Valentine cards
Since I'm either giving cards today or mailing them, yes I'm posting before they get to their destination but been waiting to post for a while :0) Surprisingly I had my cards done early enough.

Easel card
My sister wanted a "pretty" easel card for a friend of hers using Magnolia Tilda sitting on a bench. She likes easel cards because she says stores don't sell these type of cards. These is what I came up with. I know she'll pick the purple card but decided to make the two images I had colored as I wanted to try both ways of making the easel card.
The first one was from a card I saw at The frugal crafter's blog "gatefold easel card" and I really like doing two techniques into one card. Finished folded card is just a hair over 5-1/2"x 4-1/4"
First picture is the way it would be given
The second was trying The scrap shoppe "easy" easel card. It was nice having just one piece of paper to make the whole thing BUT I don't think it sits that nicely or maybe it was my thick cardstock. The front panel is 4x4 but the bottom is about 1/2" longer

I used the same bench just different color and also colored Tilda with Copic Markers. On both cards the background was done with memento inks

Squash fold
This was one of the Tuesday try this. I have done it in the past but couldn't find the card so I did another. Since Valentine's still in my mind I made a card with that theme. The tutorial that was given to us was by Dawn Olchefske:

Paper tearing
One more card out of our Sunday Technique. This time the idea was from Beccy's Place. This blog has a lot of card techniques plus ideas.

I should have made the card smaller since I wanted to use this stamp but oh well it was just to try the technique anyway :0)

Shoebox Thursday
This week was my turn to host the shoe-box so we did a file folder card. The first card I saw with this technique was with Dawn
http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/
and like with anything I started seeing other cards done with this technique. We worked on Valentine's since it the next holiday coming up. The white card comes out on this card...and the main card is like a pocket, the washi tape is making the pocket

I made other samples of the same technique. All of these open to see the message...which they don't have at the moment

Stampers' Drop In
Today was Stampers' Drop In (make and take) at Impress. The card we did was using a technique called Ombre...using a light color about 3/4" up and then a dark color about 1/4" down. I couldn't tell on my card the changed of color but we did use Fresh Ink sugar & pink lemonade. The love is a die by Savvy Stamps

Whitewash technique
Today's try this was Lisa Curcio Whitewash technique. I used brilliance moonlight white & distress ink as I don't have SU ink but it seemed to work just fine.

Impress Valentine's
Yesterday was Impress Valentine demo day. There were 3 tables demoing different things and two make and takes. I didn't get to do any of the make and takes BUT one was using their new note cards of chalk paper and the other was white on white using one of the new dies from Memory Box.
Cindi was demoing several products one of them was this stamp & die by Impression Obsession. It's pretty cool because you can use it like I did on this card or you can just die cut the little hearts with the messages. I have the Cuttlebug embossing folder that has these candies and wanted to have something similar without cutting and even though the size on the folder is bigger than the die it would work great,

This would be one die that I need to play more as the normal sandwich left a mark around the die...if you want the lose hearts it doesn't matter but if you want the negative like on this card at least to me it matters :0)
Annette was demoing elegant cards using embossing folders and dies white on white.
This card was using one of the new Memory Box dies. Just love it. Since their technique was to work white on white I decided to make mine also white on white. They were using lovely ribbons but I can't seem to find them on Jo-Ann Fabrics or Michaels and I forgot when I went back today to check if they had them at the store anyway here is the card
this view below shows a little more that all the tiny butterflies are 3D and attached to the paper. Guess if you wanted only the butterflies you clip them off as just the body is attached but then you will have to glue them down so might as well just leave them as they are and color individually
The other demos was with Lisa and was inches and twinches using I believe Hero Arts paint.Even though it has a dauber to apply it's a bit messy thing FOR ME so would not be something I'll be using any time soon :0) what I did like was that now they have a "frame" for the inches and you can either use the cut outs as a layer on your inches or use the frame to mount the inches

Stampin' Up Club
Today was club, the meeting is once a month and we do 3-4 projects. All supplies we are SU...except for me LOL today I switch glitter for my glitter pen and one card I modified it as I don't like the results of plain embossing the base card...I like a nice finish on back
This one is the one I mounted on another paper...none SU
This one is the one I mounted on another paper...none SU
this one is the one I used the stardust glitter pen instead of the power glitter on the flower.
and these are the other 2 projects

Acordion fold
I made this card for my dear friend Lillian and she has let me know she got it so I can post it now. The idea was from a Russian blog and they called it Poluakkordeon card
fold my guess it means accordion but Google didn't translate so just a guess :0) anyway it was fun making it. She likes pink so of course I had to make it in pink. The Tilda was colored with Copic Markers. This is the view flat
This would be sort of the side view
And this is the inside view

Shoebox Thursday
This week's shoe-box project was a pretty card that could be use for anything I was going to do it Thinking of You but the message I used was out so felt it work just the same. Everything except the glitter pen (that you can't see outlining the butterfly) is SU

Calendar card
Finally got to play with another of the Sunday technique challenges. This one is a calendar card. The idea was from Lisa Johnson
http://poppypaperie.typepad.com/poppy_paperie/2011/10/calendar-basics-revisited-1.html
Since I didn't have the tri fold card I used a 12" x 3.5". On the first one I score at 5", 10", 10-3/4, 11-1/2" and glued the left over 1/2" to the back of card making a triangle. I wanted to use this stamp set as I'm trying to use unused sets or stamps. It was a bit disappointing that the stamp and folder DO NOT match. You would think if they're making a stamp set to go with the embossing folder it would match so you can stamp on top of the embossing
I think it gives a bit more base the second option even though the base is 1.5" in both

11-3/4”. Glued the two 1/4" back to back. Image is digital and was colored with Copic Markers and Spectrum Noir
I think it gives a bit more base the second option even though the base is 1.5" in both

Purple heart & tulip frame
Sometime ago I saw somewhere a tutorial to use the SU tulip frame as a square frame instead of a rectangle so finally I got to try it and it was as easy as they said it would and love it. This is the card I did with it

Double pocket card
One of the Sunday tip or technique we got a pocket card. Instructions were in centimeters as it was done on an Italian blog so I translated them into inches.
