Peaceful Christmas October 2021 Paper Pumpkin

This is an alternative to my October 2021 kit. The cardstock on the kit's are always so flimsy so I normally mount on something else I know most people probably don't care as there was a time I didn't care I was used to the cardstock we found then I found the thicker cardstock and I love the heavier weight for card base and thinner for layer. Anyway for these cards I made them as a "s" fold or like you call "z" fold mounting to a card base of Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock I did cut smaller so I could mount to a layer of black cardstock to give about 1/16" border. Using scraps of white cardstock used the free silver foil that came with the Hot Foil Glimmer System and one of the dies from stitched nested labels by SU then I fussy cut them I did two one for the front and one for the inside.

I screwed up on how I glued the label so had to find messages that would fit on the vertical so on the front I used heartfelt love notes paper pumpkin January 2018 with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink for the inside message I used pocketful of cheer paper pumpkin March 2016 also with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink

In Memory

Today we would have been celebrating my brother-in-law Steve instead we are just remembering his wonderful life that was taken from us before his birthday a day he always looked forward to.

After watching the pop up bridge card video by Jennifer McGuire wanted to play with this new die by Honey Bee Stamps lovely layers cherry blossom honey cuts which was perfect for the card to make my sister a sympathy card.

For the card base used Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 120 lb. cover smooth white cardstock for background used brick wall paper from HOTP, for the cherry blossom I used only scraps of cardstock, 3 or 4 layers of brown for stability, blossoms and leave only one layer. For the message used hexi-gem sentiments hot foil plate & die set by Spellbinders with glimmer foil variety pack the polished brass total of 3 layers of the banner for stability

for the back decided to add a notecard with a closure of magnets so the flap wouldn't be flapping

Happy Father's Day

Today is the first year without my dad so a hard day for me, us, still hasn't been a good year in my family. This is the card I made to Bret very out of my box for card for him but been wanting to use this product My Hero Monthly Kit February 2023 by Hero Arts so why not, he always says some things are not for guys for anything I made is good for him and this is generic I think anyway.

For the card base used Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock, for the next layer used Core’dinations 65 lb. black cardstock die cut with infinity nested rectangle die set by HA then a layer of mustard cardstock that came in the kit die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A and white cardstock is Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth.

Die cut 3 layers of the white cardstock with die butterfly window fancy die from kit one of them used the color layering stencil set with Tim Holtz distress inks, for the butterflies seedless preserves, shaded lilac, spiced marmalade, mermaid lagoon, fired brick, crackling campfire, fossilized amber flowers Victorian velvet and leaves mowed lawn; then mounted to the other two layers and then to the mustard layer and black layer and A2 card base. Wanted a hot foil message and the only one I found was this by Spellbinders happy parents day hot foil plate & die set with copper glimmer hot foil die cut the banner 3 times so it would be the same level as the frame finally added some gold metallic pearls from Pinkfresh Studio everywhere

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to those that are mothers specially step mothers & foster mothers that have the hardest job to be there for the kids and not always loved or appreciated.

I don't make many Mother’s Day cards just for people in my inner circle and daughters-in-law. One of my favorite flowers is tulips because they come in all colors and in my state there is a place up north where if you go on the right time you can see them right when they are blooming so pretty. Anyway when Spellbinders came out with their hot foil plate & matching layered stencil was a must have set for me to get since I hate heat embossing, the wonderful tulips. I decided to use Altenew hot foil rose gold because it was one of my new foils that hadn't tried and made them in different colors using Tim Holtz distress oxide inks. For all cards the white cardstock is Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth except for the card base that is Recollections 110 lb. and used for the leaves mowed lawn,  rustic wilderness; to cover the white areas used faded jeans; since I didn’t have hot foil message that said Happy Mother’s Day used the message from the set with its die, cut an extra layer for dimension. Used the die to cut the flowers and decided to mount to a layer of clouds paper which die cut with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A and mounted to an A2 card base.

for these pink flowers used spun sugar, kitsch flamingo, picked raspberry

for the blue flowers used tumbled glass, salty ocean, blueprint sketch

for the red flowers used abandoned coral, lumberjack plaid, aged mahogany

for the yellow flowers used scattered straw, wild honey, fossilized amber but didn't see much difference with the those colors so added mustard seed on top of wild honey

for the teal flowers used salvaged patina, peacock feathers, uncharted mariner

and finally for one of my favorite colors, purple flowers used milled lavender, wilted violet, villainous potion

Expression in color Paper Pumpkin

This is one of my alternate cards to Paper Pumpkin June 2021 Expression in color.

