Butterfly anniversary

I had forgotten that this year was a leap year which meant today is my brother's Santo :0)

This card was inspired by Lisa Johansen. Used embosslit die by SU, gorgeous grunge stamp set also by SU, messages are by Stamp A Mania, my background is a stamp by Rubbernecker

Snowheart

Made this card with the ombre technique. Photo doesn't show but the paper I used for the snowflakes has a shimmer look in person. I use two dies by Memory Box one for the frame and the other the snowflakes. Created the ombre with Memento ink and sponges

Winter thanks

Since I love making winter cards I decided to make some thank you cards with snowflakes :0) yes probably if we got snow all the time I probably wouldn't enjoy thinking of winter :0) I borrowed this background stamp by Peddler's pack applied the ink directly to stamp. The snowflake is a die by Spellbinders and the thank you is by Savvy Stamps

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project was my turn so decided to keep the St Patrick's theme. This card was inspired by a card from Elaine's Creations

The main image is an old SU stamp the border is sheltering tree, the 3 leaf clover is a punch by EK Success, jewels from my stash

Snow border

I bought this die by Memory Box when it first came out many years ago and finally got to use it. I couldn't find the card that made me buy it. It was from one of the local stamp stores at the Scrapbook Expo. Even though I got this die to make that card I didn't, maybe I will try to do it but right now it's just not my cup of tea :0)

I used glitter paper for the border and was a pain to remove all the little things!! yes no wax paper or dryer sheet worked my guess it was the thickness of the paper which also had to run a few times!! I used snowflake soiree by SU, medium snow flake by Endless Creations, Ink splatter by CTMH and memento ink & distress ink

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I wanted to try the pleated skirt fold technique. Like a lot of card makers I check or get newsletter from Split Coast Stampers, some do work on the tutorials others just like to look. I decided to do their weekly tutorial from a couple weeks ago, actually I started about that time but just finished my cards. Was having a bit of a problem on the embellishment but think this worked, at least I like it :0)

It's recommended double sided paper only because you can see the back on the pleats but you don't have to if you don't mind having plain white on the folds. My paper is cardstock weight I got at Ben Franklin craft store it has some glitter/emboss on one side which love as it doesn't get everywhere :0)

I decided to change a bit my folds...I cut my paper 3" by 12" since my paper was double sided I use both sides from that piece. For my samples I used both sides for top and bottom so they could decide what they liked more. I like best the message on top and pattern on bottom.

I cut a piece 3" x 4" for my top, the rest of the paper was used for the skirt fold; my long piece was scored at 3", 3-1/2", 4-1/2" and 5" it was more even of course if this is what you like other wise you could use the dimensions that Split Coast had which were 3", 3-1/2", 5" and 6-1/8". Also I cut my diagonal line at the 1-1/2" to the 3" score line. After having my piece scored and folded I glued to my layer piece and then cut excess just to make it easy...for me, that is :0)

My embellishments were a sticker from JoAnn's and the 3 leaf clover punch by EK Success with a rhinestone

Fixing

On Saturday's workshop I had done most of my last card when I stamped the strings of the balloons and had a shadow image, don't know if I rocked the stamp or didn't clean well or both, it had too much rubber and it was a very thin image so had to redo the whole piece because I couldn't remove washi tape without getting paper on the washi tape itself and well other than that boo boo all was good so didn't want to waste the piece, this was my fix. The washi tape and message are SU and the 3D flower is a sticker by K & Company

It's a party

Yesterday I attended a SU workshop it was 4 cards and a box...I didn't do the box just the cards :0)

All supplies are SU

The first card is a shaker card using the party wishes stamp set & matching punches

The second card is using the skirt or pleaded fold that seems to be very popular right now in part I think is because Split Coast Stampers had it as the project
For this one we used grateful bunch stamp set and matching punch

This one use the message from Sky is the limit love the enamel dots

and for this one we were back to party wishes and matching punch as well as washi tape

