Winter wishes

We have been lucky so far, it has been very cold but we haven't had any snow. I know some other states and even in our state have gotten some but not in my city which is good even if I'm stuck at home. For these cards I used distress oxide sprays mermaid lagoon and faded jeans a bit of distress spray stain picket fence, mica spray brushed pewter and shimmer spray frost. When it was completely dry I die cut my layer with double stitched rectangle by Kat Scrappiness then stamped dancing snowflakes background stamp by MB with blue bayou ink and die cut the snowflake from Jen Long snowflake wreath framelit with stamps set. The message warm winter wishes is from color layering baby penguin set by HA same ink punched out with large oval by SU the tiny birthday is by Endless Creations I cut it for the happy birthday that was part of a cube. The winter cards went in my donation box for Gray Matter Foundation

Feliz Día de las Guadalupes

Today in Mexico is a big celebration, we celebrate the Virgen of Guadalupe and everyone that has the name Guadalupe has a Santo and my mom is included as well as some friends so this year I decided to make a slimline card for them. Thousands of people all over the world come to the Basilica to visit the Virgin, not sure how will it be this year with the pandemic, how sad times. We were able to visit one year so Bret could see how it was just before the day as this day it's a day we/my family would not be there

I used the new set by Colorado Craft Company slimline poinsettias,  I just had to have this set as poinsettias are my most favorite flowers don't care what color but specially the red. Growing up we used to have a tree or plant right outside the door and during December-March it bloomed so big that cover half our yard, our yard was little but still. Anyway I sprayed my layer with oxide spray fire brick, spray stain candied apple and shimmer spray frost then stamped one of the poinsettias from the set. The message is from two Spanish messages set one by Stampendous the one that says Felicidades and the other unknown. The enamel dots are from Recollections. All stamping was done with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

Happy 4th birthday

Today our other granddaughter is turning 4 and we were told she is really into the movie Cars and Lightning McQueen so turns out I had a stamp set that I'm not sure if it's exactly the same I think it is as it's one of those talking cars, figure it will do, if not too bad I made the card SPECIALLY for her with love and most important wasn't bought so my effort should count and if at that age she doesn't appreciate my effort then their parents aren't teaching her good values.

I love slimline cards even though back in the day when we/I started making them they weren't called slimline and of course shaker cards has been my thing this year. The name of the set I used was cars-Henry by Sparkle N Sprinkle and used amalgam jet black ink as I was using Copic markers, I was going to stamp with VersaFine Clair nocturne after I colored because I never think the alcohol inks are very dark black but forgot about it and added the glossy accents to the windshield and lights so let it be. The happy birthday is from happycalligraphy2stamp set by The Stamps of Life and 4th is from memorable moments SU set both with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink, the shaker frame was done with stitched scallops 2-in-1 slimline essentials dies by Kraftgali, cut 3 layers in red and 4 in white and used 3mm rhinestones as my bits to shake. I also sprinkle some Nuvo mica mist midnight horizon and distress spray stain candied apple which don't show on photo.

Wishing you

For these cards I used some left over backgrounds. Jennifer McGuire said once that if you were going to do some spraying it would be a good idea to use paper behind that you could reuse so instead of using text weight paper on my box or the plain box I cover my box with card stock every time I was spraying with my distress spray and this was some of my left over pieces I just cut them to fit my card. Stamped with VersaFine Clair ink nocturne the message is from sending & wishing stamp set by SSS and added some enamel accents dimensional faux enamel black

Joyful Blessings

One last Valentine's I sent this year. When I did the snow festival designer printed tags most of them were Christmas except for this one, it had hearts so for me it was more for Valentine's of any other thing so decided to use it for Valentine's. I cut my red layer with stitched rectangle die by Stamps of Life and sprayed it with distress stain candied apple when dried mounted all my layers and stamped the message out of a Christmas set by Recollections with real red

10th Day of Christmas

Many years ago I bought a little book of tags or some sort from SU, and of course never used them because I'm not a tag person and when I bought them I didn't mean to use them as tags so finally finished them they were all in Christmas them. one side was tag like and the other side was more background paper so decided to use the tag side as it was perfect for a quick Christmas card

It had 5 different images one was not Christmas so didn't use for my card but the other 4 I did. Can you tell I have been having fun with my sprays?? I did a bunch of backgrounds using distress spray stain candied apple after they were all dry I cut my layers with stitched rectangle die by The Stamps of Life for this one I stamped my snow festival designer printed tags with pining for plaid paper pumpkin stamp set from October 2017 with real red ink

I did my background first with distress spray stain candied apple, distress oxide spray fired brick, Nuvo mica mist midnight horizon and Sheer shimmer craft spray frost after it was complete dry I cut my layer with stitched rectangle die by The Stamps of Life, then stamped my Santa’s boot stamp by The Cottage Stamper with VersaFine Clair ink nocturne did some coloring with Zig memory system pigment ink pure black, Memento dual marker bamboo leaves and added the red pearls by MB and finally added my message by Rubber Marbles with same VersaFine Clair ink nocturne

after I had the card ready to mail and all had an extra piece and kept looking at it and decided to step it up so added some Copic opaque white and of course changed the message one that was custom made

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I had a messy project using distress spray stain I have them 3 colors and of course each card came out different depending on how far or how close, how much or how little you press the stray it's how much stain you get. After they did their spray they heat set their paper and then stamped the image which was autumn leaf collage by Memory Box with VersaFine Clair fallen leaves. My card I didn't heat set as I had plenty of time to dry and looking at my recipe I also used one oxide spray color. The colors I gave them were candied apple, shaded lilac and scattered straw. the oxide I used was cracked pistachio these are the cards I made using this colors. The layers were cut with double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness and rectangle stitched framelits by SU. The outer piece, the frame was mounted on foam and the inside piece was mounted flat
