Shoebox Thursday by Darlene

For today's project, Darlene had for us a St Patrick's card. She use sketchy clover stamp by Outlines Rubber Stamp we stamped with VersaFine Clair nocturne I was careful coloring in with the alcohol markers Spectrum Noir and Stampin blends so they wouldn't bleed. This ink is not alcohol friendly. Work of art set by SU with daffodil delight, key lime and bamboo leaves inks. Gold pearls on the centers of each clover and also used some gold and clear Wink of Stella

For today's project I have simple card using again the butterfly gala set and matching butterfly duet punch. For this card we used for all the black VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and then we colored in with the second step stamps with velvet and coral berry inks. I only glued the body of my butterfly so they wings were "flying"

Challenge

I get my Paper Pumpkin from Rachel Tessman and once in a while she sends us a gift/challenge in the mail which since I join with her is when the kits match supplies in the catalog. This time I don't really know how the things she sent are matching with the kit this month but it was fun playing with them. If you have seen the kit it's about succulents which it has not call me to work on it but the challenge in the other hand I had fun and used pretty much every thing!

This is what Rachel sent me...a piece of lemon lime twist card stock, half of a clear box (those boxes you use to put cards in for gift) and 6 pieces of 4x4 double sided sale-a-bration botanical butterfly DSP

For my first project, I used the piece of card stock, the half box and the lemon lime twist 4x4 piece of DSP and made like a little box for something either to hold post-it notes, business cards, etc. it stands on its on so you can put anything even candy 😀 I used butterfly gala set with lemon lime twist ink and matching punch butterfly duet; the message if from this month's PP grown with kindness kit also with lemon lime twist, the You is mounted on foam and it's from hugs needed set by Pink & Main same ink

For this next project, I used the grapefruit grove piece of DSP mounted on black and then mounted on another grapefruit grove piece. Punched vellum butterflies with the butterfly duet punch for every butterfly that had a body so I glue the vellum from the body and then added black pearls to cover the glue and bend the wings, some are out of the square. All the message is this month's PP grown with kindness kit with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

For this project, is pretty much the same as above but using the little butterflies. I didn't know which color was the yellows on the DSP so looking in my SU papers picked one of the darker yellows and that's what I used as my layer, which I cut in 3 one to frame the 4x4 piece and the other two one for top and one for bottom each of them went all the way. Also added black pearls to the butterflies to cover the glue on vellum and again added the vellum butterfly to all the ones that had body even if they were hanging outside the square. The message is this month's PP grown with kindness kit with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and the You is from thanks set by Honey Bee Stamps same ink

For this project, I did the strip fold card and added a butterfly from the butterfly gala set with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and matching punch butterfly duet and black pearls as body

And last but not least, the last project, because the punch didn't match any of the butterfly and I'm too lazy to fuzzy cut I just cover each and every one of the butterflies with glossy accents unfortunately you can't see it on the photo. On the two outside panels I added clear droplets by PPP. When I got these droplets wasn't sure about them but actually they're cool on flowers it's like water drops 😊 again because they're clear you can hardly see them, sorry about that

I love challenges, sometimes it may take me a little longer to work on them but I think because this one had butterflies it was just calling my name LOL

Winter wishes

A couple weeks ago we were hit by two snow storms one after the other, not as bad as in some areas around the country but for us that we don't get snow on regular basis was bad enough. So we got to see lots of snowmen around.

This card was done using Krazy Kreations card kit. The kit comes with everything to make the card except adhesive and Copic Markers. You have to put the peel-off sticker on the glitter paper and then fuzzy cut. At the beginning these kits you have to make the glitter paper but then the paper was made for us which was great as for someone like me that hates glitter didn't have to get glitter everywhere LOL

Hello inlay

I had to rest my knee and it's hard to do sometimes so I decided to keep my hands busy while doing so to make it easy 😊. I cut a bunch of the glass effect die by Spellbinder, some in white and some in mixed of yellow tones and then I started playing around mix and matching the pieces like puzzles. It was a bit of a tedious job but when you have to be off your knee was the perfect thing to do as it sure was keeping me busy for a long time. The hello is a die by Poppy Stamps and the other message is from congrats stamp & cut by HA with tuxedo black ink punched out with classic label by SU

These were the end results, all the white frame with yellow pieces were the same so just adding a photo of the different yellow tones. The cards were donated to Gray Matters Foundation

Hola

I made these cards using the nested dies. I like this technique that I learned a while back from Jennifer McGuire can't remember what she called it though, because I get to use dies I have not used in a long time and use all the dies in the set. I went through my scrap drawer to pick a piece of different color of pink for each die piece and then I mix the layers I got to make 7 cards with the dies themselves plus one. The dies are wonky squares by Spellbinders, the words is from a set by Elizabeth Crafts hola gracias dies and I cut several of them gluing them together to give dimension and the dots are enamel accents black by Ranger

I did have a few little extra pieces so cut some of the smaller dies to make this one

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I made another simple card. Remember that when we did this card we kept the white heart and red pieces? well this is the card I made with those pieces. Very clean and simple and no stamping card! Love clean and simple cards. The background was done with lips kissing embossing essential folder by Darice

Under the weather kit

I made this card with Krazy Kreations' glitter kit and Copic markers one of those kits that you put peel-off stickers on glitter paper and then color with Copic markers then fuzzy cut around them and put together the card with the pieces that came in the kit. Kit has everything except adhesive and markers but otherwise it has cardbase, envelope, embellishments, and coordinating papers and tags or messages

Happy Birthday blocks

A while back I saw a video I think it was by May May but not sure. Anyway she made a card using scraps of papers and I had done some cards and had some left over pieces of about 1/2" of pink and brown and remember that video so decided to saved them as I love the combo of pink and brown so when I had nothing to do I started playing with all the pieces which seemed to be a lot so this is what I ended up with

I used happy statement by The Stamps of Life added glossy accents on top for the stamping used gathered twigs ink

for this stamping I used happy stamp & cut set by HA same ink

Light house

This card was one of those card I made with left over and unfinished pieces. I have a box where I toss pieces I do that I like was playing around but then didn't want to mess with doing a card or images I was just coloring for a later time to make cards and another box for left over die cuts that I think I could use for another project well the ray of sunshine by Taylored Expression were one of them I used the outline for an Easter card and didn't want to toss the negative part so this is one of the cards I used them for. The light house was one of those images I was trying a set a friend of mine bought and was kind of cool, it was a new company for us Kitchen Sink Stamps, it's a multiple layers set. Because I was playing around not totally sure of the colors I used but I think it was tuxedo black, London fog, gray flannel, Sahara sand and toffee crunch

The heart was a left over from another card and was done from a stitched hearts by Gina Marie Designs, the enamel dots are from Recollections, the messages is from one without names with fired brick ink,

for the hearts were die cuts and then cover with glossy accents. This is one side

Shoebox Thursday by Kathy

Happy Valentine's Day! It was nice to get out of the house after being house bound from the snow since last week. Yes we don't get a lot of snow in our area so when we do our lives get disrupted. Over the weekend I had Bret to drive me around but just for the necessary things and then we stayed home as we didn't want to be out with the unsafe drivers. While some drivers try to be careful others are just to careless!

Anyway, Kathy had a lovely Victorian card for us using a Great Impressions stamp with tuxedo black ink. We added some red rhinestones here and there and colored the flower with glaze pens. The ribbon is organza from JoAnn. The message was custom created and punched out with SU's modern label

Challenge

Back in December I got a challenge by my Paper Pumpkin demonstrator Rachel Tessman. Every so often she sends a random gift. The last challenge was when the paper pumpkin coordinated with the May Paper Pumpkin and this time the supplies she sent coordinated with the To You & Yours kit. At the time I didn't have time to work on the challenge. Anyway I finally did and obviously since we are passed Christmas I didn't want to make a holiday card so this is what I did.

These are the supplies are got...cherry cobbler base card, wood texture DSP, dashing along DSP, two punched out leaves one in garden green and one in vellum

For my card I die cut from SU's celebrate you thinlits my words, glued both leaves behind the You and then added some white perfect accents

Shoebox Thursday

For today's project I made a card that could be use for Valentine's but I made if for Anniversary. I used Rachel Tessman's strip fold fun fold card.

We used The Stamp of Life's jar2stamp stamp & die sets, we stamped with VersaFine Clair nocturne because it's not Copic friendly I stamped the bees a couple weeks ago when I created this project hoping it would help with the bleeding when coloring but if we weren't careful it still bled, mainly the yellow, you didn't notice on the gray if it did. We also used rhubarb stalk ink for the message and Spectrum Noir sparkle clear on the wings of the bees. The enamel dots are from Dollar Tree and the paper doily from Celebrete It
