Sympathy card

Grandma passed away at home surrounded with the people she loved and equally loved and cared for her. I made this card for our dear friends, her daughter and son-in-law.

I used high tide set by SU with hickory smoke, black soot, London fog & tuxedo black inks; for the message I used Endless Creation stamp sympathy heartfelt with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink; my layers were cut with The Stamp of Life stitched rectangles dies

Shoebox Thursday by Kathy

For today's shoebox project, Kathy had this lovely hello card using the jar of love set by SU. We used smoky slate, brilliant blue, bashful blue, gumball green and lemon lime twist inks; the lid was stamped for us so don't know what color of ink she used and she used the matching die everyday jars to die cut it and gold thread from her stash

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I made a simple black & white card with a tint of another color as I needed to make a card with a brad or eyelet so checking in my stash the easiest thing to use was a brad and this my take to the mingle I had to make.

I stamped off twice the starry flowers with London fog ink as the first time was too light but straight ink was too dark so I stamped off twice so it was light enough to show but not too dark then I stamped on my top layer with VersaFine Clair nocturne, cut my panel and mounted on black cardstock and mounted on foam. The message which is from W Plus 9 was also stamped with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

Fashion

In one of my Yahoo groups we had a mingle aka swap that was fashion. We could do anything so I decided to use my peel-off stickers, it wasn't my type of mingle to participate but there wasn't enough players so I wanted to help out 😊 I did like a display kind of thing so it was a shadow box with acetate. My put the peel-off sticker which was by Elizabeth Craft on top of glitter paper and colored with Copic markers, I cut my pieces with The Stamps of Life stitched rectangles

23rd Anniversary

Today is our anniversary and since we met in Acapulco I seem to like doing beachy cards and since our hobby is hiking to waterfalls or lighthouses seems like it go with the same sort of theme 😊 I had done this mingle and I still had the set out plus the new stamp of the month arrived which came with the mini set so just worked perfect. I stamped the message with ground espresso first, which is made out of 3 sets milestones moments and number of years both by SU and class of by CTMH, so I knew how where to stamped the darkest images of my background although it was going everywhere then found these stickers by Jolee's by You that thought were cute, his and her sunglasses plus shells, they're a little bulky for mailing but since it was for Bret, not a problem!! The set is the stamp of the month from The Stamps of Life last month. I use a different ink for each shell tip top taupe, almost amethyst, milled lavender, mellow moss and Sahara sand

Paper Pumpkin

Another card I made with the September 2017 layered leaves kit for my donation box, these went to Gray Matters Foundation.

I used the set from the kit with crumb cake and cajun craze, also close to heart set by Birch Press Design with crumb cake; the gold thread is left over from previous paper pumpkin kits

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project I had a very simple card using dandelion wishes set by SU. I picked this marble paper I bought at JoAnn's loved it is like shaving cream but without the mess or smell, package comes in 5 colors. I scanned the sheet and came very yellowish but it's orange, I cut it in 1/4 then using Stamps of Life stitched rectangle die and Kat Scrappines double stitched rectangle die to do my layers the center layer was popped with foam, the stamping was done with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I like this ink as long as there is no coloring as it's very black, it does take a minute to dry but otherwise it's ok

I put a hello from a Poppy Stamps set on my card but didn't really gave them that option to them so they can add whatever message they need when they want to use the card as it can be use for anything

Happy Summer

In one of my Yahoo groups we had a mingle aka swap that was your season which right now for us is summer, my favorite season!! and actually we have been enjoying it. I know I'm probably one of the few people that actually enjoys having over 90 degree weather.

I got to play with the stamp of the month by The Stamps of Life. Most of the time it takes me months or years before I use the set and most of the time I only use the messages but this time messages were not as important as the stamps 😊 and went very well with a new die, well not really new just hadn't used it either. I used antique linen and miller lavender to stamp the shells, the message is by A Muse and used ground espresso ink

Get well

My dear friend had eye surgery today so I made her this card to wish her good luck and speedy recovery. Because we've been enjoying summer, me more than her it had to be a summer card 😊 and I was going to do a full sunglasses but decided to just put the bandage on the left eye. The glasses is from hot weather QuicKutz die and the message is a Lockhart stamp with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink.

In one of my Yahoo groups the TT was using things not part of the craftroom...normally so this card has two things the telfa-pad by Curad and the red part of the sunglasses was cut out of one of those school binder dividers

Shoebox Monday

For today's project I had a simple fun fold card. I had to work on a card using big words or those big verses as the main focal point for a mingle aka swap so decided to also use it as my shoebox project since it was simple enough project.

Other than the main image which was done with a W plus 9 sending hoping wishing set and adding glossy accents to the big words, it was just background papers and cardstock so pretty simple fold...ah and some enamel dots from my stash

Paper Pumpkin

This is another card I made with layered leaves September 2017 kit. These cards went to Send smiles to Seniors.

I used the set from the kit with cajun craze ink, also rainy days set by PPP with same ink, and a foil snowflake from SU

Paper Pumpkin

This is another card I made with the layered leaves September 2017 kit that also went into my donation box to Gray Matters Foundation.

