Create & Connect 3

I joined the Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect online event in May. It was a two day event with 3 classes on Saturday and 2 classes on Sunday plus a demo. Each class included 2 cards except for the watercolor class that was just the technique. Also, there was a make & take on each class.

I decided to watch the classes and then work on my cards so at the end I did my own thing but trying to follow the class idea. In some I did change a bit others a lot but guess that's where our creativity comes in place. I didn't follow their colors because well I didn't use their inks so I did what I was feeling at the moment. For 4 classes I used Altenew crisp dye inks and the one that was supposed to be watercolor since I don't do watercolor I used distress oxide inks

The third class was with Heather Hoffman with butterfly garden bundle. This bundle included stamp set, layered stencils which you needed otherwise the whole was not showing completely and dies.

For the first card started by embossing with coordinating hot foil plate geo arch on a layer of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock then cut it about 4x5-1/4” and mounted to an A2 card base of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock then die cut a layer of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A then centered the essentials ornate circle and die cut just the inside die which does not cut the piece out and glue to the rest but just the outside making sure the center didn't have adhesive so I could arrange the flowers as if they were coming out from there. Two of the butterflies are flat and one, the big one has 4 layers and finally some clear iridescent drops

Once again, these layered stencils don’t do the whole thing so you need the stamp to finish the flowers and the butterflies. I did the stenciling first and stamped after with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and then die cut.

Used Altenew crisp dye ink Butterflies: rock gray collection pure graphite, green fields collection jet black, red cosmos collection ruby red, red sunset collection velvet; Leaves: sea shore collection volcano lake, lagoon; Flowers: enchanted garden collection hydrangea, ultraviolet

Create & Connect 2 make & take

I joined the Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect online event in May. It was a two day event with 3 classes on Saturday and 2 classes on Sunday plus a demo. Each class included 2 cards except for the watercolor class that was just the technique. Also, there was a make & take on each class.

For 4 classes I used Altenew crisp dye inks and the one that was supposed to be watercolor since I don't do watercolor I used distress oxide inks

The second class was with Channin Pelletier with the peony fantasy bundle with included stamp set, layered stencils and coordinating dies. The make & take was done by someone other than who did the class.

For my make & take card, started by embossing with coordinating hot foil plate geo arch a layer of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock then I die cut the coordination cuts gazebo a couple times. I didn't like just the gazebo felt too busy so decided to do inlaid technique then arranged all the flowers and because of the colors I used I added metallic gold jewels by Petty Pink Posh, the message is from glimmer hot foil plate Yana’s sentiments by Spellbinders

For the flowers I stamped the image with classic stampin pad Sahara sand as I hadn’t decided if I was going for no line coloring or was going to stamp with black ink but went for no line coloring after using layered stencils and Altenew crisp dye inks Leaves: nature's wonders collection misty moor, green fields collection frayed leaf & forest glades; Flower 1: nature's wonders collection misty moor, warm and cozy collection Sunkissed, orange cream & autumn blaze; Flower 2: summer afternoon collection buttercream, warm sunshine & caramel toffee

Finally die cut them with coordinating die

The second class was with Channin Pelletier with the peony fantasy bundle with included stamp set, layered stencils and coordinating dies

For the second card, started by die cutting essentials mini slimline frames 3 times and gluing them together for dimension. Because I didn’t like how it was on the first class with Lea when you emboss the inner part and I didn't want a whole panel, I cut a layer embossed it with coordinating hot foil plate geo arch and then cut it to the size of the large frame and used corner concave punch by EK Success to match the frame then added some Altenew crisp dye ink shades of purple collection lavender fields on two of the opposite corners but didn't realized that my flowers cover more area LOL. Then mounted the frames and then mounted all to a mini slimline that was 3-1/8” x 6-1/8” of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock, added the flowers and iridescent clear drops. For the message I used glimmer hot foil plate everyday sentiments II by Spellbinders die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers B

For the flowers I stamped the image with classic stampin pad Sahara sand as I hadn’t decided if I was going for no line coloring or was going to stamp in black as the class said but went for no line coloring as it's what I prefer after using layered stencils and Altenew crisp dye inks Leaves: nature's wonders collection misty moor, sea shore collection volcano lake & lagoon; Flowers: nature's wonders collection misty moor, enchanted garden collection hydrangea, ultraviolet & andromeda

