It was pretty easy to make and doesn't take more cardstock than any other card so would be a really good idea for Christmas cards ;0)

Box card
I was looking at DOstamping's blog and found her tutorials for different fold cards so decided to play with some of them. I just finished this one right now it's what she called box card. I decided since it was a flat card to mail I wanted to do a band that would still keep it flat to mail, I believe with no extra postage. I think what she used was nice it sort of keep the idea of a box BUT it would need extra postage as the cording is thick.

Tilt card fold
Last week's Sunday tip or technique was the tilt card fold. The tutorial was by Christina Griffiths. Since I had to finish my card for one of our mingles, Letter E decided to use this card fold...two birds with one stone :0). The embossing folder is Cuttlebug. The image is by Crafter's Companion colored with Copic markers. It folds flat for mailing and it stands on its own. You do need 6x9 envelope to mail. No extra postage would be require, of course, you could use a square envelope but then you do need extra postage.
I decided to try and make this fold card to fit in an A6 envelope just to play around as it's the size envelope I use the most, even though I do have every size envelope I could need and if I don't I can always make one to fit my card
and I also made one to fit an A2 envelope

Class in the mail
I finally worked on one of the classes in the mail packet or card kit from Frenchie @ Frenchie Stamps. I did almost everything as the instructions but you know me I always end up changing something here for sure was the inks, I only have 5 SU ink pads but I like using only inks that are Copic friendly.
These kits come with everything...papers, embellishments, stamps and instructions, pretty much all we have to do is stamp, color & put together.
On this first card I used Memento ink rich cocoa. The middle piece I was supposed to glue all the way to the left then cut excess and glue that piece to the other side towards the right side BUT decided to cut it in half without thinking that since the piece was 1/4" shorter and with the frame only the right side that would cover the gap, I ended up leaving a tiny border evenly on all 4 sides and looks like it was meant to be that way :0)
This card was supposed to be stamped on watercolor paper and color with water brush but I decided to color with Copic markers again use Memento ink and Neenah paper
This one I also used Memento ink and colored with Copic markers,
This one was the painter's tape technique I used Memento ink, Distress ink and SU. Other than using these inks I also sponged all around the main image piece
Last but not least I used Memento ink on the message & bird everything else is just like the sample...SU product :0)

Shoebox Thursday
Today for our shoe-box project I did another Halloween card this time I did Frankenstein. Once again I cut all with the SNC machine. I just love that I can cut all the pieces on one time :0)

Bird house
This week's Tuesday try this was a birdhouse using the new SU arrow punch. The idea was from Dawn O. Since I don't have that punch I decided to do it with the Brother Scan N Cut (SNC). The branch is a Memory Box die which I stamped with SU woodgrain to give it some texture, was hoping for a more realistic branch but not sure it did :0) either way I was good with it. I stamped the house with SU hardwood and sponged the whole thing with memento ink. I did a little mark right on top of the roof as if it was the hook as I didn't want it to show as it was floating :0) the birds were also cut with the SNC machine. For the sky I used one the cloud templates I have using memento ink, our weather has been awful here so decided to do dark clouds just like the ones we are having since it has been non stop rain since yesterday.

Candy corn card
Today I had an extra play day. It was just Darlene & I and we played with the Scan N Cut. Since we were going to do that I decided to make a shoe-box project made with the machine. I sure have been having fun with it, as it makes things so much easier for my hands when needing to cut. Except for the message everything else was done with the machine

Male card
I had lots of fun with this SU set. I needed to stuck up on some male cards as it seems like I'm always running out of cards and then have a hard time coming up with something at the last minute :0)

Halloween
For the dry embossing mingle I decided to do Halloween since it's the next holiday coming up and I seem to be in the Halloween mood :0) I used Tim Holtz Halloween texture fade. I embossed on his paper so I could sand it afterwards...I left the crow, cat and bats unsanded then I added a bat jewel brad as well as the spider just to give it a little bling :0)