I embossed my based with a QuicKutz leaves folder then glued one of the leftover pieces of papers just big enough to cover the notecard that came in the kit that was embossed and added one of the leaves. Pretty clean and simple. The thank you is from the set curious friends by W Plus 9 with brushed corduroy

Shoebox Thursday

For today's project I did a quick hardly any stamping fun fold card after I saw a card by Vickie Littlewood. I altered the measurements but next time I would just do a wider card and maybe shorter?? as this card does not fit an A2 envelope, as the card is 6" I don't care much but for my donation box does matter. I used paisley framelits by SU, hello stamp by My Sentiments Exactly with rhubarb stalk ink

Radiant day

Quick black and white card inspired by something I saw at scrappin and stampin in GJ, I used scalloped scallop edger punch by EK, square punch, paper flowers from CTMH, brads from stash, message stamp by My Heart Stamps for You with tuxedo black

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project I decided to do an old technique I hadn't done in a while I think but different. Back when we did it, spot light technique, we used to pick an image and then choose part of the image to highlight punched or die cut that area mounted on black or any other color of cardstock and then colored only that part and mounted on foam. Well this time the whole image was stamped in black, I decided to try my new VersaFine Clair ink by Tsukineko at first impression was great love the color then I die cut my layer with Kat Scrappiness double stitched rectangles and then did my spotlight which was picking a flower to color with alcohol markers well that's when I got disappointed with the ink! when I used red and purple all seemed ok but when I used the lighter colors yellow, orange and pink it bled so either it has to dry over night or something but it sure wasn't very Copic compatible otherwise love how bright it is, it didn't stain stamp but it was smelly

Sunday Tip or Technique

This was one of our TTs in one of my Yahoo groups which I also use for one of my mingle aka swap cards. For the mingle we had to use ribbon knots so this card was perfect for it.

I decided to change the card as on the top version the base was delightful dijon or hello honey but since normally I try to think ahead if I might put the card in my stash or donation box and if it goes in my donation box I rather have a white base so they can write their message without me adding an insert I put a layer with a 1/16" border so pretty much it had the same look but with and extra layer. I could have just glued a full piece of delightful dijon or hello honey covering the white base so there was no border but I rather have the little border. The set I used was heartfelt blooms and the message is one of those unknown stamps

Tri-fold card

This is a card fold by Viv Oswald she belongs to a couple of my Yahoo groups. I made it monochromatic just because I found a background paper that matched my cardstock. The big butterfly is from decorative butterfly border by Spellbinders, monarch butterfly border edge punch by Martha Stewart, the pearls were colored with Copic markers

Flourishing notecards

For these simple cards I used both the flourish thinlits dies and flourishing frases set with tuxedo black ink. The idea was from Cindy Brumbaugh in Pinterest

Stacking dies

One day one of my friend was telling me if I had seen the cards using different dies stacked together to make a card I didn't understand what she meant but that night as I was going through my emails I saw a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire using stackables dies so of course I had to try to see how easy it would be. I made sticker paper as I hate wet glue and after that everything was pretty easy 😊

Because you have to cut one paper per die you get to make lots of card depending on how you arranged the die cuts, I was able to do 6 the way I arranged mine. I used small pinking circles by Spellbinders, dimensional stickers by Sticko, the hello is a die by Poppy Stamps cover with glossy accents, the thinking of you is a die by Spellbinders also cover with glossy accents, and the thanks is a die by Taylored Expressions cover with glossy accents

Wedding card

For this simple but elegant card, I first cut my edges with adorning accents edgelits die by SU on both sides then embossed with swiss dots folder by Cuttlebug. I glued my striped paper then I die cut my "suit" heart which was from a Spellbinders classic heart dies, added some pearls as buttons and Offray ribbon as bow tie, for the bride I die cut my heart from the same die set then I ran it through one of my summer set folders by Cuttlebug and then added some pearls

Partial cutting

I made this card after watching a tutorial by Jennifer Mcguire where she partially cut a die and put a message in that area so I looked through all my dies to see if I had any big dies that could work and didn't really had any but this one by SU sort of worked. The hello is a Spellbinders die. Wasn't as easy as Jennifer made it seem but had fun working on it anyway 😊

Happy Birthday

For these notecards, was also very quick just added the banner stamped the message and added the flower and pearl. The message is from CTHM with ground espresso ink, the notecards I got at Marshalls, the flower is from Recollections and pearls from stash. Card doesn't show much but every green line is glittery

Thinking of you

One more bought card packet I got at Make and Impressions that I finished up for the seniors. These cards were by Studio G, again square cards. My layers were cut with the stitched squares by MFT, the stamping was done with aged mahogany ink and happy to be friends Spanish set by CTMH

Sunday, August 5, 2018

Hola

These were also quick cards that went into my donation box for seniors, the cards were store bought so just minimum decoration I had to do. I bought these cards many years ago when Make an Impressions was still in business, they are square embossed card by Lasting Impressions so decided to die cut a stitched square by The Stamps of Life that fit in the center of it and stamped a message that fit right in it perfectly by SU with ground espresso ink, the cards came with the cute yellow stripes/polka dots envelopes. Not sure why they sell so many square cards when it cost extra in the US to mail those cards anyway they do have plenty of room to write message

Thinking of you

These were quick cards using bought cards just altering them. I made some cards like this, adding the tab that was a SU punch, message from a set by CTMH with cracked pistachio ink

the other cards I made like this as they were just scraps. The notecards were from Michaels and they were 6x6 so when I cut them down to a size just smaller than A2, the extra pieces were used to make the cards below. The pear is a stamp by RubberNecker and stamped with tuxedo black and the message is from Gina K's vertical messages & things set also with tuxedo black ink