Finally die cut them with coordinating die plus some extras in white card stock for dimension and finally some iridescent clear drops

For 4 classes I used Altenew crisp dye inks and the one that was supposed to be watercolor since I don't do watercolor I used distress oxide inks

The second class was with Channin Pelletier with the peony fantasy bundle with included stamp set, layered stencils and coordinating dies

For the first card, started by die cutting essentials ornate circle 3 times and gluing them together for dimension and then cut them in half added. The original card was to add the full circles like an 8 but since we were adding the flowers on the top we were covering most of the top circle so to me there was no need for that so cutting it in half I was getting pretty much the same look. Also, I’m not good with splatter so brought a cover plate that only does stitching by Concord & 9th quilted card front die and added my ornate circles on bottom and the flowers on top making sure the edge of the circle were covered with flowers as well as on the bottom so no one will know it wasn’t a full circle, added iridescent clear drops

For the flowers I stamped the image with classic stampin pad Sahara sand as I hadn’t decided if I was going for no line coloring after the layered stencils or was going to stamp with black after I was done as the class said but went for no line coloring as it's what I prefer. Used Altenew crisp dye inks Leaves: nature's wonders collection misty moor, tropical forest collection parrot & olive; Flower 1: nature's wonders collection misty moor, red cosmos collection coral berry, ruby red & grapevine; Flower 2: nature's wonders collection misty moor, cherry blossom collection pinkalicious, rubellite & razzleberry

Finally die cut them with coordinating die plus some extras in white card stock for dimension. Once again decided no to add message so I can either add one when I need it or leave as note card

Create & Connect 1 make & take

I joined the Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect online event in May. It was a two day event with 3 classes on Saturday and 2 classes on Sunday plus a demo. Each class included 2 cards except for the watercolor class that was just the technique. Also, there was a make & take on each class.

For 4 classes I used Altenew crisp dye inks and the one that was supposed to be watercolor since I don't do watercolor I used distress oxide inks

The first class was with Lea Lawson and it was with the whimsical blooms bundle. This bundle includes slimline stamp set, dies, layered stencils and washi tape. The make & take was done by a different person than who gave the class. I use the same supplies but different.

Since I had made bunch of pieces of the washi tape which was attach the washi tape on white card stock and then die cut them with the coordinating die I had enough choices to pick for my card. I decided to used the big one and cut it in half. Then I took a layer of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock and embossed it with coordinating hot foil plate geo arch then colored with blending brush opposite corners with Altenew dye ink shades of purple collection soft lilac, should have added a darker ink guess I need to buy a refill for this pad 😊 mounted to an A2 card base of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock then attached the washi tape pieces to opposite sides the one on the right felt like it was flying so needed to find how to anchor it so used the foiled die cut sentiments 3 for that and finally iridescent clear drops

Create & Connect 1

The first class was with Lea Lawson and it was with the whimsical blooms bundle. This bundle includes slimline stamp set, dies, layered stencils and washi tape.

For the second card started by die cutting essentials ornate circle 3 times and gluing them together for dimension and then cut them in half added some Altenew crisp dye ink shades of purple collection lavender fields to the edge just a light touch.

I didn’t care for the small frame on the card so I used the slim stencils double chevron with Altenew crisp dye ink shades of purple collection lavender fields on the A2 card base of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock just to give a little something.

On a layer of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white card stock, I stamped my image with Memento London fog ink then used the layered stencils and we were supposed to stamp with black ink after wards. I wanted no line look but this image is one of those that if you don't stamp the image you lose part of the image so after I was done with my coloring I just stamp with green the greenery. All inks for the layered stencils are with Altenew crisp dye inks leaves: green meadows collection sweet leaf, just green, hunter green; flower 1: cherry blossom collection pink diamond, pinkalicious; flower 2: shades of purple collection lavender fields, deep iris, (midnight violet) flower 3: pocketful of sunshine collection fresh lemon, maple yellow. Then die cut it with coordinating die.

Then I arranged the flowers with the ornate circle and added iridescent clear drops. Decided not to add message so I can either add message when I need it or just use it as a note card

The first class was with Lea Lawson and it was with the whimsical blooms bundle. This bundle includes slimline stamp set, dies, layered stencils and washi tape.