All white cardstock is Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 100 lb. Cover Smooth white cardstock. Because the cards bases that come in the kit are flimsy I always cut in half. For this the printed part that looked like alcohol used as layer on top of my card base and the back which was fresh freesia matching color to the panel became the piece that die cut with Leaf frame cover die by Altenew then die cut 3 of white cardstock glue them all together and mounted to the card. For the message used glimmer hot foil plate sentiments II by Spellbinders with scrap of gold foil and die cut with featured sentiments die set by Altenew

Doodle Bouquet

Took a class or workshop with Pam Boedeker, Educator from Altenew and this is the card I made. Unfortunately, I didn’t have Altenew supplies for this class so used other products.

Die cut the handpicked flowers coordinating cuts by PinkFresh Studio then stamped with its stamp set with Altenew crisp permanent black ink that is alcohol markers friendly ink and with my Copic marker 100 started going around covering all the white areas then color all flowers and the stems. I should have done the coloring first and then black to me seems easier as I think colored some leaves in black instead of green LOL. I decided to use the matching layered stencils instead of coloring with markers.

Altenew crisp dye ink baby pink & fuchsia from the spring bouquet collection; wisteria & hydrangea from the enchanted garden collection; soft lilac & lavender fields from the shades of purple collection; orange cream from the warm and cozy collection; sunkissed & autumn blaze also from the warm and cozy collection; sunkissed & orange cream from the same warm and cozy collection; Fresh dye ink silver sage from the frosted foliage collection.

Then die cut a few more layers of the flower for dimension and mounted to a layer of Recollections 110 lb. black cardstock die cut with glass effects Shapeabilities by Spellbinders and mounted to an A2 card base of Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock

As always I leave my cards without message until I need them and for this I needed a birthday card so used one of my gold glimmer foil messages I have premade. It was from the glimmer plate everyday sentiments II by Spellbinders

Card Shadow Box with Vellum

I took a workshop with Laurie Patterson educator from Altenew. She called her card shadow box with vellum. The class was to make 2 cards but since I hate doing embossing only made one as I was having issues with the embossing LOL

All supplies are Altenew unless otherwise noted. All white cardstock is Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth white cardstock except card base that is Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock.

Started by stamping the image from build-a-garden: magnificent branch on vellum translucent paper with VersaMark ink and embossing with Hero Arts white embossing powder. We were supposed to color with alcohol marker but I decide to use the matching layered stencils with crisp dye inks from the four scoop collection dark chocolate, from the jewel tones collection green onyx and from the sugarplums collection all 4 colors. I colored on the front and then on the back as you can use stencils both ways. For the frame used 4 layers die cut with glass effects Shapeabilities by Spellbinders and Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A. Die cut leaves from just leaves die set which I glued all over a layer of white that was die cut with the same glass effects so everything will match perfectly and then mounted the frames except for 1 which I glued on top of the vellum and finally mounted all to an A2 card base

normally I leave cards without messages until I need them so when I needed this used a foil plate since I don’t like wet embossing. Picked mini Christmas sentiment strips hot foil plate & die set by Spellbinder for the Glimmer Hot Foil System which is what I have and used scraps of Glimmer foil opaque black from the set black & white. Didn’t use the die to cut the message just the guillotine. The message said joyful blessings to all but in all the set I had there was no sympathy plate so this one the one that would work the best for what I needed.

12th Day of Christmas

Can't believe it's the last day of Christmas! Feliz Día de Reyes for those that celebrate it. We are having family over to celebrate the holiday and cut the rosca.

For this card, card base is Recollections 110 lb. white cardstock all other white cardstock is Accent Opaque Digital International Paper 80 lb. cover smooth white cardstock. Started by grabbing a piece of white cardstock stamped a few times with wisemen ornament precut stamp set by Heartfelt Creation with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink mainly because one of the wisemen wasn't stamping well LOL magic of having a stamping platform. Then die cut it with coordinating nestabilities die Heirloom ornaments 2011 because of my OCD and the die left a white spot here and there I used a black marker to cover all the edges with it to cover the white. With a gold metallic cardstock cut just the top of the ornament and using mini scallop paper edgers by Fiskars cover the top. Die cut a few more ornaments for dimension and glue them together.
Grabbed another piece of white cardstock and using the polished brass (I think) from the Glimmer hot foil variety pack and gilded grace hot foil plate & die set by Birch Press Design did hot foil my background then die cut it with Cindy Echtinaw Designs Card Creator Perfect Layers A then mounted to an A2 panel of gold metallic cardstock and finally to my A2 card base then added my ornament which I added a gold cord I found in my past kits or something LOL. To the ornament, on the star that the wisemen were following added a metallic pearl gold by Pinkfresh Studio and to each of the other stars added a rhinestone jewel from my stash