Tissue anniversary

This is the other card I made using the tissue paper. Again I stamped directly on the tissue. The flowers are from a SU set and the message is Stampendous

Tissue paper

I have been saving my tissue paper maybe like most as we might need it for something :0) On cards normally I just use the white but decided to try colored tissue

This is the first card I did. The big snowflakes are by Stampendous and the little snowflakes are a recollection from several little sets I have. I stamped directly on the tissue paper and it sort of bleeds a little but not enough to bother me :0)

Can you tell I have fun with this technique. This card was done with Memento inks and Taylored Expressions die

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I decided to do a St Patrick's Day card since it's the next holiday. Hoping I can get my cards done on time :0)

Checking Pinterest saw a card by Dog Gone Delightful Stampin and since I have been wanting to do this technique figure it was just the right card. I had my pocket of green papers so picked 3 patterns for this card. She said she used the faux embossing technique which didn't make any sense as we ARE embossing anyway, I attached the clovers (dies by Memory Box...one die has 3 leaves and one 4 leaves) on my white panel then ran through machine with a Cuttlebug folder.

Because my card was regular A2 size didn't like the 3" square so I cut two squares on green 2-7/8" and two on white 2-3/4". Two of the background papers were cut 2-1/2" and then cut in 4 so I ended up with 8 squares 4 of each. Next time I would cut it 2-5/8" or bigger base, I like the smaller border. Also my base would be for A6 so the squares are not so close to edge but still same size. The 3rd background paper was for the clover on center.

I glued the squares forming an 8-point star. Wendy attached individually the white to the green and then formed the star I preferred attaching the green to green and then the white to white then to each other. I mounted my star to base and then started tucking in the squares alternating the papers.

Happy Valentine's Day

In Mexico is more known as Día del amor y amistad...Love & friendship's day

One of the recent Tip or Technique Sunday was the triple heart easel card which I had been meaning to do but you know too many things on the list not enough time or we don't make enough time as obviously made it now LOL

I don't own the SU heart collection Framelits so used Spellbinders scalloped and classic heart dies. The background paper is from the Craft It Valentine pack by Recollections. I decided that my base would be a normal rectangular piece mainly because at least when I cut my papers in the Vagabond the part that is to the blade is always sort of ugly which meant I would have to cut two pieces one to glue on top of the other to cover the ugliness :0) so for that might as well just avoid one extra cutting

This is the full view

side view

This is the first front easel. Used the banner from a past paper pumpkin, message is unknown but it might be by Impress. The stopper is by Elizabeth Crafts Designs

Second and middle easel. The message is Memory Box

Third and last easel. Message is by Impress, the key was from Yvonne Albritton

It folds flat for mailing but in this case I am not mailing as it's for my Valentine :0) So added these very thick glitter embellishments by Recollections

Ombre open hearts

Did another ombre card using the paper pumpkin January 2015 filled with love set and Tim Holtz distress ink. The ribbon as well as the message are by SU. The crunching of ribbon works better with thinner more playable ribbon but didn't have one that was green :0) the banner is also from a past paper pumpkin. I have a shoebox where I toss all my left over supplies from all paper pumpkins so I can just go check for things that are ready to use just to finish up a card or something :0)

Heart canopy

I bought these dies by Memory Box when they first came out...I believe the heart canopy came out about a year later after the tree which had 2 other dies that went with it anyway, finally got to use it. Amazing how many things we buy to do something and just gets put away forever before using

Used the ombre technique again and since purple is one of my favorite colors I made it purple besides had a lot of scraps :0) The message is A Muse Artstamps and the tiny hearts are by them also

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project Kathy had a Valentine's card. Love the vellum she used it was colored and embossed that she got at JoAnn Fabrics the stamp set is by SU that has a matching punch BUT the frame heart do not fit on the punch, my guess they made it that way for a shaker card or window card although the way the punch is there is no way it would fit in the middle of the card. The ribbon is Offray, the rhinestones and pearl were from Ben Franklin