For the first card started by die cutting essentials mini slimline frame 4 times and gluing them together for dimension. The inner part of one of them was used to emboss the coordinating hot foil plate geo arch. I changed the size of my mini slimline size card to 3-1/8” x 6-1/8” of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock since I used check envelopes. Glued the frame then the embossed piece and that's when I realized there was a gap and I know it's probably my OCD as Lea or anyone that were working during the class mention anything about it. It was too late since I had already glued my frame so to fix this issue I arranged my flowers to cover that. For this card the flowers are the coordinating washi tape taped on card stock and then die cut with the coordinating die. Also, added iridescent clear drops and foiled die cut sentiments 3

Happy birthday

Today is Bret's birthday and I always want to try a new fold for his card so of course when I saw Sam’s tutorial at Mixed Up Craft for book cradle card of course had to tried it. She has two tutorials one for 6x6 and one for 5x7 with acetate. I made mine 5.5 x 6 because didn’t have to worry about mailing but if you make the cradle a bit smaller as well as the main piece then it would fit in a regular A2 or A6 envelope but I wanted to use these die cuts left over from his father's day card so this size worked best. I made one side acetate the other cardstock.

For the first time he's getting the same theme for both cards LOL As I mention on the other card, I started by using a piece of Bristol smooth surface 100 lb. and songbirds on branches coordinating hot foil plate by Pinkfresh Studio then using the layered stencils and blending brushes colored the images with Tim Holtz distress oxide inks. Bird 1: specked egg, fossilized amber, wild honey; Bird 2: ripe persimmon, tea dye, wild honey; Leaves: bundles sage, crushed olive; Flowers: wilted violet, dusty concord. Used the coordinating cut die to cut the image plus 4 more layers in everything but the orange bird die cut. For the message used Glimmer hot foil plate everyday sentiments II by Spellbinders die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers B. The card base was done with Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock  on the inside I used broken china all over then again with DIY cloud template. For the center piece, I sponged with mowed lawn and rustic wilderness.

For the back because I don’t like the personal message to show on this type of cards so added a folded note card and used tiny magnets to keep it closed and decided to decorate the back with some of the same die cuts.

Happy Father's Day

Hope you all father's out there have a wonderful day. This is the card I made for Bret.

When I saw Sam’s tutorial for faux step card at Mixed Up Craft of course had to tried it as I enjoyed making step cards. I made mine 4.25 x 5.5 but it’s too bulky so does need extra postage. I changed my card not only on size from Sam’s tutorial but on the bottom, I decided to add the same stopper on the two steps as they didn’t stay put. Also, I did cover the whole panel not just the "step" I did cut the "steps" but decided not to bother since it didn't matter 😊Bret wasn't going to know either way

I started by using a piece of Bristol smooth surface 100 lb. and songbirds on branches coordinating hot foil plate by Pinkfresh Studio then using the layered stencils and blending brushes colored the images with Tim Holtz distress oxide inks. Bird 1: specked egg, fossilized amber, wild honey; Bird 2: ripe persimmon, tea dye, wild honey; Leaves: bundles sage, crushed olive; Flowers: wilted violet, dusty concord. Used the coordinating cut die to cut the image plus extra layers in white cardstock for dimension.

For the card case used Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock for the layers Recollections 110 lb. black cardstock and Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock I ran with wood slats embossing folder by CTMH then I mounted the die cuts

For the front message used Glimmer hot foil plate everyday sentiments II by Spellbinders die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers B.

For the back because I don’t like the personal message to show on this type of cards, I added a folded note card and used tiny magnets to keep it closed and decided to decorate the back with some of the same die cuts. Sentiment is Happy Father’s Day stamp by My Sentiments Exactly! With Tim Holtz distress ink brushed corduroy

Father's Day

Unlike mother's day, I'm still lucky to have my dad to send a card to and also made an extra for our youngest. Used the supplies from paper pumpkin March 2022 Beyond the horizon to make the cards

Started by cutting the printed card base in half then die cut it with double stitched rectangle die by Kat Scrappiness then mounted it to a layer die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A of Park Lane 110 lb. smooth black solid core cardstock then mounted to an A2 card base of Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock. Added the printed die cut element, die cut label and self-adhesive embellishments from kit. I used dragonfly stamp by Hero Arts with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and the message is from deseos pequeñitos stamp set by SU same ink

For the English version used the message from paper pumpkin April 2020 my wonderful family same ink as before
