellbinders, the happy is from handwritten designer cutting dies by Little B and the anniversary is from wonderful stamp & cut set by HA with VersaFine Clair ink nocturne cut with banner triple punch by SU

Sending wishes

I wanted to make a fall card and since it was a multi step I made multiple cards the first card was the one I wanted and the others were birthday cards. They all were done with the multi step big leaves set by Kitchen Sink Stamp for the most part is a good set to use but customer service on the company, I didn't find it to be the greatest, won't be buying from them regardless of the quality of their stamps since I think for a small company customer service should be very important. All inks were Altenew except for the message which was from elegant aster card kit by Gina K with VersaFine Clair pinecone. Used Nuvo vintage drops chocolate chip for embellishments. Cut top layer with double stitched rectangle dies by Kat Scrappiness

Altenew ink: Green fields collection forest glades; Tropical forest collection olive, moss; summer afternoon collection buttercream, paper bag, caramel toffee; warm and cozy collection sunkissed, autumn blaze; pocketful of sunshine collection maple yellow, fresh lemon; coffee break collection rocky shore; delectable delights collection hazelnut; red sunset collection velvet

I die cut my top layer with double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness and then die cut my happy anniversary which is a die by Stamps of Life with vellum and black cardstock. I added some heart rhinestones from my stash and after everything was done I just felt it needed something so I spray with shimmer sparkle

Don't forget to VOTE

I'm one of those that don't really care if I vote or not, yes it a right I don't always use but I always complaint about the waste of tax payers money for a vote here or there, that we shouldn't have so many for things that don't even make sense, that it should only be once a year or when we have to vote for people so whatever we need to vote on keep it to then so we don't have to mail so many ballots and also make it easier to read & understand and never put two things on the same question so we don't have to decide do if we want to help veterans but don't want to help something else and then we say yes or no because helping one helps the other. The most important I hate politics so all the annoying phone calls BUT this year is important to vote since we are voting for President and in some cases for Governor like in our state so make your voice count.

In the stamping side which is why you are here for, these were done with my January 2020 Paper pumpkin I'll bee yours kit using the smooch technique. The first card with rococo rose spot ink, the printed die-cut hearts are from kit, stamped on one of them from kit set with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and used some sequins from kit on the center of flowers, the enamel dots are from past kit, message is from dragonfly greetings set by Birch Press Desing with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

for this card all was the same except I used lavender lace spot ink for the smooching technique

Feliz Día de Muertos

Today is Day of the Death, day to celebrate the loved ones that had moved on to we hope a better life. In Mexico is a big celebration and in recent years in the US I have been able to see many dies and stamps for the occasion well skulls mainly not everything that we used for the celebrations as I still would like to find a nice die for faux papel picado but no such luck and I just can't make any small enough for a card tried and didn't work out so well. For this year I used the stamp by Card Craft Stamps sugar skull. I stamped it 3 times twice as HA intense black TO ME is not a dark ink, tuxedo black wasn't either but it was the only ink when we started with alcohol markers so we didn't have a choice now I have like 10 choices and I still don't like neither but since I was stamping  multiple times I couldn't come back with VersaFine Clair nocturne after I was done coloring as I have been doing because two images would not be align exactly the same way as I just eyeball where to stamp in my card panel. When I was done I decided to add some ink so I masked my skulls and used my Altenew ergonomic brush to add some seedless preserves oxide ink, mounted on a black layer and then mounted on my base. The message is from HA's sugar skulls set with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

Paper Pumpkin

My sister asked me for some treat boxes. She is always giving me the Altoids empty boxes in case I can use them for something since I always did something for the table during the holidays over time I have done a few for her to give away, this time it was Halloween for a couple kids. At first wasn't sure what I was going to do as I didn't know I had anything but then I remember the paper pumpkin kit came last year that I really didn't use it had all those printed die-cuts and they came out handy so the boxes were a mixed of Halloween and Día de Muertos. I had so much fun creating this tiny boxes.

I colored part of the box lid with a black Copic marker so you couldn't see the color of the box then added fun foam so it was flat as it's not flat due to the embossed Altoid name and cover with purple cardstock cut my grass with a slimline border as it was the only die I had that was thin grass then I remember I had a punch but I already had the die cut and it was added with foam. The tag that I believe it was a tumbstone maybe was stamped with the bone appétit set of the kit I removed the stamp that came in the frame and used VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

For the inside I found a spider web paper in my stash that just glued directly then added the printed die-cut from kit but added the red rhinestones by Recollections, on the bottom the hands which were also from the kit

for the side to cover all the things from the box I used washi tape on the bottom part, is haunted washi tape by Recollections and on the top, 2 different washi tapes by Me & My Big Ideas

and for the back I just thought it was too empty space with just my stamp even if no one looks on the bottom, so I added the crows from My Hero Monthly kit from September HeroScapes pumpkin patch also with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink
