Create & Connect 4

I joined the Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect online event in May. It was a two day event with 3 classes on Saturday and 2 classes on Sunday plus a demo. Each class included 2 cards except for the watercolor class that was just the technique. Also, there was a make & take on each class.

I decided to watch the classes and then work on my cards so at the end I did my own thing but trying to follow the class idea. In some I did change a bit others a lot but guess that's where our creativity comes in place. I didn't follow their colors because well I didn't use their inks so I did what I was feeling at the moment. For 4 classes I used Altenew crisp dye inks and the one that was supposed to be watercolor since I don't do watercolor I used distress oxide inks

The fourth class was with Manushree Mishra and was with handpicked flowers Bundle. This bundle included stamp set, layered stencils and dies. Manushree only taught the watercolor technique but I don't do watercolor so I decided to do no line coloring with Distress Oxide inks.

For the first card I still follow the layout given by Heather except I cut my image to the size of the mini slimline I figured if I left the full image first my OCD when you die cut something you can see the ugliness on the back second if the image is too give it will be bended while in transit with PO they don't take care of envelopes. I started by die cutting essentials mini slimline frames 3 times and gluing them together for dimension used Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock for top layer and scrap cardstock for the bottom layers

Die cut from scrap just the center of the flower for dimension and the flower was glued straight on the whole panel and cut off whatever was out. This bundle had stamp set which I didn’t use for this card only the layered stencils and coordinating die cuts, I die cut first and then stenciled. Leaves: rustic wilderness, peeled paint; Flowers 1: kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry; Flowers 2: dried marigold, rusty hinge; Flowers 3:  mustard seed, fossilized amber; Flowers 4: dusty concord

Message is from the die cut foiled sentiments 3 and finally embellished with metallic gold jewels by Pretty Pink Posh

  1. Beautiful, happy card! Wish it was a bit larger so we could see more detail! Your stenciling is really nice...BTW...

  2. Thanks Marilyn. I have no control on the size of photos I think but I could take a closed up photo of the flowers only
