Happy Easter

This year Easter came early I know it's probably not early but whenever it fall in March is early to me :0)

For the table, I made this little bag with peeps with an egg tag with each guest name. The egg is a die by Spellbinders and used gorgeous grunch SU's set to give it a little something, the message is by Stamptastic, the bow is from my stash

This is the card I made for Bret. The fold was created by Leo Thompson, the paper used was from Circle of Crafters. The corners are peel-off stickers they were gold and I colored with Copic Markers to sort of match my cross. The message is by Stamptastic

Decided to start working on some cards so my shoebox project for today is a thinking of you card. The tree is a Rubbernecker multistep set, the thinking of you in English is part of a My Creative Time set and in Spanish is SU set. The ribbon is Offray. The background was done with a stamp from a SU set using the same colors as the tree

Stain Glass

Today is Palm Sunday and last day of winter!!!! I remember when we used to go to mass and get our palm and made a cross. This card was fun. The sunburst or sun rays is a die by Taylored Expressions I cut it 8 times, 4 in white, one in blue, pink, purple & yellow. Depending on how many cards you're making with one cut of each colored cardstock you get 4 cards so you do need 4 white frames. I made sticker paper then cut them so I didn't have to worry about how to glue them down. The cross is a die by Spellbinders/Heartfelt Creations and the stain glass arch is a Memory Box die glued on acetate

SU Club

Today was club with one of the local SU demonstrators. Haven't been there in a while so it was fun seeing everyone and meeting some new people. We made 4 projects, all supplies are SU

For this one I brought it home unfinished and instead of fuzzy cutting the ice cream cone I used my Brother Scan N Cut

This was my favorite card

Shoebox Thursday

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Two weeks ago I borrowed the blossom petals builder punch by SU so I could work on a Sunday Tip or Technique. Since I enjoyed working on the card and had punched enough pieces decided to use the project as my shoebox project :0) Because it's a bunny and didn't put any message TO ME is just a plain and simple spring card, but of course you can use it as an Easter card or any occasion :0) The tutorial was by Dawn Griffith it was a shaped card and a treat basket, mostly I don't do 3D project and since I'm picky and don't like the marks that the cutting mat leaves on the back of the paper I made my card regular size using the bunny as my main image. Used wiggly eyes to make it more fun :0) The heart is a Spellbinders die, miscellaneous circle punches and the blossom petals by SU

I also made this card...it was a bunny picking out in the grass. I didn't give them the option on papers since I didn't have enough of the grass paper but wanted to show two looks of same layout. On the bottom I used one of my cloud templates with ink and sponge dauber to give it some color and texture

St Patrick's Shaker card

This is the card I made for Bret. It's been a while since I gave him a shaker card so thought with all the little 3 leaf clovers from the EK Success punch that I still have quite a few was a good way to use them :0) The frame is a die by Memory Box, the message is by Stamptastic and the background from a SU set

Shoebox Tuesday

For today's shoebox project decided to do something quick and easy. Well it wasn't neither quick or easy LOL I picked the paper I wanted, the kind that is pretty but not card making friendly because the design is big, anyway, cut it to the size I wanted then cut my vellum paper and embossed with Versamark and fine line embossing powder my message from the botanicals for you Sale-A-Bration set and that's where the problem started. I hate embossing as it's messy and because I don't emboss I only have VersaMark so have to use colored embossing powder and even using the embossing buddy I got flakes everywhere after 5 tries only one came out good enough for me so gave up the embossing

So decided to use StāzOn ink, don't like this ink because it stains the stamps but since I was using vellum other inks don't work as well. The image wasn't coming out nice and clear so again after several attempts was getting discourage. Used a black marker to kind of fixing the imperfections so it was good enough but not perfect

My last attempt was using a black Sharpie marker on top of the already stamped image and then used glossy accents which was my best result BUT that meant I had to write over the image twice which was pretty hard on my hand. One with the Sharpie let it dry a bit and the other with the glossy accent and let it dry a while.

finally I added some proxy dots

Western

One of the themes for a mingle (aka swap) was western I wasn't going to do the mingle as I just couldn't come up with a card. I got the stamp out and then I was stuck :0) and while messing around with other things an idea came up so card was done and ready to go. It was a clean and simple with the old spot technique. The image is by Stamp-A-Mania used couple punches for the spot, the birthday message is Heartfelt Creations

Ombre cloves

For the most part I don't like to carry my craft room to go to my friends for play day so I look for the least amount of supplies but that I can do enough things for 4 hours or until I get tire. On  one of the days I took two little punches and a bunch of scrap green papers. The punches were 3 leaf cloves by EK Success and heart by SU; since there wasn't many pieces of one tone I was going to do something that didn't need only one tone :0) For this card I made Ombre technique. The embossing folder is SU and the ribbon I got I believe at Michaels

St Patrick's frame

I don't seem to find many stamps for St Patrick's day, not a holiday that most people celebrate other than the commercial side. So tend to buy the few I find. This frame is by Alota Rubber Stamps, don't know if they still in business as haven't seen them at the shows in a while. The folder is by Cuttlebug, the message is Sweet Impressions

Shoebox Thursday

For today's shoebox project was another Easter card. This one was more traditional. The ideas was from Tami White from a couple years ago plus added from the sun idea by Queen B Creations.

The light is a SU's kinda eclectic set. For the cross I stamped the woodgrain stamp also by SU then cut and made cross, added a little enamel accent by Ranger for the "nails", the ribbon is also by SU and the ground is part of a G-Rated Rubber Stamps set

Stitched St Patrick's Day

One technique I love but since my sight got bad not able to do is Paper Embroidery. It was always an easy thing to do on the go as for the most part I had my design pricked and all I had to do was take the thread and needle with me. It didn't take much room and while at the hospital or nursing home was great as wasn't in the way of anyone :0)

For today's shoebox project decided to use the egg die cut that came out of this card for a new card so this one was pretty clean and simple. Egg die is Spellbinders, the cross is an old SU stamp set the Easter blessings are by The Stamps of Life and used my Fiskars fancy edger scissors

Sunday tip or technique

One of the Sunday tip or technique was this cute little tissue box. The embossing folder I think is Cuttlebug, I used a piece of paper from my scrap box that was already embossed. The message is by Lockart Stamps. Difference to the tutorials I saw I added acetate on my tissue box as all tissue boxes have a plastic piece and I didn't use the whole tissue thought it was too much is not like they're supposed to use it :0)

Shoebox Tuesday

Amazing we're already in March where did the first two months of the year have gone to? Easter is coming early this year...not really early but I like it when is in April :0)

Today's shoebox project is an Easter card. I used my MISTI so it was pretty easy to make. The MISTI is not a stamp positioner but in this case as long as you align the stamp towards the middle and you just move your paper up or down you get the perfect alignment. I saw a card with Tami White so of course was simple and easy to make so decided to do that for my project. I used a set by Avery Elle for my colors, being a clear stamp I was able to bend to make it curvy. The top layer was cut with the nested eggs die by Spellbinders and stamped my background with the smaller stamp from the flower on the What I love sale-a-bration set. My banner is a left over from a Paper Pumpkin, the message is Savvy Stamps.

I made two options one was completely flat and the second was pop-up. The view is pretty much the same except the second has dimension.
