Shoebox Tuesday

This is the card I made for Tuesday's shoe-box. There is always cards that you NEED to have handy and thank you cards is one of them, of course you can use this design for anything :0) I have way too many scraps on my green folder about triple that any other color so after I decided what card I wanted to do I chose my green :0) from all the greens this color was what matched best with this ribbon/trim although I think I found same type of ribbon/trim that was also light green that might also have go with this paper :0)

Anyway, the card was based on some cards I saw while browsing. Two were with Dawn Griffith and the other from Pinterest. Dawn and the other person used the fringe scissors but Dawn showed the card that she got and was using this kind of ribbon/trim and since I don't have the scissor went for the trim although I liked the trim better :0) Their cards were A2 size but since I was using my scraps I had to make it smaller, which ended up about 3-3/4 x 5". Used my Spellbinder classic circles die, the message is by Heartfelt Creations the main stamp is one new SU set :0) the background was done with a stamp set by Avery Elle

Last French Foliage

This is the last design I did with this set. Once again I stamped my paper with Distress Ink and then I cut the pieces to make the cards, with this design you get 4 cards out of one 8-1/2 x 11" sheet

Another clean and simple card using this SU stamp set. The message is by Stamp-A-Mania

more French Foliage

As you can tell I really was having fun with this stamp set

This one because the stamped piece was a bit small and I didn't just want a normal card so it's like a "s" or "z" The base card is 9" score at 4" and 6-1/2"

One sheet wonder

Once again I used the same French Foliage stamp set by SU but used different Distress Ink colors and layouts.

This is my 8.5 x 11" base paper

Cut in half

Here is where I went different

The top half made these 3 cards

And the bottom half made these

Again even though it was the same papers they all look different :0)

One sheet wonder

Using the same French Foliage stamp set by SU I made these cards. A couple years ago I worked with the one sheet wonder technique. It was quick and easy technique to have 7-9 cards. All cards were sory of different with the least work; and not long ago in one of my yahoo groups was mention this technique so decided to work on some cards.

This was my full sheet 8.5 x 11, stamped with Distress Inks

'

then I cut in half

and half again

then each quarter was cut differently to make the cards...you should be able to get 8 cards cutting this way, two with each quarter.

I decided to work not just with one stamped sheet but also with the same colored papers. With the top  left quarter I made these two cards

with the top right quarter, I was going to make 2 cards but one of my girlfriends liked how it looked all 3 pieces so I made the card like that

with the bottom left quarter I made these

and last but not least with the last quarter I made these

As you can see all cards look different even do each one has the same color papers and images.

Piecing

I borrowed the French Foliage stamp set by SU from one of my girlfriends and got busy. Love how versatile this set is. Normally I do my stamping, coloring if any and then pick my background papers and decide my design. So for these cards I did something a little different. I stamped my main piece which was a full 8-1/2 x 11" but then I decided to use scraps of paper to design my card so this is what I came up with.

Shoebox Thursday

Today's shoe-box from Candee was this local card. The supplies I don't really know...The Space Needle die I believe is by Savvy Stamps or Impress as well as the hello and the heart as well as the background paper SU...I think. Sorry when projects aren't done by me I don't always have the supplies :0( most people don't care what they use on cards. From all my friends I'm the only one that makes recipe cards :0)

Butterfly

Back in January when we went to the first SU workshop we were making this card

told them that instead of cutting the whole butterfly and glue the body we could just cut the wings as I had done it before, well I tried teaching them how but it wasn't working right...first I have small cutting mats which makes it easier and second I used the other butterfly :0) it only works on butterflies that the body is centered...no wings. This is the card I had made with that butterfly I cut. You can see the cut lines around the wings...the rhinestones are just about where the cut start