Weaving technique
On one of the Yahoo groups I belong, this month's technique challenge was weaving being that Sunday is the first day of Fall this is what I did
I colored the woven piece with Copic markers and airbrush system. I die cut the Spellbinders maple dies and ran them through the Brother Scan N Cut and altered the size. The base of the card was done with the biggest die and made it about 1/8" to 1/4" smaller, just it would fit better on a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece. For the message I used the middle size leaf and reduced about 3/4". I stamped the message first then scanned the cardstock and arranged the leaves so the message was as center as possible...probably it would have been easier if had cut and then stamp but figure doing it my way I could resize the leaves to the perfect size

Shoebox Thursday
Today's shoe-box project was this clean and simple fall card. We carried the design to the envelope which is always nice :0) I used to decorate my envelopes but haven't done it much in the past as it takes extra effort on my hand and most of the time envelopes get damages in transit. Amazing that the post office hasn't figure out a way not to damage the mail :0)

Party favor
Today I had a Mexican lunch for the women of my adoptive family and this is what I made for a treat on each place. I decided not to add names so they could all pick where they wanted to sit as we were all women...when I have couples I like to sit couples together. I used the SU dress up die as a base and created the little box with the Brother Scan N Cut. Both sides look the same (green top and red skirt) except for the pin on the front. It was like a decoration plus closure. I didn't want to glue the top so it would be easy to take the candy without breaking but at the same time I kind of wanted close so I did the pins. The treat was a mazapan a Mexican candy
The pin represents the our flag

Día de la Independencia / Independence Day
As most of you know I'm from Mexico City and tomorrow is our independence day BUT we celebrate it tonight. Growing up we used to go to our City Hall/Centro Cívico to celebrate. It has a big park on both sides of the building so mostly on one side were rides and games and on the other side were booths with typical food. If I recall correctly many years ago at midnight the Mayor would do the Grito de Independencia...the same that the President does at El Zócalo which now is done at an earlier time, and I think they had cancelled the celebration at our City Hall. Since the celebration is on the 15th you use the holiday to rest from parting all night :0) but mainly for the military parade. From about mid August to Independence day everywhere you go you see everything patriotic you could need for the Fiesta Mexicana. It's the ONLY time you find patriotic things for sell. On the 17th all is gone until the next year. Prices are the same from the day the sales start to the last day, 16th. There is no point on waiting until the last minute to get what you want or need to celebrate and obviously earlier you might find more things than towards the last days.
Being away from home and since I started card making I tried to send my family a handmade card. Sometimes is hard as all you find here as a theme are piñatas, maracas, not so nice sombreros, donkeys things that do not reflect our Country but I still try to make it work and hopefully my family will see it as a funny American style Mexican card :0)
While surfing Pinterest I saw a triangle shape card, I believe was by Always Stamping which I loved so decided to try it out and it's my new favorite "normal" card. She was the only one I saw that had "flat" triangle cards even showed how to make the envelope BUT it fits perfectly on regular envelopes either A2 or A6
Our colors are green, white & red.
This table is where I normally set up my nativity at Christmas time so the rest of the year I put some of my Snoopys out, this time I picked the ones with no theme so I could have them ready to party for Independence LOL

So those are the colors I always try to use for my cards...not always the right tone but oh well :0) I found the sombrero on Google and colored it with Copic Markers to give it our colors. The message is from a very old SU set and colored in 3 different colors since white obviously wouldn't show I used gray
I change the decorations all around the house for holidays that I can decorate so this is what I have as decoration on my dining room for Independence day. Obviously everything is from Mexico either bought in one of our trips or sent by my family...except for the Snoopys of course :0)
Our table sits 8 people comfortably but we have sit 12 people. My sister help me fixed the center piece as the way I had it you couldn't appreciate the awesome sombrero. (it's black & gold) very elegant and of course the reboso helps :0)
Even my big Snoopy by the entrance is ready to party