Simple heart

This is another Valentine's card the idea came from Angie Leach and she got the idea from Alison Archive Designs. Used a Spellbinders die and the stamps are sheltering tree SU's set for the messages I use one from the set and the one in Spanish is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Instead of adding ribbon on the bottom I just stamped the "grass" with Sahara Sand ink

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project I used napkins I have gotten at Dollar Tree. When I saw them they called my name LOL maybe because of the butterfly. They're pretty long and cut them so they would fit on an A7 envelope. I cut two of the smaller butterflies to mount on top of the flat big butterfly and added some black pearls on the body. The message is by VIP

This is the napkin opened

and this is the card

love birds

This is a quick card the idea came from Pinterest. The embossing folder is Darice, the heart is Martha Stewart, message is Heartfelt Creations and the birds are SU's bird builder punch. They were stamped with two SU sets, on the left was Fresh vintage and on the right was language of friendship

Super Bowl

Today is super bowl day, day to find something to do so I don't have to worry about TV. Unfortunately Bret's team didn't make the cut but still made him a card that also use for my mingle that was with sports theme

I saw several cards using football ball...I cut mine with Brother Scan N Cut, embossed with Cuttlebug tiny bubbles, wasn't sure how to do the stripes as some cards had a full piece and others cut in the middle so did both and let Bret decide...he said they both work fine. The lace was done with white baker's twine also left over from a paper pumpkin. Used one of my cloud templates and VersaMagic ink to add just a little something on the white, the grass if from a G-Rated stamp set and the message not sure who makes it but is a local place, got it at Impress

Paper Pumpkin Fill with Love

I finally finished making cards with this paper pumpkin from last January 2015, yes I'm a year behind :0) I should cancel my subscription until I get caught up but keep waiting for the last few months of indexes for my cases by Aly. She's about 3 months behind unless I'm not getting her emails again :0(

For this card which got the idea from Wendy Lee.

I used Cuttlebug folder

This one I tried doing the ombre technique on the hears

For this one I used another Cuttlebug folder

finally was able to emboss without having lines of the folder

for this one I use a Valentine's paper pack from Michaels/Recollections

Pink hearts

This is another of the cards I made for Valentine's pretty clean and simple. I used a paper pack from Michaels/Recollections that had glitter, foil  & cardstock in gold, red & pink. Used SU's heart punch

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project Darlene had two cards we could pick to make either one or both. I was just going to make one but I was showing them how my new tweezers worked great for making bows and somehow it wasn't working as it did at home not sure if it was the thin ribbon or what anyway this got me make the two cards :0)

Both cards are using all SU's supplies

Her sample has all hearts on a straight line :0)

Green love

This is one of the Valentine's cards I made. Used SU products and EK punch

Tuesday, February 2, 2016

Shoebox Tuesday

For my shoebox project today, decided to make one last Valentine's card in case they needed one more, since I am done with the ones I'm giving/making decided to make mine anniversary. The idea came from a card on Pinterest by Artfire.

I only put three sets of stripes because of the uneven number rule which for the most part I don't care for. I know even though I create cards probably wouldn't be consider an artist as I don't see the difference if I use 4 hearts instead of 3 or 5 :0) in reality do you actually count to see the items on a card or anything else to be uneven or even...one tree or 2-4 trees? 13 stars or 12? I see the card or picture how it is done not how many things it has but that's just me :0) the heart punch as well as the messages are from SU, the twine from my stash

Ombre hearts

In one of my Yahoo groups the theme for January & February is ombre technique something I enjoy either using inks or papers. Papers is simple as sometimes when I buy the paper packs from Michaels it has different tones.

On this card I used ColorMates by World Wind papers that back when we got them it had 4 tones...light, medium, dark & deep.

I cut my paper in equal sizes of each color to fill my front panel which I cut with a Spellbinders die. The ombre technique was top to bottom

For this one I used the pack form Micheals that had 5 different tones of purple, again cut the stripes to fill the front panel but this time I cut paper for the ombre left to right
