Shoebox Tuesday

For today's project a clean & simple card. I stamped the background flower stamp with scattered straw ink then stamped my big words with vintage photo ink added some buttercup liquid pearls and done

I made some more cards but I did one changed decided to die cut my top layer with Kat Scappiness double stitched rectangles and of course liked it more, just a little something to make the card looks better.

The first card it's my one layer style since I don't really like a true one layer even if I used thick cardstock

Monoprinting Class Homework 1

Last month I took an online class at Altenew Academy, Monoprinting Made Easy with Sara Naumann. It was a 6 day class. After each class we have "homework" which is to play with we learn I didn't have a Gelli Plate so borrowed one and did the first homework the others haven't done as they stain the Gelli Plate so didn't want to stain my friend's Gelli Plate and even though it was a messy thing I did enjoyed even though I had to use disposable gloves but something don't mind doing not sure if I would deal with a staining plate so waiting for my Gelli press to arrive and see LOL in the mean time this is what I did with my first day. Cards to come later

For all of them I used Altenew Crisp dye inks and I used regular cardstock not typing paper. For the first one I used midnight violet, deep iris & lavender fields the first thing I grab was the cat's water spritzer so not the best results as you have no control on the size of water mist but not bad either

For this one I used deep iris, eastern sky, parrot, orange cream, heart beat & fresh lemon for this I used a mini spritzer that has some sort of shimmer inside not plain water so it gave a shimmer to the paper along with the water I had to add

For this one I over water the Gelli Plate which was supposed be used as ink pad, it still worked as one but my negative images didn't show as much and I used the wrong set as technically I was supposed to use a set that had layer images an outline and background did get the background but didn't have an outline but used the image that was the fullest. I used the same colors as the first one midnight violet, deep iris & lavender fields. I used midnight violet for the top image. The leaves were from build-a-flower rose set also by Altenew

On this piece is where the leaves were stamped off because there was not enough images to fill the piece I used lavender fields ink to stamped the 3rd image and midnight violet to stamp the top image

Shoebox Thursday

For today's project I have a card I had played with but with my vacation and Christmas in July couldn't done it sooner LOL I used the kit by MFT, loved it. It was one of those that I just didn't want another flower stamp but had to have. The background can be use in so many ways and there are 3 flowers that matched the 3 main flowers and with matching dies. Poppies and poppy blooms I stamped everything with their hybrid black licorice ink. For my message I used Gina K Designs Smile die and for the dot of the eye used a black pearl.

I would have love if the dies were more like The Stamp of Life so we have two options of die cutting with or without the border. These dies only have the option, the border and if you don't want it you have to fuzzy cut...for this card it didn't matter but the first card I was playing with I wanted no border and since I hate fuzzy cutting went with this card as my shoebox projects have to be quick and simple

Celebrate

I made this card from pieces I had in my unfinished box, pretty much I had to put together the cards which I'm guessing at some point I had an idea but just was not in the mood, time or something.

The stamped used was dapper dad by SU with rich cocoa and the message is from feeling sentimental that was a sale-a-bration set also in rich cocoa punched out of decorative label

Shoebox Tuesday

My last Christmas in July project as next Tuesday we'll be in August. For this card I'm using some more of the layers I had left over from last year so the message is from more merry messages set by SU with mossy meadow ink and I stamped bramble wreath stamp by MB also with mossy meadow then anchor the wreath with a Copic multi liner hanging from the top right at the center and then just added some Nuvo Crystal Drops. I did two options one where the drops were closer to each other and one more farther  apart. The colors I used were crushed grape, oyster gray (which you can hardly see) and rhubarb crumble

Shoebox Thursday by Darlene

Darlene continue with the Christmas in July theme and had a simple clean & simple card. We used Snowfall embossing folder by Taylored Expressions then we die cut bare tree by Impression Obsession and the birds are cherry cardinals by Poppy Stamps. The message is by Gina K with cherry cobbler ink. I anchor my tree with a Copic Marker and since since it was wintery I sprayed some shimmer to it that doesn't show on the photo