Screen divider card fold
I had been wanting to make this fold card but since Christmas is in my mind I wanted to make it Christmas BUT in the mean time I went ahead and made it manly :0) I cut ALL but one of the pieces with the Brother Scan N Cut. The moose just didn't want to cooperate :0( anyway, except for that one panel I liked the end result. The card base cut file is without the top border that way I can do whatever I'm in the mood for, and I can also cut any size card I want, this one I cut 10.75" x 5.5" then I punched the Martha Stewart border punch. The stamps are SU. I was on the lazy side so I stamped it with rich cocoa on a very light beige card stock so I could just cut and glue without any coloring. I used summer sky for the clouds...it's a very very light tone so you can hardy see on pictures but you do see it in person :0)

Bendi fold card
Some people call this fold Bendy others Bendi and since it doesn't really matter how it's called but the fold itself I will just call it Bendi as it looks better to me LOL
This one was one of the Sunday tip or technique that was shared in one of my Yahoo groups. I hadn't been able to work on it for a few reasons one of them was I didn't want to add the 3 pieces together I wanted just ONE piece. So I played around and this I what I was able to do and have it on the Brother Scan N Cut so all I have to do is cut on whatever paper I want. I can cut two card bases out of one 12" x 12" sheet. Besides the card base, I also cut with the machine the back grass and Tilda. She is one of the images I colored a few years ago with my Copic Markers and finally got to use it.
The clouds and trees are dies by Memory Box. Since the tree is pretty detail I made my one sticky paper so I didn't have to worry on how to glue other than using runny glue...the downside was there was a lot of adhesive exposed and I couldn't find any of my 3 stamping buddies! go figure I think they hide from me because I hate embossing LOL I added some glitter all over the exposed adhesive and problem solve although I got glitter all over. I also added some flower soft to make them spring/summer trees. The picket fence and front grass are Martha Stewart punches.
I know, I should have put the Tilda higher as the trees are right on her face but oh well, next time. This is how the tree looks on the front
Thank you Desiree for getting me to work on this fun card.

mini side step card
I was searching Pinterest and found a little cute card. The person that had it pin said the tutorial didn't work for her and of course I had to give it a try :0) She was right the tutorial instructions didn't work but since I had decided to make the card I worked on it until it work to me :0) I didn't use the tutorial scoring dimensions...at least not all of them :0)
The brick wall embossing folder is Tim Holtz Alterations, everything else SU.
The base of the card is 3" x 6" folded in 3" x 3"
Other than having to figure out the score lines it was a fun little project to make

Pop-up gifts
I made this card with a Tuesday Try This post. The tutorial was by Dawn Olchefske, she made a birthday card. I'm sure it would work with any other theme. I made mine Christmas. The front is a 3D sticker by EK Success
This is the kind of card you hand-deliver due to thickness.

Fancy flap fold card
This card was Template or Technique of the month in one of the yahoo groups I belong to, a Sunday Tip or Technique on another group and also Tuesday Try This in another group. I made two cards with this fold, like always since I don't like to glue two pieces together to make the base, I made it smaller than normal A2 size. My thought is that since most people use either 8.5" x 11" or 12" x 12" make it normal card size wouldn't fit in those papers without making a two-piece card base. My card is about 4" x 5" folded
On this first card I use an Endless Creations flower stamp and thinking of you. The inside message is Savvy stamps (I think)
For this other card I decided to make it two tone card...white and blue. The prima flowers are Recollections, the hexagon for the message was punched out with SU punch with matching stamp set
but the one on the flap was cut with the Brother Scan N Cut.Also instead of throwing away the corners I cut off I used them as part of the card
and I decided to do some stamping on the insert not enough that there isn't room to write a note but enough to cover 1/3 of the bottom part. The hexagon stamps are from the set I used on the from by SU and the message is by Hero Arts
also I added two way glue to the tip to keep flap closed.