Shoebox Tuesday

I wanted to try one of the new sets I got recently...continuing with my New Year's resolution. This time was Wondrous Wreath. The first thing I wanted to do was make sure it would stamp perfectly as you know I have a bit of OCD so stamping two step (or more) has to be perfect for me to pass on to other card otherwise I would have to keep messing with it until it looks right if it doesn't after several times, more likely it would be a stamp that I won't use again or it won't be use as two steps :0) I won't say it was easier or quicker but it worked for me, stampingwise I got a perfect matching stamping. Sorry I don't know how to create a video tutorial but probably don't want to hear my voice either :0)

This was my project for today's shoebox

St Patrick's Day is coming up so wanted to do my project with that theme. Since I was on the lazy side my panels were done with just scoring...didn't feel like cutting the panels to make it more 3D. What I did was using a gray ink (London Fog) I stamped off on scrap paper then on the card stock, if you've noticed most doors after they're painted you really don't see the woodgrain...you see more the brush strokes LOL so I wanted a very light touch that it was barely show. Then turned my paper over and using my score board did the panels; I added gold brad as most of my doors have the handles that color :0) then I mounted it to my card base which was 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" (5-1/2" x 11" score in half)...the top part was 1/16" smaller all round (4-1/8" x 5-3/8") also being on lazy mood I didn't have dimensionals by my desk so I just mounted the wreath flat on door. The 3 leaf clovers are punched out from a very old EK Success punch.

One of my girlfriends asked where was the wreath hanging from? well...on one of my doors Bret put hooks that on most wreaths you don't see them so this wreath was the same :0) As I have said in the past I have wreaths on two of my doors year round for every holiday and they're all different and sometimes is not really a wreath as they are up and down instead of round.

Anyway except for the framelits die that don't know if it's my die or just my OCD as it didn't align perfectly, the stamping did so I can live with this card :0)

Shoebox Thursday

Today for our shoe-box project Kathy had us decorate a Valentine's treat jar...it's one of those canning jars. For the tag we had our choice of stamps I decided to use With Love.

We removed the lid and she had some padding already cut and set on the lid that when you do the canning it melts on the other part anyway we put the fabric in between, closed and decorated. We added some rhinestone jewels all around the rim

Added a few stickers by Martha Stewart on the jar itself

Shoebox Tuesday

I have way too many acetate sheets and every time I see a card with acetate I want to do something with it so for yesterday's shoe-box project I finally did. The original tutorial of the similar card was with Deb Valder, obviously she use SU Thinlits die. I decided to use what I had on my desk or right there, I know was in the lazy mood I guess :0) that meant scraps of pink and black paper for base card. But for my butterfly I use a die from a set by Spellbinders that I hadn't used since I bought it years ago. Still trying to use new supplies.

Since I have a thing about wet glue or glue showing I first made my sticky paper :0) I cover my pink paper with scor-tape then cut my butterflies out. Then I cut my card base to fit the butterfly which ended up being 4.75" x 5.5" I used the pink butterfly to decide where to cut the butterfly on the card base which gave me black butterflies left over for another project :0) I cut a whole layer of acetate that was about 3/32" around smaller than the 4.75' x 5.5" and then I cut a frame that was about 1/16" around smaller and about 1/4" thick. Added scor-tape around both pieces glued the acetate on the back of the front and then added the frame that was meant to cover the adhesive of the acetate. Then on the front I stuck the pink butterfly. So it looks nice and finish on the inside :0)

At first the top of the butterfly was staying flat but somehow the second card I did, didn't so I added a black rhinestone and violĂ  problem solve

For the inside I did a little scene using the butterfly basic stamp set by SU, which you can see through the butterfly

last valentine card

And this is the last card for 2014. The ribbon is from JoAnn's as well as the heart jewel. The message is by Holly Pond Hill

one more Valentine's card

As you know I love Tilda from Magnolia  so of course had to make a card using one of their images. Since my favorite color is purple that's the color I use...after all no one said Valentine's have to be red & pink :0) the dies are by Spellbinders and the corner stamp is by PSX. Colored my image with Copic markers
